DPF gone and forgotten (Alas) for the old school it's a shame. Welcome to the Greatest site, since sliced bread. DPF did us all a great favor..took all our money and thoughts, and I guess back in the day showed us we were not alone. Your best bet is to post on here and check the "roster" on here, if they are still in the neighbor hood and active they are around here eventually. good luck on your search. And welcome to D-D.

I went to DPF.Com this morning and found this on the mainpage:

Friends,

I have a very important announcement to make regarding the future of our websites. Age and health issues have led Tommy to substantially reduce time and effort that he can devote to DPF. After 28 years of bringing the 'Happiness Club' to all of you, Tommy has decided to retire. Over the recent months, I have tried to keep an eye on the web sites and other DPF affairs, but other commitments make it impossible for me to put into DPF the time and energy that it deserves.

With the hope that some fellow DPF'er would want to continue supporting our special community, we are putting dpf.com, abyclub.com, babytalk and the yahoo store up for sale. The business has not only been profitable over much of its three decades, but personally rewarding.

If you have a serious desire to take over this business, contact me by email and we can discuss the details. I will, of course, be happy to help transition the business in any way possible.

It is a sad day indeed. What is really sad is that this doesn't come as a shock to most of us woing to the last few years DPF failing to update the site, member rosters and notifying prospective customers and members of their status. I really wish they had kept an open channel with the ABDL world.

DPF has had a vital role in the ABDL world. It was one of the first places I went when I discovered there were others like me who liked diapers and it has proved to be a great resource. I met my wife thru DPF and I wonder how many friendships and relationships came out of Tommy's club.

I must say, that those that found DPF, in the last 10 or so years you did in fact find the Man/Site that helped us all learn that we were not alone, except we delt with it 20 years before you. The advent of the internet was not new, but was restructured so that we could all use it. ( Note: No Mr. gore did not invent the internet, it was here longer than most peoples fathers, and certainly longer than AOHELL by a few decades, WWII is worth a google)

I learned who DPF (or what was to become) was back in 1980 (yeah before most of you, were born) Imagine what it was like for us, without the age of the internet, to find a friend and partner, to learn what was to be not alone. We spent months scouring penthouse forums to find a diaper related story to understand our thoughts and feelings. While certainly I do not look upon you with remorse, I expect you to have the common knowledge to understand what you are given, and to use it. Nobody in this world owes you anything you did not earn.

Tommy was a hero to many of us over the 30+ side of life, we don't know why we are what we are, but he did take that huge step to show us what was not a singular part of life. We were not freaks, we had others like us, and at last count 3000+ strong (back then).

Unfortunately Tommy choose as many could have (and still do) to take advantage of the group that we are, wrong I think not, but alas still happened. I wish him well, and am greatfully sorry that he is ill. but the fact remains, we are a group that is not socially acceptable. I am totally freaked out that a vast majority on here (Daily Diapers) Demand something that you have no right to.

D-D as I know him, 28 Years old has given us the new world to be who we are. Yet for some of you , so naive, demand every thing of him. This site is free for you, not free to him, this MAN deserves the right of respect, just as Tommy did. You can demand nothing of a free site. D-D has requested as he does every year, to receive donations to help him pay for his cost incured. Yet you Bitch that you have to log into chat different, because you cant remember your password, or it's to much bother for you to understand that there are problems with the site beyond his control. Why, because you don't contribute to the site as a whole, you bookmark chat, but by pass the main site ( there are sponsers you know..i.e. those that pay money for your attention). If you don't contribute to the site as a whole, why come here, let alone whine why you can't have your part.. Please people use the forums, the gallery, all things that someone has to spend time to do for you..you might learn ..Oh 1000 things that you use chat for, let alone learn who the people really are that you chat with.

I have never understood those that can't help in some small way, to help us as a whole to further, for whatever it could be to make us unite as a family that we should be. We all share a common bond whether DL/AB or just plain incontinent. The point I'm trying to make is we all have something to share. It doesn't have to be money (but $1 wouldn't kill ya) there are thoughts, activities, experiences, knowledge that we all know or have at least figured out, that could help us all. And please Read every post ( I did) before you bump a post up that is over a month (read the dates people of the last post) to say a one liner, not to mention copying the whole post again in your reply.

I am only asking (note ASKING) that you give something to this site so that we can all be a better part of society (maybe ours alone) but at least think before ya yell and Complain. This is not a rant on the younger crowd, but mearly a wake up call for all. ( this is your site, make it what you want, don't expect it to be what you wish without your effort.)

Note: NO I don't have any ties to D-D of this site, but I do understand I am greatfull for his time and effort, and If you can find a better site out there.. please go there..and pay for it this site isn't for you...but if you do like it, try alittle bit in the next year to make it what it is and should be, not what you Want. I'm not to shallow to learn, perhaps you shouldn't be either.

Off my soap box..and awaiting the repercussions

DPF will always have a special place in my heart. I e-mailed Tommy long ago when I wasn't sure about who I was and what it meant to be a DL. He was kind and sincere in his reply and I am forever thankful for this efforts on our behalf.

As for the above post.... I might disagree a bit with the delivery style, but I totally agree with the message. Take care of your free sites cause they take care of you.

Maybe not an entirely sad day. I see an acknowledgement here of an uncomfortable truth that has been obvious to many coming from the people most able to change it. Such a clear vision of the truth means that the possibility of a much improved future for the DPF sites has not been foreclosed. The announcement indicates the possibility of a new beginning.

Yes, but the way it is worded, only if someone else is interested (and has the $$ to) in buying the domain, E-Bay store, exc.

And there is allot that I would change about the coding if I owned it (No I am not considering even asking about it). For starters, the message board and chat script are well out-dated, and that darn chat script seemed to always crash. And just in general, I could use a different look and "feel".

Yeah, for the most part the E-Bay store sold the same stuff at about the same price as the web site - a few differences, but basically, E-Bay was just another avenue for sales.

As for how much it's worth, without asking Tommy (or whoever is handling the sale) a lot of questions, it's kinda impossible to say, for one thing you need to know how much inventory he has left, and what it cost him (NOT what it can be sold for, what it COST HIM), and the value of a domain is always tricky to determine. The amount of repeated and unique traffic plays a part, but other factors can come in to play as well (i.e. If an election is coming up, and you happen to own a domain name, especially a .com that is one of the candidates name, even if it never got much traffic, it can be worth a small fortune to that politician.)

A Whois record doesn't say anything about traffic, or anything like that, but if you are at all interested, here is the Whois info:

Well, when i first became incontinent and went to dpf I didn't find it very thrilling at all. It was NOT monitored, Teens were in the adult rooms and adults were in the teen room. That Would NOT have happened here (well, we have no teen room). people in there fighting all the time, well, just not my cup of tea so i found this place and i haven't been to dpf since. I for one will NEVER miss dpf, (a place where all the ones that are NOT allowed on dailydi go). I will remain a member of dailydi.

I really don't think that teens should be on there and NOW they have a room for teens but adults go in there to chat with them. If they don't shut down then they need to be shut down.

I agree. I probably chated with a couple fourty years old men pretending to be 15 year old girls over the years I frequented the site. I can't see someone taking on the site now and keeping the teen board or chat. Way too much risk of being sued.

Back around the mid 90's when the internet was just getting going, DPF was the gold standard of AB/DL sites.

It was one of the sites that helped me realize that I was in fact not alone.

That is a great feeling to know others share a common interest that is considered taboo by mainstream society.

In fact the big money porno industry wasn't involved at that time ripping everyone off. I guess DPF had a monopoly on that.

The only other one I remember at that time was Bytemine. I still goto Bytemine on occasion, but I quit going to DPF's years ago since they never seem to do any significant updates. The site became, well how can I say, BORING.

BOREDOM is a significant problem with *ANY* AB/DL site -- only so many things to say about the subject before you have heard them before, only so many things to buy before you have them all...wetset forum members stuck around about three months before disappearing...I'd be curious what DailyDi's statistics are like.

And if the site were to become mine (I'm really not serious in this department), I'd start over on the chat and forums. Not sure what I'd do exactly; www.wetset.net's forums were pretty good for quick back and forth; DailyDi's are better for long conversations. I'm clueless as to how to deal with teens in a reasonable fashion; I think the "dark lord" might have to come along from time to time to remind folks to THINK about what they reveal about themselves. I'd be tempted not to let teens chat, though.

Well, the really problem with allowing minors to post messages/chat on any site like that is it leaves you wide open for lots of legal problems, unless nothing gets posted without you approving the posts one by one - that is time consuming, and only works with the forum, can not be done with chat sessions.

The only other way around all that work would be to set accounts to only allow access to a General set of posts/chat that not much other than general conversation is allowed in, till you can verify the age of the account owner - once done, do not allow minors in adult rooms/forum posts, AND no Adults allowed in the sections set up for minors - that too can be a pain, but can be done - in addition, if under legal age, regardless of what info account holder gives you, you can have the system not display much more than the user name, prevent adults for PMing them, and them from PMing Adults, exc.
