lunatyke
There's a quote that goes, "Some people die when they're 25 and aren't burried until they're 75." Link to comment
Baby Brian
I think this happens to most people at some point or another. As we get older, we get more set in our ways. Some people can become so stagnant that way, even at 25, that they may very well have died. Link to comment
beallucanb
It's a saying that you have heard probably in science class but it is true : " A body in motion stays in motion". Link to comment
Little BabyDoll Christine
From what you have written, there is no innate cause of this. You are in a rut made worse by being isolated. The only way out is to make a way out. That means change your circumstances. That means professional help. probably behavior therapy. Behavior theropy defines and sets realistic goals, sets contingencies, uses small steps so that you are not trying to do it all at once, and uses "shaping by successive approximation". I would say to find a behavior specialist for that. It will give you something to do and even look forward to as he or she will try to change your environment based on things that you enjoy and get some people in your life to support the changes that you and he/she agree on Start by getting a name change "lunatyke" just reinforces the nutjob image To get out, you have to want out and the deeper the rut, the more you are going to have to want out. This is really up to you Link to comment
Dill_Pickle
These thoughts might be right...but I think Ms Tyke's problem is that of a major loss...the combination of abuse and the military career becoming unattainable. Link to comment
Zander
when I tell myself to do these things, its almost as if someone said to me, "There's Everest. Climb it" It's not about conquering Everest, its about seeing how far you can get each time. After all, less than 30%[source] of attempts make it to the top, but getting there isn't really the point for most - its the journey that matters. So you can't run three miles in one go yet? Fine: run for a minute, walk for two minutes and repeat until you're drained. Build up so your running for 1 track on your iPod and walking for another, then running for 2 tracks and walking for one, etc. Link to comment
