  1. No, but here's my answer to the OP in the thread: I have too many degrees..
  2. People talk alot about unemployment on this board lately. But break the statistics down by educational level, and you'll find that the rate is still only 4-5% for people with professional degrees, even when it's 15%+ for those without college degrees... So yes, even though others on this forum disagree, I'd say having some kind of valuable technical skill earned through years of study is pretty key to riding through economic downturns.
  3. DD(1) BSD General Commands Manual DD(1) NAME dd -- convert and copy a file SYNOPSIS dd [operands ...] DESCRIPTION The dd utility copies the standard input to the standard output. Input data is read and written in 512-byte blocks. If input reads are short, input from multiple reads are aggregated to form the output block. When finished, dd displays the number of complete and partial input and output blocks and truncated input records to the standard error output.
  4. Employment is more about who you know than what pieces of paper you have. This is why some colleges are more expensive than others. You're applying to a social club more than a vocation. To answer OP: Yes, I have them, but not going to disclose what. I'll just note that I have also observed many STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) people in the AB/DL community. Of course, impossible to know if it's just correlating people who are heavy internet users, although it is more interesting to think about the personality types involved. Geeks are used to being on the fringe already -- being kinky as well isn't too big a leap.
  5. I walk by a hospital on my commute, so I've had several 100% certain sightings. But of course they don't count. I do think that most people who are "on the lookout" for sightings let their imaginations get the better of them -- there is a photo thread on ABKingdom that is 1000% wishful thinking.
  6. Ok. I have seen the commercial several times, and it has really stuck with me. I think the point of the commercial is to suggest that a normal, mundane thing (e.g. a family-friendly compact SUV, what people used to call a minivan) has a secret inner life, that the outside appearance doesn't tell the whole story at first glance. The fantasy-nature and novelty of the concept grabs your attention, and you watch the fun adventures the dolls are having. Repeated shots of the car associate this with the product. It makes you wonder what you're doing wrong with your life, if your car doesn't instill this kind of excitement and adventure -- which are classic themes used to market cars. http://www.kia.com/#/sorento/hop-in?sorentoMinisitePage=video-joy-ride Transcripts: Open on a sunny city street. All is quiet. Suddenly, a Sorento accelerates and comes bounding over a hill in slow motion. We see that behind the wheel is a human-sized sock monkey. Music: the heavy, “how you like me know
  7. ABDLs in history? Oh, I can think an incident way back in the year two-thousand-nine involving a certain politician..
  8. I'm a software engineer, particularly web apps, but too busy to help with anything at the moment...
  9. I'd probably put DL/AB at about 1 in 10,000 people. So, in a town of any size it's possible. Not really likely, though. Think about the % of time you'd exhibit obvious DL/AB characteristics in public and figure out the probability you'd see it in the wild.
  10. Perhaps you won't mind if your coworkers start storing their fetish paraphernalia in the office as well.
  11. I think you are conducting a serious privacy breach discussing this using *ANY* part of a real email address. Google is powerful enough tool to quickly reconstruct the rest in most cases. You should either edit it out of the thread or make up a similar address fragment that illustrates the point without using any part of the real address.
  12. Hi, did you have any success?
