  1. Nappisam, why should there be any ill feelings towards you? I had a homemade stent get lost on me too. It proved to be a very embarrassing day at the emergency room. Fortunately they were able to fish it out of me without cutting. I also use a Foley catheter cut to 4.5". My go to size is an 18FR with a 5ML balloon inflated to the equivalent of a 30FR cath. I use a screw cap with a center hole for drainage to cover the cut end. As for plugging the fill line I found 18 gauge stainless steel wire at the craft store. For safety and easy removal I use sewing thread doubled up and tided to a O ring that fits over my shaft. Takes me about five minutes to make one. For reuse I first wash the stent with an antibacterial soap before storage. When I'm ready for reuse the stent is soaked in 99% alcohol for ten minutes and allowed to air dry before insertion. As for discomfort I find the more I use a stent the less I notice it all.
  2. For what its worth, about $10.00 a gallon try some liquid plumber. If there is a clog in the piping it may work it loose. A house call for a plumber will easily be a few hundred.
  3. Just north of Phila here. I went out to fill the bird feeders, at 11AM it was 12 deg F today. Within five minutes being outside without gloves my fingers were showing the early signs of frostbit. I quickly found some warm gloves.
  4. Already have the snow blower fueled up and in the garage. With the addition of sever icing added to our local forecast I'm thinking of bring the generator in from the barn now. Plus get some extra gas on hand just in case an extended power outage. With this kind of weather I may start suffering from PMS anytime now. For those that don't ride that's Parked Motorcycle Syndrome. What did you think I meant?
  5. Mostly the free shipping, some prime videos. Would be nice if the offer a free shipping package without the music and video for a lower cost.
  6. I use the same design using a 18FR cath. To fill I use sterile KY lube. The balloon when filled is about equal to 24FR in size. The sterile lube being much thicker that water and is slower to leak plus safe if it does leak. 1/8/25 correction, the 24FR balloon has become too small to stay in place. I have increase the balloon size to 30FR or roughly 10.2mm. I have plenty of urethral play experience so the larger size will not be an issue for me. As always play safe.
  7. So you place this stent and forget about it. No weekly / monthly cleaning. OK then. Be safe.
  8. Faint at heart,,,, I'll say. You are not using a retrieval line. I guess I have to catch up on my reading here.
  9. Thanks for the info on the Ziron OS. I may give this a go on an older laptop. This older PC was originally running win 10 but I pushed win 11 on it when MS reduced the OS hardware requirements. Ziron sound like a good solution to a slow machine. Two days later, I installed Linux Zorin, the free version on an older laptop. WOW, it has brought new life to an eight year old laptop. After completing the installation I spent some time learning my way around. All in All its a lot like windows but without all the bloatware that strangles an OS. I loaded Firefox and added all my favorites. To sum it up, an I5 quad core processor with 16MB of ram running Linux Zorin when browsing the web is preforming about equal to twelve core I7 with 32MB of ram. Very impressed. Thank you for the recommendation.
  10. Have you noticed how eating asparagus can make your pee smell really bad for the next 12-18 hours?
  11. I love my stent and look forward to every opportunity to use it. I'm not sure if my body has become more comfortable with it but now a days I don't even know its there. I have to say thank you to this board and everyone that has precipitated in the subject. Without everyone's help this would not be possible.
  12. To the original poster, George. OMG you have a lifetime supply there.
  13. I wore secretly for 28 years, Then when my last son moved out getting his own place I decided it was time to discuss this with the wife. I figured and was prepared to be tossed to the curb for all this. She accepted it well. Not well enough to diaper me but accepting enough that I no longer try to hide things. Things between us are better that ever, so all in all telling her has worked out great for me.
  14. Great post. I strongly agree with many of your comments however I find it interesting that the NIH is recommending the use of tap water for bladder irrigation. I'm still not sure I would trust tap water for irrigation but if it can reduce the use of antibiotics it may be worth a go. For the most part following your guideline I avoid UTI's
  15. YES, here in Eastern PA using FIOS around 3PM Saturday 10/18 we lost all internet connection for about 10 minutes. Strange, FIOS is normally rock solid 24/7.
