  1. Really? The Luvs pinstripes (for boys) and roses (for girls) didn't come out until 1990. If your age listed here is correct, then you likely wore the same plain white Pampers or Luvs that I did. If you were lucky you had the first hourglass-shaped Luvs with elastic leg gathers. I have some of the rosebud ones, but I don't think I have any of the pinstripes. If I did, I'd send you one to give to your mom! Wonder what she'd say if you walked up and handed her a pinstriped baby diaper?
  2. attends_99 will try to convince you he's thick, and soft, and smells wonderful, and has a smooth white plastic cover. But I hear PaperPak bought him, and put him on a diet, and covered him in ickky cloth-like fuzz. Now he's not as soft, not as absorbent, and doesn't smell nice.
  3. Woah, there, Aurelius! I don't think you're giving the kid very sound advice. While the egg is only available for fertilizing for a few days per month, the window for impregnation is far wider because sperm can live and swim happily for a while. The "risky" days are almost half the month! See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:SDM-circle3.svg I have to disagree, for two reasons. 1. There are sperm in pre-ejaculate that would be quite happy to get her pregnant. If you do a little research, the effectiveness of the "pull-out" method of contraception is 70-80%. That means 20-30% of the time, it's NOT! 2. It is instinctive (and feels GREAT) to ejaculate inside. If you are preoccupied with deciding when you should pull out, or if you find yourself with that much control in every time you have sex, I think you're missing out on the primal part of the experience. While I agree that STDs are not his worry, I don't think arguing FOR unprotected sex is ever a responsible thing to do. Educate folks on the risks, then let them weigh those risks before proceeding. But "probably won't get her pregnant" and "not that easy to transmit disease" is not the kind of thoughts people should be making important decisions on. Having unprotected sex is an IMPORTANT decision in life, because it affects both the partners, and potentially, the life of a brand new human being! While that's true, there's absolutely no reason to believe this young man's swimmers are lazy! All it takes is looking at population growth stats to know that the majority of men have perfectly potent sperm. Now, I'm not saying to never have unprotected sex. What I'm saying is, do your research and understand the risks before engaging in unprotected sex. If you're confident your partner is clean and you're ready to take on the responsibility of raising a child, then by all means, knock boots au naturale! And sex isn't much fun when you're worried about something like STDs or pregnancy (or anything else, really), so if donning a jimmy-hat can alleviate that stress, the do it! All that said, Aurelius, I hope you don't think I'm attacking you; I'm really not, I just feel very strongly about the consequences of unprotected sex.
  4. DailyDi, I have a 12" PowerBook G4, 1.0GHz in good working condition. The battery doesn't hold much of a charge, but that's the only functional issue I know of. It has OS X 10.3 loaded now, but will run the latest if you wish to upgrade. I believe it has either 384MB or 512MB of memory, but (no pun intended) I can't remember exactly. Will send you full specs when I get home if you're interested. They're going on eBay for between $200-$300, so I can't quite justify giving it away, but I'd give you a great "diapered friend" discount, or perhaps a barter? Don't you run Diaper Cuties? And Kudos to you for wanting to get into Macs. I fix PC problems all day, so when I actually want to *enjoy* using a computer, I go home and fire up the iMac! I think you'll like what OS X has to offer, even on 4-year-old hardware. Cheers!
  5. I'm curious, what kind did you get? I've been looking for a thin, discreet diaper myself. The Depend "regular absorbency" ones and the Molicare Classic diapers are about the thinnest, most discreet I've tried. To answer your question, I've found that relaxed-fit jeans work fine, as do baggy shorts. What you're trying to avoid is a tight inseam where the padding of the diaper can be seen. Add that to a long T-shirt, or an untucked golf shirt, and you're all set. Of course, it's not likely anybody will being paying enough attention to notice. I've even looked for diapers before on people I thought were likely to be in them, but have never been 100% sure. And I know what to look for! I don't even think they make the regular Depend diapers anymore, just the Maximum Protection ones (which are still pretty thin). Can anybody confirm that?
  6. Welcome aboard, Cherie! Art is often a reflection of imperfection. Are you a work of art?
  7. What kind of comments does the doc have? I figured doctors would see a diaper and then try to do something with drugs or surgery to "solve" the problem. Ever get any comments from others at the pool?
  8. The first thing that popped into my head was the sex education scene from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life! "What's wrong with a kiss, boy? Hmm? Why not start her off with a nice kiss? You don't have to go leaping straight for the clitoris like a bull at a gate. Give her a kiss, boy!"
  9. I don't live in Singapore, but I'm hoping to get to the Grand Prix in September. Any of you Singapore AB/DLs want to meet up for the race?
  10. Getting her pregnant without intending to will take away from the whole experience too! As for condoms, I think they can sometimes make sex better, actually, and there are good ones and there are bad ones. These are the best, in my opinion: http://www.condomdepot.com/product/detail....id/238/pid/2105 And congratulations on your engagement!
  11. Hey, you could use a condom. Then you don't have to worry about getting baby powder, or a whole baby inside her!
  12. Although the consensus is that most folks are oblivious to us wearing a diaper, TWO might be pushing the limits of inconspicuousness. I'm curious, how did your manager ask the question? Nervously, like it was an uncomfortable subject, or loud and confidently, or casually? Cheers!
  13. Can you settle the debate about whether the new ones have cloth-like covers, or did they keep the smooth plastic most of us love? Thanks!
  14. Speedy_d: I'm holding a bag for you; waiting for shipping address. Nemesis_Wolf_DL: Email me your address and I'll get a bag on the way. ultrapampers (at) gmail (dot) com. You can buy me a beer at Hale's next time I'm in Seattle, how's that sound? Other than you two, there didn't seem to be much interest. I guess the shipping charges scare folks away. So, I listed them on craigslist not expecting much response, and, much to my surprise, the rest were spoken for in a matter of hours. So, to summarize: THEY'RE GONE!
  15. I don't live in New Jersey so I can't add much to the thread, but I just wanted to say ^^^ that is awesome! Your wife's support of your AB/DL side would make for a nice topic on its own.
  16. Speedy_d's: PM or email (ultrapampers at gmail dot com) your address and I'll get a bag on the way. You can just pay the actual shipping cost by money order, check, or PayPal when you receive them. Repaid1: I couldn't tell from your reply if you wanted some or not; it seems like you're conflicted! If you do, PM or email me your address. So, 1 bag of Supers down, 2 to go. I also have 3 bags of Ultra Plus, the main difference being they don't have standing leg gathers (AKA leakguards): http://www.megacareline.com/megacareline/ultra_plus.html Cheers!
  17. I'm in central North Carolina, but I'd gladly venture west to meet up sometime in the NC/TN mountains. I have a scoot and a couple of fun cars, so I'd love to join in a diapered Deal's Gap run too! Just let me know if I can help get something organized.
  18. I have a few 24-count bags of Mega CareLine Super diapers, size SMALL (fits 20" - 31" waist). They're unopened and from a nonsmoking, pet-free home. A mistake on the online order page got me the wrong size. Nice. More information on these diapers here: http://www.megacareline.com/megacareline/super.html ONE bag per person, please. Free for local pickup in the Triangle area, NC, USA, or I'll ship them at your cost. If you reply with a really good hard-luck story, maybe I'll ship 'em for free too! Cheers!
  19. Okay, this is a go! See Announcement: North Carolina Ab/dl Brunch Munch and RSVP there. Fellow Carolina ABs, DLs, Furries, et al., Would there be any interest in a munch in the Triangle area in early May? If I knew at least a handful of people would show up, I'd gladly organize it. I know a few fun places to meet up, and have an idea or two for making it a fun get-together! I'm thinking a Saturday, May 2 or May 9, would work best, but am open to other dates based on folks' availability. Cheers, ultrapampers
  20. Welcome to Daily Diapers, baby tracie! Your handle, "littlegirl alone", is kind of sad. Remember, you are never alone here!
  21. It's possible they're using the Diaper Fresh or Powder Fresh scents from this supplier: http://www.mommiesscents.com/products.htm I bought both of those a while back and was disappointed that they do not smell quite like that original Pampers scent (which is most closely matched, in my opinion, by the scent of today's Luvs diapers). I'd give anything for a diaper that truly smelled like '70s and '80s Pampers, but am not getting my hopes up. I am tempted to order some of the ABU scented diapers though just to see, and if I do, I'll report back.
  22. I have some European Pampers Baby-Dry size 6 which are considerably longer and wider than the US Pampers size 6 or 7 you're used to: http://www.flickr.com/photos/vintagepampers/2662233413/ I'd be glad to mail you a sample if you'd like to try one.
  23. No mention of diapers in the article, but if they start charging for using the toilet on aircraft, I won't be the only adult aboard wearing a diaper! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7914542.stm I think I'll open a diaper stand in my local airport.
  24. I wore one to the gym for the first time this past Monday, then did it again Wednesday. I was wearing a Depend diaper and I have to say, it held up amazingly well to all the motion and sweat. I wore it under jogging pants and, being a thin diaper, I doubt anyone would notice. I actually used the diaper as incentive to go the gym. I said to myself, "If you'll go to the gym you can wear a diaper, but if you don't go, you can't wear one." It worked: I got my diapered butt to the gym! Don't worry about the noise; the noise of the elliptical machine and the music blaring will drown any noise a diaper could make. Have a great workout!
  25. I wear a diaper to bed every night, but don't need one (at least not in a medical sense). In fact, I prefer my diapers dry, so I get up and go to the toilet in the middle of the night, if needed. I'm sure many of you would think it strange not to use a diaper if you've got one on, but there you have it. Stay dry and happy (or wet, if you prefer)!
