I loved this story when it first started but now it feels like it’s dragging on. Lots of questions and no answers. Seems like the recent few chapters are more like stand alone stories that do little or nothing to advance the plot.

I find Tena European plastic backed are shaped perfectly and eliminates this problem for me. Bonus that they are silky smooth, not too thin and fairly absorbent. Also they have leg gatherers that remind me of the Luvs and Pampers from the late 80’s and early 90’s

First, hi and welcome. Second, in response to your request, everything starts with communication. You need to have an open dialogue about desires, expectations and boundaries. It can be tough but not having that conversation will only be more frustrating for both of you

I should clarify that when the DSM talks about interfering with normal life functions, they mean things like it causes the patient to inflict self harm or self mutilation, depression or anxiety that interrupts work or social life, or the inability to take care of one’s self due to being hyper focused or obsessively fixated on the one thing. Infantilism and gender dysmorphia are actually in the DSM but not generally viewed as mental illnesses because most people live normal healthy lives outside of those desires

No judgment here, not my thing but I definitely understand those in this community that are drawn to it. As a psychologist, I was only stating what the clinical and professional opinion would be. The DSM is very clear that everything included in it is really only a mental problem when it interferes with normal life. There are millions of people who have all the symptoms of alcoholism that wouldn’t garner a diagnosis because they are in control of it, not the other way around

According to the DSM V, it’s a mental disorder that falls under body dysmorphia. CBT could treat the underlying issues but ultimately the desires will always be there. The goal of therapy at this point would be to get the person to learn how to live with these desires in a healthy and productive way

I think that makes the story more real. Pronouns have only recently (the last 3-5 years at most) become a staple conversation in our daily lives. Myself, as a gen X’er, have no problem with transgender people but I often struggle with pronouns, especially “them” because the connotation implies multiple or plural. I am not saying they/them is wrong, just that a majority of people do stumble and struggle with the pronoun preference. It might have been a slip on the author’s part or it might be intentional to point out that older generations do in fact struggle with this

Which is why I said hardly ever, 2 really is too early. Usually by 4 if the delays haven’t caught up they will run a battery of tests. Most of the things on the diagnostic test can’t be performed by a typical function 2 year old

It’s fairly well written and a decent story, I will say that as a parent with 2 kids on the spectrum, autism is hardly ever diagnosed as early as 2. 3-4 is usually when pediatricians will recommend testing. There is just not enough development at 2 for accurate diagnosis. I say that as a psychologist and a parent of autistic children.
