  1. How long would you say it took you to need to wear diapers all of the time?
  2. Hm.. I'll have to think more about the food patterns, but I do drink a pretty large amount throughout the day. My urine is never really that concentrated.
  3. Turns out they don't know what was wrong. They did a culture and it all came back negative. When I left the doctors office last Thursday they did give me a prescription for an amoxicillin (antibiotic), and I technically have not had the issue since then. So that is a good thing. Though I stopped taking the antibiotic when they informed me that the culture came back negative on Tuesday. I think it's possible that it is some sort of chemical irritation. This would be "chemical urethritis." Hopefully it stops happening.
  4. Surprised no one has responded thus far. I would get the highest capacity Tena, the super plus in small, and see how that works for you. If you wear a long shirt and loose pajama pants no one will ever be able to tell you're wearing a diaper. If the diaper seems like it will a sorb more than you need it to, you can always wait until you run out and get the next step down in absorbency. But better to get a quality absorbent brief than to get the cheaper underwear if you're just seeing what works.
  5. Alright. So do you guys disagree still about this? Tell me if I'm getting this right. kevindhca: A relaxed outer sphincter could be open or closed, depending on the person. Brian: A relaxed outer sphincter is always open.
  6. Very interesting stuff. So really, the goal is to change the outer sphincter' natural state to relaxed, which will make you leak just as often as your internal sphincter releases.
  7. I've heard many times about the importance of staying relaxed and not tensing up after peeing. For me at least though, it seems like I can do this and still have be tensed up enough to release later. It seems like my sphincter is completely open, but then, a while later, it needs to release itself and my sphincter opens again. This obviously doesn't make a lot of sense to me. How can you be relaxing a muscle, and then it somehow manages to tense up again? Is that how it works? Does it always kind of close on its own after a while? Or does this have something to do with the internal and external sphincter?
  8. I guess I thought this might have been a common experience, but I hear what you guys are saying. I'll try to get in there soon. Thanks!
  9. I'm a bit stubborn I know :-)
  10. @beallucanb Well I'm a virgin so we can thankfully rule that one out. I hear you all, but why should I need to go to the doctor if this happens only occasionally. It's only maybe once a week.
  11. *Warning: Discussion of male anatomy below*
  12. What's helped me feel right about seeking incontinence is that I don't ever have to have an uncomfortable feeling in my bladder anymore. I just let go wherever I am. There's no pressure or pain and I don't need to hold it in anymore. I just like having an empty and totally comfortable bladder now.
  13. Can't tell if I'm completely stupid or what. So what I thought was originally said was that you: 1. Inhale deeply, breath out 75% of breath, hold for 10 sec 2. Inhale deeply, breath out 75% of breath, hold for 15 sec 3. Inhale deeply, breath out 75% of breath, hold for 20 sec Keep doing this, at 5 second intervals, until you are holding your breath for 40 seconds or more. Did I get that right?
  14. Gotta bring this post back from the grave lest no one knew I live in Florida too. I'm in St. Pete.
  15. So they had some effect then?
  16. So do you think it's mostly a mental block? I have the same problems with peeing while lying down, sitting in the car etc. I wear diapers all the time, but the situation never seems to improve.
  17. I lived in Gainesville, FL for many years and the beach is an hour and a half away. So pools are good to have around. And now that I live close to the water I still want a pool. Salt water just isn't refreshing sometimes.
  18. So I have an idea of something fun to do for those who (like me) are not quite able to stay completely committed to the 12-month diaper program.
  19. I think one of the biggest challenges of being incontinent is that you are wearing a secret on your body at all times. Most other secrets don't
  20. "I know of one 11 year old who has to wear pull ups at night. It can really place a strain on teachers. It stops lessons."
  21. So the wedding actually went great. I was able to conceal the diapers at least moderately well by wearing baggier shorts and dress pants. I was also limiting my liquids intake which was helpful.
  22. No I don't think you're being jerk-ish. You make a legitimate point, and I may just tell them. The problem is though, they're not in my life that much. I've only been playing with them since December or so. This could also potentially be our last gig depending on circumstances. So all in all, I'm undecided if that's the option I want to take. I think right now that I want to use that as a last resort if there is no other way to hide this.
  23. Okay, to clear things up, I have been working to get self-induced incontinence since mid-January. It has caused me to have legitimate daytime and nighttime issues. It's not like I have no control, but it's getting there, especially at night. So no, I do not want to take a break from the diapers because of worries associated with that. The other part of it is that I don't want to backpedal the training.. But if you guys think it's too risky for me to purposely wet as much as I have been, then I suppose I can suck it up and wet less often. Sorry about the confusion.
  24. I play guitar a bunch and it ends up that I have to play at a wedding on Saturday. My bandmates don't know about my diapers and I am trying to figure out a good way to hide that. I could just tell them, but I don't know if I want to go there.
