  1. I wore secretly for 28 years, Then when my last son moved out getting his own place I decided it was time to discuss this with the wife. I figured and was prepared to be tossed to the curb for all this. She accepted it well. Not well enough to diaper me but accepting enough that I no longer try to hide things. Things between us are better that ever, so all in all telling her has worked out great for me.
  2. Great post. I strongly agree with many of your comments however I find it interesting that the NIH is recommending the use of tap water for bladder irrigation. I'm still not sure I would trust tap water for irrigation but if it can reduce the use of antibiotics it may be worth a go. For the most part following your guideline I avoid UTI's
  3. YES, here in Eastern PA using FIOS around 3PM Saturday 10/18 we lost all internet connection for about 10 minutes. Strange, FIOS is normally rock solid 24/7.
  4. My profile shows me joining Sept of 2005. Sounds like 20 years to me. Of course before DD there was the AOL chat rooms and the DPF site.
  5. WOW, very regrettable but things will happen. And you are not the first to loose a stent in your bladder. It happened to me but I was much luckier. In my case the retrial cord slipped inside. I tried searching for the cord with crochet hooks but no joy. At the hospital I was sedated and prepared for surgery. When I came to afterwards I was relieved to know they were able to remove the stent and avoid the surgery. I still enjoy my stent but it is with much caution when I do.
  6. Toddlecub, this post maybe of some help to you, Close to Incontinence with a catheter, Good luck, be safe and always use a retrieval cord.
  7. Guilty as charged I am. My stent design works for me and has helped others in developing their own stent(s).
  8. I will have to check the local stores for the XXL Goodnights . Back about 30 pounds ago I use to wear the XL goodnights as the first layer. Using a hobby knife I would poke holes throughout the Goodnights and wear under better quality diaper. This made for nice bulky feeling not to mention keeping things wet all around.
  9. Not sure if this would be helpful to anyone but a thrift store in Lower Bucks County PA has two full bin boxes of XXL medical grade diapers available. $4.00 per bag. At best they would be good for doubling up. Not looking to break any rules here so DM me for store name and location.
  10. WOW, you are lucky the stent floated out on its own. You may want to ask the doc to keep the deposit as a retainer, You know just in case it happens again,, just kidding.
  11. Spargano, Welcome to the club, the club of those that have had surgery to remove a lost stent. You will be lucky if they are able to fish it out without cutting you. I was knocked out for the procedure. When I came to the first thing I did was to uncontrollably soak the mattress pad under me. My guess is they had flushed my bladder a few times and left the last fill in me. There was a lot of bleeding but no stitches. I can't image the conversation with your wife about all this. To this day my wife only knows I was in the hospital most of one day. Believing she would not handle the truth this is a subject we don't discuss. Best of luck to you.
  12. I have experimented with a mallecote catheter. To insert I used a piece of stiff nylon line from the weed whacker. Sliding the line down inside the cath pushes the head forward collapsing the balloon head. For me it was more risk that I was will take.
  13. Excetly, Nothing is free. The big plus with the big A is the wide range of products available.
  14. I had an order from Dell for a desktop PC. The zip code was wrong. Correct street and house number but wrong town. When I discovered it, I drove to there and grabbed it off their porch. I guess in a way that make me a porch pirate for the day. Fortunately no one was home but they had a Ring camera. Who knows if anyone noticed it our not. I had with the Dell invoice with the shipment tracking in in case the police showed up. It happens.
  15. Not the easiest to insert or remove, requires a flexible rod be pushed up inside the tip to collapse the head. Once in place the rod is withdrawn while cath stays in place. To remove the rod is re-inserted. Not real common in the USA.
