  1. I'm pretty sure my incontinence comes from being in diapers 24/7 - it's been almost five years now since I chose that route and I noticed a steady decline in control after about 2 years. It's not so severe and is partly psychological as I leak far more when I'm very relaxed, but I feel that I need diapers all the time just in case. As is frequently stated here, you should always be careful about what you wish for, but personally I've no regrets at all - for me being incontinent isn't a cross to bear, it's a liberation. As long as I have my nappies on - which of course I always do - I can just let my bladder do its thing while I get on with everything else. For me, not having to think about when I might need to pee and whether or not there will be a toilet somewhere nearby (and a clean one when I'm not at home) is a freedom I really value.
  2. Hi and welcome ... I tick some of your boxes - am also a biker, closeish to the north (Birmingham), know nothing about kickboxing ... Nice to think there are other bikers out there with nappies on under their leathers :-) Drop me a line if you'd like to chat ... P

    Religion

I'm an atheist, although, ironically, as a musician, I probably spend more time at church services than most Christians ...
  4. Being English, I also prefer the word 'nappies' although I also use 'diaper' sometimes. There's something about 'nappy' which says 'wet and messy' to me, which I like - although I guess it's just association going back years. As for etymology, nappy is derived from napkin, and diaper is a type of cloth - in the C19th a 'diaper cloth' was sometimes placed on ballroom floors to stop people slipping and falling over!
  5. I also shave down there (front and back) and it certainly makes it much easier to clean up. And looks and feels good too. Go for it; it's not difficult to do, even round the back.
  6. Well if you're not worried about subtlety, how about this - a crossed safety pin belt buckle! http://www.punkoiuk.co.uk/shop/shopdisplay...cat=Accessories
  7. Up and down! Or, more precisely, up during the day (when I'm either standing or sitting all the time) and down at night. Actually, I'm a recent convert to down at night, but it's definitely more effective against leaks if you sleep on your front or side ...
  8. I agree with diapered1964; I went 24/7 about four years ago and have slowly developed incontinence as a result. It's not very 'severe' at present - sudden unpredictable urges, occasional dribbling without realising and I have no idea when I stop wetting after I start. If I'm very relaxed I tend to pee several times an hour. None of this bothers me - I went 24/7 because I love being in diapers, so having to wear them is no problem. As well as becoming physically dependent, I think you also become psychologically dependent as well. I'd hate to be out of diapers now because I find them so reassuring to wear - I suspect I'd be very nervous if somehow they were taken away because I'd be scared of having an accident. Being diapered gives me confidence and releases me from having to worry about what my bladder is up to - in short it's liberating!
  9. Personally I've never had a problem with this - I fill my diaper pretty much when I need to (unless I'm going to be inside with other people for a long time) and change when I get home. Three tips for making the clean up easier: 1. Place a wet wipe in your diaper where you're likely to get dirty. When you change, simply lift the wet wipe and the debris in the toilet. There will be relatively little left in the diaper. 2. Wipe yourself down and then leap straight in the shower; you can get rid of the rest pretty quickly and easily; if you're shaved down there it's much easier. 3. You can roll your diaper up into a 'sausage' which keeps everything self contained. To do this, fold the wings at the front of the diaper in towards the centre. Then fold the front third of the diaper over on to the centre third. Then fold all of this over on to the final (back) third of the diaper. Fold one wing over the top and the other wing over the top of that and as far round the diaper as possible finally using the two tapes to stick the whole thing down. You end up with a close packed cylinder :-) Admittedly this is all much easier at home in the privacy of your own bathroom!
  10. Hey Piglet, Just to say I think you have a really great attitude to being diapered - even if you don't need them using pretty well as much as possible sounds like a good philosophy to me!
  11. I wear 24/7 too and I pretty much do everything in my nappies. The only exception is if I'm out and about, the urge to poop comes along and I know I'm going to be in a confined space with other people before I can get changed. But otherwise, I just use the diaper and think 'that's what it's there for'. If I could be bothered to take de-odourising tablets and would be confident that the smell wouldn't be an issue I'd use my nappy all the time without exception. As it is, in any case, over 80% of my BMs end up in my diaper :-)
  12. About 3.5 years here - and like others I feel very strange without one (like in that short period after getting out of the shower). I guess being diapered just makes me feel secure and safe - and I know that I won't have any accidents . . .
  13. As I'm in nappies 24/7 I wear at work as well as everywhere else. No problems at all; the biggest thing to get over is the psychological 'will anyone notice' barrier. They don't. After all, it means that everyone would be walking around looking at each other's arses and thinking 'hmmmm - must be diapered'. Not very likely! As well as needing nappies, I like the convenience of not having to break off doing something because I need to pee. Just as it's convenient everywhere else :-)
  14. Absolutely not! Whilst I can see that lots of people don't want to be incontinent, if you've come to terms with it and enjoy being in diapers, what's wrong with that? Arguably, it's making something positive out of what lots of people would view as a negative - but just because you're in a minority, doesn't make it a bad thing.
  15. Hey thanks - it worked; I reset my browser to use a proxy and now I can access these boards. And my net access generally got quicker - all round win!!
  16. I have had this problem too but have recently discovered something - I cannot access this board at home but if I take my laptop anywhere else and access the net via another wireless network, everything is fine. Go back home, log back onto the net, can't get in, with the error msgs referred to earlier. What does this mean ?! (!) Doesn't sound like the browser or the system software. Could it be something to do with the security settings used by the different networks? Hmmm . . . .
  17. and don't forget - it may not just be the students that in diapers - it may be the staff (faculty to you US people) too :-) But the people giving the lecture aren't going to advertise it of course - might have strange effects on staff/student relations!
  18. Hi Dan, Thanks for the info. It's harder getting all products here in England because the National Health Service provides supplies for most people - so there are very few shops that you can walk into and simply buy a pack of nappies. So most stuff comes mail order for us DLs. I think I've found a supplier which carries the pads in questions - many which sell Abena products only carry the pads with the plastic backing, which isn't much use if you're going to use them as a booster. But the large size are the biggest I've ever heard of - and together with an Medium X Plus they would have a theoretical capacity of something like 4.5 litres, which is phenomenal :-)) Very handy for an evening down the pub! I shall be ordering some soon . . .
  19. Hi Dan, Thanks for the info; should have asked this before - where do you get them from? I prefer cloth nappies and plastic pants for night time, but there are days when some extra absorbency would be very welcome :-) Paul
  20. Hi Dan, Very interested to read your post - it's a while since I've used Abena (been on tena for a bit) but am thinking of getting a case of Abena as lots of people have been saying they've improved recently. Like you I like to use a booster pad for extra security - but I thought the Abri-Let had a plastic backing, so how do you deal with that? Do you know how they compare to Boots nappy booster pads (available in the kids' section - £2 for a pack of 14) - they give lots of extra absorbency and padding for a secure feeling and a nappy with a big capacity :-) Take care, Paul
