I recently got hired with a new company that makes it's money based off of 3 things, those happen to be 2 of the 3. I wouldn't give up my new full-time with benefits job just because a few people want to smoke and kill themselves and drink themselves silly everynight. It's their choice.

Not all problems can be solved peacefully. There are some people who're so screwed up that they either literally can't be reformed, or don't want to be reformed. To straighten out those people's problems, you'll have to kill them. Exile isn't a solution. It's simply passing the buck to someone else.

Also, drugs basically are banned already. Bans don't mean jack to those who want something that's banned and those who find it profitable to get the banned stuff for them. You have to get rid of the human elements of that problem: the suppliers and the druggies.

1. No dropping out of high school and going on welfare. You'd have two options if you drop out: Go to jail or Military service.

Or get a job. I dropped out of high school and [ironically] make more than most of my fellow 'classmates'. However I agree that most drop outs are worthless, just providing the missing option.

3. No druggies or alcoholics. Don't get rid of the people; just get rid of the drugs and alcohol that cause the problems. Do you have any idea how much society pays to rehabilitate people that have abused alcohol or drugs, and how that money could be put to better use than to help people straighten out their lives after THEY MESSED UP THEMSELVES? (Nobody pays for my mistakes except ME)

Statements like this piss me off something awful. Drugs and alcohol do not cause the problems, people do. Just like getting rid of guns will never make anyone safer. Criminals, by definition, already break the law so making laws to stop them makes about as much sense and [something really stupid, GW Bush maybe?]. If you remove the drugs and alcohol then these people will just get addicted to something else? Work? TV? Food? Internet Porn?

4. No more rap music or violent movies. (I know I offended a large number of people on this one, but it isn't necessary to dwell on negative aspects of life in music or cinema--let's spread positive vibes, man!) Don't believe I'm right about unnecessary violence and negativity? Just wait until Hollywood releases a 911 movie showing how "the terrorists could have done it better."

For the record, I am not a fan of rap music; however what ever happened to free speech? Who is to decide what is violent or 'unfit'? And for the record I believe that hollywoods stupid ideas could probably keep us safer than the TSA on their best day.

Simple. Kill the people who warp the idea to include people who aren't actually hurting anyone.

But seriously... There are some types of criminals who honestly can't be or don't want to be rehabilitated. The most notable examples are sex offenders and serial killers. If all you do is ban these people, then they'll just go elsewhere and commit the same crimes over and over again until someone kills them.

This has been a dead thread for a long time, but it has made some points.

1.) It would be lovely to eliminate all the thugs and bullies. Unfortunately, if you are Hitler you need the thugs and bullies to do the eliminations for you. He certainly provided full employment for a large number of the underclass; they were used to exterminate the small number of the underclass. This was very effective, but you need a continuous supply of victims to keep the thugs and bullies occupied and off the streets. The trouble is you have to persecute someone in order to retain power, and once you have eliminated that group, you have to keep the momentum going by attacking another group.

2.) The economic record of the Nazis was actually very good; they dragged Germany out of a terrible recession, and instigated a number of excellent social-welfare programs. They were also very "green" - after all, Hitler was a vegetarian, teetoaller and non smoker. (Surely a man who loves dogs and hates children cannot be all that bad!" - W C Fields.) Up until 1940 they would probably have won any election in Germany very easily. Provided, that is, that the Jews and all the rest didn't vote. The problem was that the program of rearmament and road building was mainly done by deficit-financing; they put it all on the credit card, and sooner or later they had to pay the bill. That was done by robbing the rest of Europe.

One solution to 1.) and 2.) is to find a minority who are very asset-rich and strip them of their assets. Three-quarters of the lawyers in Vienna were Jewish, so if you were an Austrian lawyer, you didn't get a look in. So you joined the SS, and a few of you got together and dispatched Professor Cohen to the next world, then one of you got his house, another his job, a third his art collection, and the bank got his money. The professions most largely represented in the SS were Lawyers and Doctors. Now you know why!

Unfortunately the Jews represented a large part of the scientific talent available to Germany, and so many of them went to work for the allies. As a result we got the atom bomb first - by a fairly small margin.

You really need to pick on a vague minority that cannot fight back. Gays, paedophiles, motorists, bankers, "cowboy traders" spivs, gangsters, drug addicts, diaper lovers, hoodies, hippies, lager louts, capitalists, fox hunters, financial advisers, dog lovers, politicians (of the other party), red-haired people, immigrants, travellers, half-wits, lawyers, bagpipe-players, sheep-shaggers, tramps, moslems, hindus, atheists, coal miners, trade unionists, loblolly boys, and of course, everybody's friend, those wicked cheese-loving surrender monkeys themselves. Oh, and the Jews, but very carefully this time.

What would I do if I was Hitler? I think I'd retire to that nice house in the Alps, and let someone else pick up the pieces. All said and done, I'm really much to lazy to persecute anyone. Hitler would surely have been better off for a large steak, an decent bottle of wine, a good gigar, and a bad woman.

Me? With the absolute power to say who stays and who goes? Now that would be fun. We'd start with the rapists and molesters, then work our way to religious fanatics, not just them radical Islamists but the Fundamentalists as well. Nothing screws up the world more than YOU trying to ram YOUR religion down OTHERS throats.

Then I'd have to say all the corporate lobbyists and any politician who's served more than two terms, once they've been there that long they're corrupt (you don't say "crooked as a politician" for nothing). Of course terrorists would be right in there too, they're always trying to force their religious or political beliefs off on you and I.

Illegal aliens would have to go next, and we'd actually put up a fence along our border too, not some mamby pamby little thing that anyone can climb, but an electrified one, with a mine field in front and behind it. We'd check everything coming into our country at border crossings and those found carrying contraband would be executed on the spot.

Those caught selling drugs would get a mandatory 20 years for anything stronger than pot, with pot being 10 years for the first offense. Anyone caught selling drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or firearms to minors would be executed. Gang membership would be 5 years, and all cases of murder would be handed the death penalty with only one chance at appeal, so they get a fair chance at trial.

Drunk drivers would have to drive in cars that only run if the tube you have to blow into registers absolutely no alcohol in their system, if they find a way around this and drive drunk again, death sentance carried out immediately.

What fun, to be able to say who lives and dies. The torture I'd save for all those idiots who come to my door and want to talk to me about their church, or who want to sell me something. I would make it law that everyone who saw an old or middle aged man driving a hot car would laugh at them.

If you're caught talking on your cell phone while driving or texting while behind the wheel your license would be pulled for a year. Lots of little fun laws like if you're too busy to be involved in your kids life they be taken from you and given to people who actually care, stuff like that.

I could go on, but thankfully I don't have this power, because it might be a better world for me, but I'm not sure everyone else would share my views on what is right and wrong with this world, so I guess that I'll just have to muddle through it as best as I can, much like the rest of you.

yes i have my own opinoins as to what i feel is good and bad behavior.. but that doesn't give me the right to kill people who i feel are "bad" people...

My criteria for who to kill. A murderer without just cause and a child rapist. Heck I can save the government lots of money if they just reimburse me the ammo.

This is a rather thought provoking question, one I'm not sure I can answer in any thoughtful way.

The trouble is: even a superman who could use personal force to enforce his ideals, could not weed out those who would prefer to harm themselves and others, than to live peacefully. I'm listening to Ex Tempus - a miniseries from Pendant Audio, which happens to chronicle an alternate timeline where Zod has become ruler of the world, he escaped Krypton instead of Superman.

I seem to remember a Douglas Adams quote something like "Those who wish to rule cannot, under any circumstances, be allowed to do so." A perfect society would require people who *wish* to live in a perfect society, and who have the opportunity.

Many would disagree with me, but a lot of the 'evils' that people hate so much, are bred most quickly in poverty. When people don't have what they need, or at least some of the things they want, all sorts of things happen that should not. We should all have what we need, God knows there is plenty on this world for all of us. But food is too often traded for weapons, or allowed to rot on the vine for the sake of better prices. There are too many things wrong with this system for us to fix it.

Yes, the system has become to corrupt to be properly fixed. Ideally, it should be destroyed and a new one should be made, with safeguards against the flaws in the current one... But doing so is impossible, short of an actual revolution... And the people are too complacent to revolt...
