Crinklz Kat Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Time for relevant funny meme! But, could it be something as simple as dirt stuck in the mechanism? 4
AbabeBill Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I’ll throw you a few extra “I’s” to use I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I , i i i i i i i i i i i i i 1
Babygeebee Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Probably worth turning it upside down and giving it a good shake. 1 2
DailyDi Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 I gave it a handy blow job with the old can 'o air, and it doesn't seem to be helping. I thick the switch is going bad.

ValentinesStuff Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Are we sure that this isn't just Irritable Vowel Syndrome? 1

Pelusban Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Usually you can take the keyboard apart and clean the contacts under the keys. It depends on the type of the keyboard, but usually there is a PCB under a silicone rubber sheet and you can clean the contacts on the panel with alcohol for example. There are contact cleaning sprays too and if you see oxidation on the contact (can't be an issue with gilded contacts), you can use some weak acids too. But sometimes it's enough to partially take it apart, as it can slightly change the position of the switches on the contacts. If the silicone is not a single sheet but every key has its own little silicone button it's probably better not to disturb it.
