  1. If this helps anyone ,good. As a full time abena xplus user I know of the ups and downs . But if you need to buy some specify expiration date of 2015 on the box or bags . These are the best batch i have had in a long time. As good as the first time I used them years ago.
  2. I agree with DailyDi always start a trip dry, you never know when you will be able to change. Also start out fresh for bed , normaly i dont leak but on the rare occasion I feel into a deep sleep without changing I leaked.
  3. As a truck driver who regularly has to deal with officers, (Border ,Patrol cops, DOT officers) When I am subjected to any kind of personal search I usually just say fine ,but I would appreciate discretion. They are under rules of conduct and need to uphold them . Maybe im lucky but i have never been embarresed by their actions Any officer has always been respectful, as a matter of fact I have never even been questioned as to why I am wearing diapers (even though i have a 14inch scar across my stomach if they did ask). As far as rights go I have seen a lot of crap on the road and as long as the officer is polite I dont care what they do (I have nothing to hide) some of these officers go through hell in the course of their days. To tell you the truth sometimes they seem relieved when I just step back and say do what you must.
  4. I agree with the Abriform being the best . I have tried the Bambinos but just cant get them to work as well as the Abriform(Xplus by the way) I would not even consider changing brands , but the one thing about the Abriforms are they are inconsistent from case to case . They are always better than depends or tena but to be frank some cases are better than others. By the way why go through the trouble of using a booster pad, just go with the better product. In my experience if you need a booster your just looking for trouble (in the day time) boosters lead to leaks because the elastic legs and waist dont seal as well with the added bulk of a booster
  5. I dont generally worry about leaks or crinkle sounds, I worry about odor. If I have been out for a while and have to change, where i change isnt home and try as i might I just dont get as clean as i would like. After a while I know I start to smell a little. The plastic backing while it helps leaks also holds in odor and if compressed ( as in sitting ) and air is squeezed out I can tell it smells.
  6. All day everyday no choice. no big deal when you have to.
  7. Interesting . Do i feel shame about my diapers. Well I did at first ,anyone would ,trying different products. when you have never done it before and buy the first thing on the shelf ,what a nightmare. They all seem to leak and bunch .plus your sure everyone knows. Then time goes by ,I found there were better products, In general how to deal better. Then I just stopped caring what others thought,I have a supportive wife and family and the few friends who know have never even brought it up, I cant help what I do and there is no shame in it. At the end of the day no strangers can tell and If they did so what. One of the other posters has a little slogan about "the only thing worse than a leaking diaper is leaking without a diaper on" and that has proven true .To get to the question In my experience the people who feel shame are generally newcomers to the problem with no confidence. In time hopefully they can gain confidence and become empowered. I think there is a fine line between Shame and Embarrasment
  8. I have and use plastic pants on occasion if needed but I agree that the best way to avoid leaks is to change at regular intervals. If you dont push the better diapers past saturation you will have no problems.(I.E. abena or molicare (still have not decided if Bambino fits in this catagory)) The rare times I worry about having a place to change are when I will use plastic pants.
  9. John I have to agree with the other posts. No one will know if they are not looking. Sounds that are loud to you are most likely not loud to them. It has been nearly 9 years for me 24\7 and no one has ever noticed or said anything to me. If anyone noticed they had the class not to mention it or adress it in any way. No one ever notices the bulk, and in my opinion I would rather have someone notice the diaper than wet pants or worse. Better be safe than sorry. Race
