  1. Actually, I am quite serious. The county seat has an apartment complex which is subsidized housing; It's shabby and laden with crime. And it's called "The Casino Royale Apartments".
  2. I gotta admit: Although I hate both the Democratic AND Republican parties, that was a hoot!
  3. I'm stumped. Why did they name a James Bond flick after a local welfare apartment ghetto?
  4. (11) If you leave it at my place, it's mine. (12) IT'S MINE! MINE!! MINE!!! **Stomp-Stomp**
  5. Saddam may indeed have differences with the Taliban, but the one thing that must be made clear is that an adage we commonly decry that "Your enemy's enemy is your friend" is treated like gospel truth in Islamic circles. Just because there's differences in the Muslim world doesn't mean there's alliances which are trumped by those differences. Another common Muslim saying is "My cousin and I against the infidel; My brother and I against my cousin". Just because Saddam had differences with the Taliban apparent to our Western world did not mean that underhandedly he didn't have positive dealings with them. The Muslim faith is nothing like how we Westerners do things...not at all. There is a lot about Islamic culture we don't know or understand, and we need to get a little wiser; Not smarter, but wiser, and that includes availing ourselves a little more to talking to Muslim leaders, hearing them out and trying to resolve this mess we've gotten ourselves into. Granted, surrender or 'peace at any price' isn't on the table...Only dialogue and negotiation will save us all. Who's gonna talk first?
  6. PamperBoy: If you didn't write your opening rant, then it would have been in your best interest to say so. Personally, I prefer people who speak their own minds...not CTRL-C-CTRL-V types. I think you do in fact have a mind...let's hear you talk instead of someone talking in your stead...that makes a lot of differnce. Personally...I have watched American culture decay dramatically over the last 30 years. I watched my government go from "We The People" to "We The Corporations"...from pacifist to warrior, be it military or general public; I am now seeing the fruits of foreign contempt against the US because like the Catholic church of old, we marched into foreign lands preaching the gospel of Prosperity, Justice and Freedom...and we enslaved them all, raping them of their natural resources and forcing them to make our clothing, AA batteries, cars, etc., which ironically they may never be able to afford for themselves to enjoy as well, while we take their fruits and toss them in the gutter with high treason. The people we tried to spread our ideologies to have become victims of our greed and indifference, and many times they have paid dearly for it in instances such as the cyanide gas cloud from the Union Carbide company in Bhopal, India in 1986 which killed 1,600 Hindus. I hate to admit it, but America is not hated unjustly...
  7. That's not a good thing...we wish you'd make some efforts to come back when you could and hang around when possible. Losing good people just isn't good. I don't know you personally, but you seem like a very decent person...please reconsider?
  8. (((((((((((((((((((((((((((JENNIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I miss ya SO much! I'll be back online very soon...thanks for the B-day wishes!
  9. I didn't even suspect this would happen....thanks to everyone. This really, really means a lot right about now...
  10. Correct; However, there's also Aramaic texts out there, too. And I reject the Latin Vulgate.
  11. Just wanted to say 'Thanks'...it helped a lot this weekend. Some of you read and offered your condolences here, some of you chatted with me live in chat...I wanted to let you know it isn't unappreciated. Larry was like a brother to me, we had a long friendship and it was an honour to have him as a friend, even if it wasn't as life-long as hoped. The fact is that he was my friend, and that's all that matters. And so are you...I appreciate your friendship, or even your jus' bein' friendly. Thanks again... --Bobby
  12. Yesterday one of my best friends I've ever had in my life was killed instantly in an offroad Jeeping accident... Larry, along with his eldest son Brandon, were Jeeping east of the mountains here when their Jeep overturned and rolled backwards several times before coming to rest. The rollcage was not enough, apparently; Neither were the 5-point harnesses installed. Larry felt nothing; His son received a head injury which blinded him temporarily. The blessing in this is that he didn't have to see his dad....He is 'recovering'... He is survived by Brandon, his wife Sue and his younger son, Chad. Both sons are college-aged and on their own, living productive lives. He is also survived by countless family and friends...and myself. Larry and I began our relationship in 1990, while we were both learning the flooring installation trade from his dad. He and I started out as an "odd-couple" sort, which remained somewhat throughout our relationship...but we learned a lot from each other. We grew in the trade together, and through all our differences, oddities and common interests, we developed a solid, full-trust friendship. We'd wrench on his Jeep together, on countless occasions we installed flooring together, he'd pull me out of my shyness long enough to get me to join in on a family BBQ as I wrenched on my Nissan (That Nissan spent garage time only at his shop)...He spoke with pride when he'd talk about how Brandon was moving up rapidly in the construction trade...how Chad's band was gigging the West coast all the time...His family was his pride. He was a solid human being...no dependencies, balanced, happy, willing to help and willing to receive as well. He and Sue were just beginning to enjoy their lives together: Horse-riding, Jeeping, camping I used to think he was overly assertive, especially when I first met him...But it was a blessing to get to know him and realize that that was his power to provide for and protect his family. He was a generous man all across the board, but one'd learn soon enough that he couldn't be fooled. And shrewd in business..but also well-admired, by clients and customers alike. He and I ordered our new computers together last month...the exact same ones. He had also just secured a new van for his business and was looking forward to outfitting it for his trade. We were supposed to outfit it together when he returned... To me, he was a mentor; A true leader, a compassionate human being. The world has lost another good person, and we are all the worse for it. He almost made it to 50...1956-2006 Rest in peace, forever my friend...and thank you, always. I'll never forget you. Ever.
  13. Well, brian: If you're gonna explode some TNT tonnage, and if you make a mistake, I hope you don't live to tell. You won't be a pretty sight if you survive. Just don't take anyone else with you. Aside from that...Happy 4th!
  14. Well (Deep subject)! This one died a rapid death!
  15. The one thing I have learned from personal experience in chats is that it's a lot like flying a 747 with darkened windows: You don't get the whole picture. Sometimes people can launch an asinine remark and it falls back in their faces, or someone can offer a kind remark and it generates hostility. The one thing chats like this lack is the emphases on words that voice chat offers. There's not much colour to a bunch of text as there are spoken words. That's just text chat's shortcoming.
  16. Well...umm...Will kinda reminds me of a schnauzer who fought a 220-volt power cord and lost, as far as the hair goes. I got no hair. I look a little more like Vin Diesel now... Quick! An antidote!
  17. Hmmm....here goes: Aldo Nova/Blue Oyster Cult/Sammy Hagar, New Year's Bash 12/31/83-1/1/84; Won tickets on a local station, took big sis, Tacoma Dome. Front row except for Sammy Hagar, received contact-high from the dope, went back to school in my new "HAGAR KICKS ASS" t-shirt; Suspended for 3 days after refusing to remove it and saying "ACLU" to the Principal (I was quite the punk then!). Phil Keaggy...Gads! A few times now! Met him in 1991, got to pose for pic with him, had 8x10 made, SUPERB guitarist/composer. He's 4-foot-11 and missing his right middle finger, but he plays like nothing else! Garth Brooks, twice (1992, 1998); Wife wanted to see him, so I went with. First concert 7 days after we married; Wallet stolen at concert, recovered by police in LOUISIANA?!?!?! (Bear in mind, I'm in Seattle) Rush (!!!!!!!!), 3 times: 1997 Test For Echo Tour (The Gorge Amphitheatre), 2002 Vapor Trails Tour (Ditto), 2004 30th Anniversary Tour (White River Amphitheatre, UGH). Excellent pyrotechnics and backscreen shows, wonderful to see drummer Neil Peart return in 2002 after losing his daughter Selena in a Jeep accident in Toronto (1997) and later his common-law wife Jackie to cancer in Barbados (1998). All the good stuff, best of the new stuff, "2112" played in its entirety in 1997, to 20,000 LOUD and SCREAMING, literally-worshipping-and-bowing fans (Self included). BTW, The Gorge Amphitheatre was voted THE best outdoor amphitheatre in North America 5 years running...desert-scape, Columbia River canyon, MILES of rolling desert hills, phenomenal sunsets. Ozzfest, 2001, The Gorge Amphitheatre; Never again. Extremely dark experience.
  18. Oh, sorry 'bout that: Bridget actually has a 'supporting role' in this tech article (She 'supports' the parts that are part of the swap! LOL). The editor wants a photo/text how-to article with blueprints on the conversion. So, out with the digicam and wrenches! Bridget's gonna be a STAR!
  19. Thanks, Dolly! This isn't what I was seeking out to begin with, but then again sometimes the kewl stuff in life finds you instead of the other way around, right? That's the beautiful mystery of life...
  20. Dang, Chris! Your license history is identical to mine! I got my M3 (All motorcycles) at 25, too! I don't know what I'd do without my license and my car...driving is my PASSION (Especially fast)! Motorcycling used to be a bigger passion, but with my bad back and legs, I was forced to sell the bike in early 2004 ('78 GoldWing, full dress). To compensate, I drive a 1987 Nissan Pulsar: Hot Red with t-tops, black interior, pop-up headlights, stereo, kewl wheels and all. It spoils me rotten! "Bridget", my baby
  21. OMG....opened my e-mail and the Chief Editor of Nissan Performance Magazine writes, asking: "I've followed your rear disc-brake conversion thread on your '87 Pulsar and your interest in performing a yet-undone engine swap...I would like you to do a write-up of your projects for the magazine, let me know what you've got so far. --M. Young" I spilled my coffee...my finches screamed me out for it. I never would've ever remotely dreamed this would happen! I'm SO psyched!
  22. Opening another's mail is against the law, regardless of the relationsip between addressee and opener. I think jimmy's parents have issues...
  23. I did buy the 4-set DPF hypno CDs: Level 4, solo baby, Always Wet, and it did work, but it takes time and repetition. And it takes willingness to be able to accept the suggestions. Some people aren't open to suggestion like others, and thus it won't work. But yes, they do work for those that go along with it.
  24. The last time I showed off my Gentiles my rabbi just about ripped me a new one. "You keep your Goyim (Gentiles) to yourself! Oy gevalt"
  25. Did anyone ever notice that this knick-knack is nicked?
