I don't think we are as far apart as the media wants us to believe.  The media is sold on rage because it's an easy sale.   I'm prone just as much as everybody else.  You hit me with a teacher story, and I'm ready to battle, and God forbid if it involves a student.

Interestingly, my dad and my stepmom (who are wonderful people) are both very conservative, yet most of their kids vote Democrat and not at all conservative.  If my dad asks why (FTR- I think he is smart enough to know why) I'm active in my union and supporting liberal causes- it's because he raised me to be selfless and think of the big picture

Like I said, I really consider myself a moderate more than a conservative. “If you’re not a liberal at 25, you are heartless, if you’re not a conservative by 35, you are mindless” (special props if you know who said that). I maintain my liberal social beliefs from my 20’s, I believe we all should have equal rights and equal opportunities, and if it doesn’t hurt anyone then you do you. All of my friends and both of my wives (ex and current, props to any man who can survive more than 1 wife at a time 🤷‍♂️😂) are either left leaning moderates or squarely left. I enjoy surrounding myself with people who have their own opinions and views, I don’t understand this modern idea that we all have to have the same opinions to be validated. I have genuinely enjoyed this discussion with you, because it didn’t digress into an angry, stubborn standoff that resulted in insults and vitriol

That's because she has literally no idea what she is talking about.   Her only outlet is rage, but rage is good for clicks.   I fall victim to it just as much as anybody.   I'm left- so I get caught up in things that get SJW up in rage, but it's all just rage porn.  Karen videos, police videos, and crap like this- it's rage porn.

PS- It's been 5 months, but I was referencing tradition from Fidler on Roof.

I'm different.  I was Republican until 2008.  I voted for Bush in 2000, and wrote-in McCain in 2004.  He picked the idiot from Alaska,  PS- if Biden had any guts/brains he would picked Tammy Baldwin as VP

If Biden had any common sense left, he would step down and let someone younger try to beat Trump. At this point I don’t know what scares me more, 4 more years of Biden or 4 more years of Trump. As much as I despise him, my wallet says to vote for Trump if those are the 2 choices
