UPS pilots are under a lot of time pressure and not paid as well as they could be. Most transport pilots are in a similar situation. Being a transport pilot helps you get heavy-multi engine experience which helps you get a cushier job as a passenger airline pilot- but those jobs are few considering how many are chasing them. American transport companies do better with airplane maintainence but with the heavy time pressure there too, these pilots know they are likely to have some kind of problem with a plane they are assigned to more or less regularly. God help the transport pilots in more minor nations where there are less stringent regulations; those guys are taking their lives into their own hands every day. Link to comment
