I Need Your Input On This!

Recommended Posts

Hello again DailyD!!

Its been like ... a few months since i last came here so. HI! :D

Anyways lets get right down to business! Alright! I moved out of my folks home and i'm currently living alone! Yes alone, that means all the diaper goodness i want! Now the input i needed you guys on was on this question i asked myself:

I have a low budget right now BUT i thought in advance and saved up a few $$ when i was working and still living at my parents house so i could buy myself some new diaper stock~

Heres the thing though when this $$ gets depleted i won't have funds to buy diapers for quite a while D:, hence why i asked myself the question: Which diaper brand would be less expensive and get me the best absorbency and discreteness and have lots in a case for my $$? Now heres another thing, i plan to go 24/7, just to try it out you know, so in keeping that in mind i want functionality not looks or cuteness (although great ... their not good for the purpose of everyday life!).

My budget is 87$ CAD(Usable online through paypal), and another 100$ CAD not usable online (except if they take money orders :D).

Also, if you could give me tips on what to get if i plan on getting 24/7, even tips, it would be greatly appreciated :D~

Thank you very much for your time!

Hi Necros, have you considered Plastic Pants and Cloth Diapers now that you have some privacy ? :o

Cloth will last for ages and if taken care of correctly will be very absorbant and possibly even more economical than disposables.

Hope it works out well for you now you have gained your freedom and privacy!

Depending on where you buy cloth, they might be out of your budget reach. But cloth is the best way to go. I'd be wearing cloth now (I was raised on them) but money is really the only stopper on that tip. Other than that, I prefer Tena.

If you're going to wear 24/7 you better be over the embarrassment factor. Treat it like you have to wear them other than for the kink. This might also increase your diaper dependency, but I don't know your motivations there --take that as you will.

A 'super' diaper, with the heaviest absorbency is going to be expensive, depending on how many times you wet before you change. Me personally, I've learned NOT to sit with a wet bottom too long --it's not good for baby's delicate skin. So I only wear Tena supers to the bar/casino when I know I'm gonna get soaked and not wanna change 11ty billion times while I'm there. So I prefer the middle-of-the-road absorbency --Tena Classic Plus. Goto www.tena.us and click on dealer locator to find the store nearest you.

Congrats!

Hehe i appreciate the input but ...cloth isn't my kind of thing. I don't want to sound rude to all you people who wear cloth ... but i don't feel any kind of love for cloth like diapers D:, probably because i was raised on disposable diapers so i associate them with the feeling of being a baby ... and cloth well they do nothing XD~

Hmm interesting point i also use tena right now but i use their Ultra brand and not the classic plus. Their nice BUT i find they leak when i sit down and wet ... oh and i will be sitting down A LOT because i'm currently attending a university and some lectures can last a few hours ... with no option of change T-T

Anyways keep up the input =:D!

Peace~

First of all, nice to see you back, second Good for you your out on your own, it's expensive, I know it was when I was your age, and it much worse now.

You don't have to buy cloth diapers, you allready have some, there called bath towels, thats what I use for a change of pace, from the disposeables, all you need do is learn to fold them, so they fit you. I use the angel fold method, with a hand towel, or two as stuffers, it just absorbs more, and some big safty pins, and a large enough pair of plastic pants to contain it all, I use a medium over my disposeables,(snappy Plastic Pants) and a large over my cloth(towel) diaper.

It takes some trial and error to get them right, but for cheap everyday diapers you can't beat them, when you have bucks to buy your disposeables, use those, but when the bucks are low, it good to have something cheap you can use, and if you like an incredibly wet diaper you will love these, I mean totally wet, the whole dam diaper soaks up everthing, and talk about a big bulky diaper, these are obscene.

Look up diaper folding on the net and, check out the folds, what you need to do is just fold over the front of the diaper into the diaper, it just adds to the bulk, and absorbancy, it takes a little practice, but you will get it, and the waddel is something to see also.

Sounds as though you have tried several brands, or else my thought would be to try some of the places on the web who sell samples, in order to get a better idea of what will work for you. Only you can make that decision. Ultimately you will have to decide on that magical line of cost to benefits. Trying to save on cost and less benefits, that age old question.

As for cloth, there are many varieties of covering pants with different coverages, amounts of noise, crotch width, etc. But as you say you have grown up with disposables so feel more comfortable, but sometime in the future when you have more disposable funds, try a set, like disposables there are a variety of cloth, thicknesses, cuts, etc. to go along with the various covers.

May you find that level of happines you seek.

I wear Tena Ultras under jeans every day. No leaks, even while sitting. I guess they fit everyone a little different. Maybe try to get them a bit tighter, or dont wait so long between changings.

I feel the Tena are a good value: about $55 for 80 diapers. Thats a pretty good deal for a good quality diaper.

Good luck

If you have any Goodwill or Salvation Army stores in your area, check them out every week or so. Often you can find good brands of disposable adult diapers still in the package for 1/3 of what they cost new in the store. Look for any discount store and compair prices to find the best bargain. Also, don't overlook those store brands like Rite Aid and Wallmart. True, they won't be as good as TENA ABRI-FORM or other brands but you can usually get them on sale for a good price. Try a package on sale and see how they work for you.

Necros:

I don't have to worry about cost much, but I find that the Serenity/Tena pee pads added to the front of my diaper make it work a whole lot better for peeing. Get the ultimate absorbancy or the one just below it.

As for money orders, the web site you are ordering from is unreasonable if you can't print out the order form and send them an envelope with the money order. Just ask customer service. It's great for keeping an arm's length relationship, for example if you don't trust the vendor, and keeping your diaper activities secret from your bank. I've done this with at least two diaper vendors, including XP medical.

At least in the US, prepaid credit cards are also becoming available in the grocery stores, and offer another option. Personally, I don't trust Paypal.
