  1. Well, let's see here. Under the sink in each of my bathrooms, in my car, in my desk at work, and in a bag that I have with me most of the time.
  2. In my case I leak non stop. More like a dribble, but I do flood laying down or getting in/out of a car.
  3. The Dry24/7 are the best extended wear diaper out there in MY opinion. They are the best for night use so that you dont have to worry about getting up to change. They do hold a lot, and I mean a lot and the more a diaper holds then you have other issues with being discreet so they are a bit more dificult to hide for day use. I recently flew across the country and I had no issues with leaks at all, and I went almost 9 hours. But remember to wear clothes that hide an extended wear diaper.
  4. I personally have had a pretty good experience with the Loma Linda Urology Dept of the VA. They can not seem to locate the cause of the problem, so that means I have gone through many, many diffeent tests. The latest diagnosis is neurogenic bladder. They know that since my accident I have been completely bladder incontinent, and partial bowel only with sciatica flare ups (the most pain I have EVER experienced...ever!) As far as getting my supplies from the VA, I will pass. They will provide me some low quality diapers that are way more trouble then they are worth, so I just get my own. Now, if I could get the Attends with waistband (3 tape ones) for day use and Secure X-Plus for night/extended wear I would be extremely happy!
  5. I think incontinence feels different for most people. In my case it is a result of a motorcycle accident and I have what is called nuerogenic bladder and partial bowel, and that means I dribble urine with no sensation that I am leaking at all. Depending on how much I drink depends on how much/fast I leak. I think it is really wierd, because no matter how much I squeeze my muscles it has no affect on my leakage. As far as how it feels well, it feels like nothing. Except for making sure I monitor how damp my diaper is, there isn't much else to it. Now when I was told I had to wear diapers (at the age of 27) I was both mad, and extremely embarrassed, that was until I had my first accident in public, then I couldn't be caught without wearing one. It was simple with me, I am more affraid of having another accident, then I am of wearing a diaper.
  6. Nullo, and Shower to Shower powder, and you are good to go!
  7. I selected "other" as for me it is the heat, and sweating.
  8. Hey Bobby, First off as a former Marine, how are you not being medically discharged due to your issue? I have seen many Marines medically discharged over much smaller issues. I deal with the Loma Linda VA Urology on a pretty regular basis and they usually do their best to take care of me (note that I said their best). Semper Fi, Mike
  9. I wear in public everyday. No biggie, you get over it real quick!
  10. When I have been in relationshisp I always let girl know that when I tell her that "I need to make a call" that means I need to change. Or if she wants to make sure I don't forget she will ask if I missed that call, and nobody thinks anything. But that is code words only when we are around people.
  11. I don't have control, and been that way since 1997. Bladder is no biggie, it's the other that's hard to deal with!
  12. It my experience it can range from the simple ultra-sound to see how much urine your bladder is retaining to having a camera put inside you via your urethra (and YES it hurts!). My advice is to do all the test one time, and after that don't do them again. I have issues that don't fall into the typical catagory so they label my incontinence as a "neurogenic bladder". Good Luck!
  13. I agree completely with you. Why correct them, if thay want to call it something different, so be it...who cares? I personally don't see the logic in trying to correct a Doctor. They just want to be politically correct, that's all.
  14. My urologist calls them "protective undergarments".
  15. I don't understand the "shame" issue at all. I mean if you have incontinence then it is real simple, have accidents, or wear protection. When I talk to others about it and they always ask if I get embarassed wearing diapers I always say "no, why would I, leaking in public is WAY worse than wearing anything under my pants", and that's is exactly what the bottom line is. Yes, there are caths, clamps, and other devices, but for me personally a diaper works the best. There is no shame, sure in sucks on hot days, or when you can't change and you really need to, but what is worse, having an accident? Also, I would like to add that if you feel shame, and akward about wearing diapers so will the people around you. If you are confident and secure then people around you wont feel "wierd" about you wearing.
  16. I agree the Abriform X-plus is great for night or extended day use. I prefer the Attends with waistband for day use because of the fit and easy to conceal.
  17. I have complete bladder and partial bowel incontinence and I have dealt with leaks and found what works (for me). To answer your questions the best pull-up is the Abena Abri-Flex protective underwear. These work well for a "pull up", but it is still just a "pull up". For night time leaks you will have to wear a quality diaper...period! I have tried every possible option, and found that if you use a "standard" quality diaper as soon as you sleep on your side you will leak (unless you use a very good booster pad). I personally prefer the Abena Abri-Form briefs for night time (or daytime extended wear) use, and I rarely have issues with leaks. I found that if you put a booster pad over your penis (with it pointing down) and then your diaper it is VERY rare that you will leak, the drawback is that this combination is expensive...but it works, and works very well. As a matter of fact I have found that if you use a high quality booster pad even with the Attends with waistband diapers it works very good for leaks as well, but you might have to change during the night, but with the Abena's you can go all night without changing due to leaks.
  18. Angela, I agree 100% with changing the disposables way before they are soaked. I personally think a quality booster pad is a million times better than plastic pants. As a guy that sees his diapers as "underware" it is tough to feel like a guy wearing plastic pants..lol! For day use I prefer the Attends with waistband with the Abena Maxi booster pad, and that for me is the winning combination. I can easily go 3/4 of a day with no worries of a leak, but I prefer to change at least 4 times a day and I found with the booster pads plastic pants are not needed at all.
  19. Hey John, I can feel your pain. I went through a lot after my accident and it seemed as though nobody could pinpoint the issue until they did a Electromyogram (EMG). It seemed like the doctors had no clue with me for awhile, then I was sent to a "Urologist Specialist" and she quickly found the issues. But be careful that finding the issue(s), and fixing it are completely different! Even after just about every test and medications known to man I still leaked, maybe not as bad, or it would partially fix the bladder but not the bowels or vise versa. I appreciate all the Doctors have done, but after all the false hope, and being violated many times, it is not worth it. Just learn to live with it, and move on in life.
  20. As a person that in incontinant I never wear plastic pants for several reasons. First of all if you change as you are suppose to then you don't really need them. Also, I found that I would sweat real bad when I wore them. The other issue I had was when I do a "quick change" or change in the car the plastic pants just get in the way BIG TIME. Personally for me they are more trouble then they are worth. I simply wear a disposable diaper and when I need to change I do, and it keeps eveything simple.
  21. I ride every chance I get, and even though I don't wet for fun I know what you mean about being soaked to the max. My biggest issue is that I ALWAYS end up leaking if I am not careful on how much I drink. And btw, it is impossible to change your diaper wearing those one piece leathers...that is why I always end up leaking....
  22. If you leak without control then do what I do, and use a penis clamp and drink a ton of water, and then release the clamp and you will have your sample. If you are incontinant then your urologist would have suggested the clamp for control early on. I hate the clamp as you can leak, and is uncomfortable for prolonged useage and it doesn't help with fecal incontinence.
  23. I can only speak and offer advice from my experiences. First of all you need to look at your options such as having accidents in public, or wearing protection i.e. diapers. I am more affraid of having accidents then I am of wearing diapers, and that is the first step in dealing with wearing in public. Then once you find the correct diaper then it becomes no different than wearing regular underware, except that you change during the day. You must have confidence, and if you really have incontinence then wearing in public is a relief, not stressful, as I said before there is nothing more stressful then having accidents in public.
  24. I have a couple of "things" that drive me crazy! I hate it when you start leaking as you are changing. The absolute worse is when you finish your change and as you pull your pants up the handle on the zipper rips your diaper.....that really gets to me!!!!!!
