Chat Room Downtime Warning

We have a software update coming up that may break the chatroom code. If it does we expect it to be fixed swiftly, but there may be an outage of up to a day to allow the chat devs to see the errors in real time.

Presumably that's why the chat page is looking all funny right now and asking me for a password that I don't know, is it?

The chat's been up and stable since yesterday evening.  I left a connection running overnight and it was still active this morning.

It also appears that the long-standing bug preventing user list updates was squished.

OK ... that worked; but I don't seem to be able to hide the left panel. Have we lost that function?
