  1. Been in super messy and very thick diapers to lots of baseball games. After all the liquids I consume at those games, especially the extra innings ones, thick diapers are an absolute necessity for me.
  2. I agree that Brett did a good job representing the community at large, and was very pleased/surprised that the segment didn't get edited to make us look like monsters, IMHO. I was also impressed with Dr. Phil's sensitivity and, frankly, knowledge over the issue. He understood the difference between DL and AB, and articulated it well. I was also surprised and interested to learn that he said at the beginning that he has been in this progression for 33 years, and has come across other AB's, and not one of them was willing to "give it up" (count me in that camp). This was much better than obviously Stanley's segment and certainly the Jerry Springer episode, and I do feel like Brett did a good job of bringing positive awareness to our community.
  3. I think people are being too harsh on DD, personally. Yes, I agree that many of the sites are, um, well, disgusting that are advertised here, but I just choose not to go to them. I do enjoy the info and camaraderie here and am grateful for that. I also am re-evaluating my purchases with ABU. I do love the Super-Dry-Kids diapers, and the other discounts that they frequently offer. I also did order a bag of the BMX diapers when they first came out, and am regretting that decision. I am hoping "they" know that they were for me, and not for somebody else. I like the diapers, but in retrospect, they are overpriced and for that and these other new revelations, I won't be ordering those again. Guess I should just stick with the reputable Bambino's and other "regular" less exciting diapers.
  4. Yes, and noticed it is more expensive than just buying a case of one type of their diapers.
  5. I agree that he needs to be potty-trained, but 2 is too early to panic by a long-shot. If he isn't ready, back off, let him stay in diapers, and potty-train him when he is..and don't worry, he will be soon enough.
  6. People above likely have it right. As a former grocery manager of a grocery store, I can tell you that diapers traditionally have some of the poorest return on shelf space. Diapers generally have low profit margins/mark-ups, and take up a lot of shelf space to begin with, so this is likely why they are not gender specific anymore; this is also likely why many retailers, especially smaller stores, don't carry Pampers Size 7...there simply isn't enough shelf space.
  7. I was in night diapers until age 5 (not sure if that counts as "bed-wetting" or just late potty-training). As mentioned above, the diapers in the 80's were larger than they are today by a long-shot, so that was likely what bedwetters wore during that time frame.
  8. Oh come on BriGuy, you're smart enough to know that this idiot isn't/shouldn't be a reflection on the community in general.
  9. Thank God that Depends are still plastic backed. They're the only diaper readily available in stores that I buy anymore (rest I buy obviously on-line). I also agree that their tapes rock.
  10. It's a pity that both aby.com, and especially your site, Diapers4me, are both gone. I liked aby.com, but loved your site. Thankfully we still at least have DD.
  11. I voted Pampers, though I believe that I grew up in primarily Luvs and Huggies. For the record, I can still fit into Pampers Size 7 and Luvs Size 6.

  13. I used to live in such a complex in college, and WORKED at the front desk as well, so I had double the worry factor. I can honestly say, I probably on average had about 3 shipments of diapers come in PER WEEK from e-bay, etc., and never aroused suspicion as far as I know, and nothing was ever said.
  14. This is great to hear! Congrats, and don't push your luck!
  15. As stated earlier in this thread, I am a very frequent flier. I almost always fly in thick diapers. Thankfully, believe it or not, I have yet to be subjected to the new pat-down, and have not been through a body scanner, either. As I wear thick disposables, I have not set off the metal detector, and thus have never had an issue. I almost always carry LOTS of diapers in my carry-on, and have yet to be questioned on it. I'd say don't worry about it. Based on my experience with the TSA, when you do set off the metal detector (it sounds like in your case this is a certainty) they will subject you to the pat-down. Just let them know, if asked, that you are incontinent and wear diapers and more then likely they'll not say another word about it. Hope this helps!
  16. It depends how lazy I am feeling and/or whether or not I am in a hurry. I typically diaper myself while laying down, and this is my preferred way of doing it, as I was obviously diapered this way as a kid, but when in a hurry or am too tired to lay down, I do it standing up. Obviously when I powder/oil myself, I do it lying down, too.
  17. I can't believe what a bunch of nerds we are...we're looking up money laundering nerds in the dictionary. FWIW, I do believe that there is a correlation between nerdiness and AB/DL, though I can't offer any statistical data to truly correlate the two. Based on my years of observation, however, and the fact that I, for better or worse, would fall under the "nerd category" in many respects, I do support the theory levied by the OP.
  18. Count me in the group that has too many to count. I'd guess somewhere in the 1500-2000 range. But I disagree with the earlier assertion that if you know how many you have, you aren't an ABDL. As the poster above me wrote, you could just be poor, or can't hide them all, or whatever. I do agree, however, that there is no such thing as too many diapers!
  19. Wow...I'd probably throw up if you said that to me. TMI. Truly disgusting.
  20. It seems that the diaper community, here and elsewhere, is rejoicing that it has been gone for the last month or so...you think he'd get the hint.
  21. I'm with others who have posted in this thread, I've had a diaper fetish for as long as I can remember, at least back to my toddler years...so it does seem to be possible.
  22. I just ordered 2 packs of Abena X-Plus, Underpads, and Pampers Baby Wipes
