same with everyother bill passed ... obama can veto a bill but for it to even get to him it has to be approved by a couple hundred other people you did vote for ..... maybe its not the president but all the other people in washington causing the big problems ....

Libertarianism may be good conceptually - and perhaps in reality on some issues - very dangerous in many other ways. Less regulation, less 'interference' spells the rich get richer, big business gets bigger, and the environment of our world is destroyed all that much sooner.

Socialism and/or communism are poisonous words for most people, but I'd submit good conceptually - and undoubtedly in reality on some issues - and very dangerous in others.

I could continue along those lines. It isn't what you call it. It's how it's carried out. Yes, I'm disappointed in Obama but for different reasons than the Republicans who insist the economy is his fault. Really, now. Is that a short memory or what? We're being told that the same policies that got us into this mess will get us out. Give MORE tax breaks to the rich and to big business??? Profits are a record high. Top corporate pay is at an obscenely record high. They are still withholding jobs because they want still MORE profit.

I'm not thrilled with politics in general, but it's pretty obvious that Republican leadership stresses 'freedom' but I'm sorry, the 'Trickle Down Theory' didn't and won't work with economics and it won't with 'freedom' either - not in the hands of those who don't care about the lower or even middle-class.

I don't like a lot of things going on with Democrats either. No, I don't support the law mentioned by the OP. Will I abandon my support for the least dangerous candidate?? I don't think so.

This is because, despite the whining of politicians, the ability of a company to provide jobs has not one floor, but two

1. The amount of money the company has to hire people

2. The demand for the company's product.

Number Two seems to be the one that most forget, as they are still whining at the top of their lungs that there aren't enough tax cuts for the rich. No company will hire when it doesn't have to. Until demand for products is increased (which is done, by the way, by increasing circulation of money in the poor and middle class, since the rich do not, historically, spend as much of their money in public markets), hiring does not increase because it would be stupid to hire another person to do a job that your current staff already manages without issue.

It won't matter anyway. Barrack Obama will probably have a second term and it is very likely the democrats will take back the house. No candidate is all that great, but if you Republicans decide to support the most conservative candidate you can find, you're certainly digging your own grave. You are not going to get many votes outside of the Republican Party that way. I hope the New Hampshire caucus has different results.

With everything about him not adding up, his connections, his beliefs (how about when he told "Joe the Plumber" about how he just wants everyone to have a bigger share of the pie) and the comment his wife made about her only being proud to be an American either after election as President or upon being nominated, he was just a rock star that was elected because he wasn't Bush. I suppose if we had it your way, you would remove any government interference in business, but add additional government interference in private affairs. Now before you say you are not for what I said, this is exactly what your favorite, Ron Paul, is speaking favorably of. For Example, when Ron Paul was asked about what he thinks about the new anti-abortion law in Texas, he said "That should have been our position all along." Ron Paul has taken a pro-life stance, and therefore he has decided for you what is right. Speaking to Republican fiscal policy, we already know supply-side economics was a failure and Ronald Reagon has proven this. David Stockman, one of the architects of supply side economics and budget director for Ronald Reagon, said himself the finanical policies of the government were a failure during the Reagon Administration, because you cannot disregard revenue for the government. Lowering taxes on everyone while creating a balanced budget is not fiscally possible, therefore requiring us to borrow money. Thus Paul Ryan's budget proposal is a bit of a joke. We also have to be careful as excessive austerity measures in the government can result in a recession as is the exact same thing that is happening in England right now. Now I would like to see a smarter government, but cutting off its legs and hands will not get you there.
