Found an interesting article with doctors recommending diapers over the public loo...don't know if it is factual, but yikes now my fear of the plastic loo (porta-potty) has been increased...

It looks to me like they are NOT refering to public toilets in general, just non-fixed location ones (porta-johns).

Clearly, unless they are broken, a public toilet in a fixed location dose have plenty of ventalation, the water is changed frequently, and except for gas stations, they are cleaned way more then once a week - in fact at least the onse I come across, I notice at times they get cleaned several times a day.

Keep in mind that this article is from an Indian newspaper...not the cleanest of places anyway. Poo poo all over the place from cows, monkeys, dogs people etc! Even public toilets there are barely usable. Portapotties....wouldn't touch one!

Actually had a beggar throw shit on my shoes and then offer to clean it off for a fee!

Here's another vote for "accident forgiveness pants." I, too, avoid the "porta-potties" at all cost. I would much rather use my accident forgiveness pants!

where i live we have a very big music festavial each yr and thay use Porto Potties only problem is the Q's get sooooo big i mean a wait of 2-3 hrs in line that anyone whos been b4 now buy aduly diapers(nappies) from a local disabiltys supplyers thats up the road from the site and for the last 2 yrs thay have compleaty sold out and last yr thay tribbled there normal order for the 3 months b4 so thay had the stock and thay still sold out no b4 u ask i didnt buy dems all

Well, I had a portajohn set off an asthma attack one night....it wasn't pleasant, debating whether or not to go to the ER...

And, as for unclean johns, try Food Lion in this area..they don't seem to ventilate them so they smell like old pee....
