      Nobody's mentioned "USENET".... I discovered "alt.sex.fetish.diapers" and "alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.diapers" back in the 90s and that was my first exposure to this world.   USENET was 100% text and globally distributed.  So downloading pictures wasn't clicking on a link.  You had to download the text embedded in the message (actually multiple messages), reassemble the raw text, and then run it through a decode program to reconstruct the binary image (back then .GIF was the only format viable for internet distribution).   I still have dozens of pictures I had downloaded from USENET. As far as early sites, the one I frequented before finding this site was WetSet.net.  Then it went to a pay format and only the legacy stuff was left open to the public.

      Also something I was very guilty of, and somehow didn't seem to learn through repeated experiences that the 'just a bit' tactic was not sustainable and never really worked as I imagined it would. Or if it was just bit by bit, it wasn't like, a proper accident or something like that. I think tunnel visioning on whatever was distracting me didn't help as I'd just alternate between snapping my attention between that and my need to go. I kind of wish I could achieve the same effect now, I can certainly replicate it to some extent but it doesn't have quite that same abandon!
