North Shore Booster Pads

13 posts in this topic

I used to use Stay Free classic maxipads as stuffers, but those have long since been discontinued. I loved the thickness and softness of the pad, they felt amazing.

I recently discovered the North Shore booster pads, and they feel awesome! They are very soft and fit really well in my Abena L4.   They come in several different sizes, and they all have an adhesive strip on the back. They also have no waterproof backing, so the moisture just goes right into your diaper.  You can even stack them and the adhesive will keep them in place while giving you a really thick diaper. I love using these pads overnight as well, because the extra padding prevents gapping between my penis and the padding.  This is important so that as the urine comes out of me, it immediately gets wicked away and doesn't run out the side and leak.

Basically, they do the job and feel really sexy too!

I was just looking at them myself. I really liked the ones from Bambino, are northshores contoured in any way or just rectangle? Which versions have you tried if you don't mind me asking?

I use both the north shore and the abena booster pads.  Both are excellent.

I use the 2xl in the north shore and it fits in a medium diaper. the north shore aren't as thick as the abena's but they swell a lot more and the adhesive

really helps by holding them in place.

Yeah ... I would love them too, but there is no way I can get a 10.5" wide booster inside one of my small diapers, certainly not inside the leak guards :P

They are not 10 inches wide they that long. I use them every day and they fit between the leg guards.since I wear 24/7 with this booster and my Northshore diaper I can last up to 10 hours without a change while at work. Great combo together.

Well call me stupid! As with the measurement given on their site of 10.5" X 27" in the 2XL of which he was speaking of. A logical guy with some intelligence would have gathered that the 10.5" was width, and the 27" was length. But now we are all the wiser...Soooooooo. There is no way I could get 27" inside my my leak guards either. Nor do I know of any size diaper that could. :P

Hi Repaid,

I understand the confusion. The width specification has to do with the widest part of the contours at the ends. The padding of the crotch area is about 4 inches wide. I have tried the XL and the 2XL. I'm going to try a package of the L as well, I have a feeling that from L and smaller they are less contoured or more maybe more rectangular.  The ability to stack them gives just the amount of day/night bulk.   I have a feeling I will end up using a combination such as a 2XL to cover the entire diaper, and 1 or 2 L's up front to give bulk from my crotch thru the tip of my fun area :)

They're soooo comfortable!

Sorry for the confusion I did not know they made them larger. .

Just messing with you as I didn't know they had contour ones which is why I asked. Anyway I tried Tranquility's best with the contour and they won't fit either they don't have enough length in the thinner part either. :)

I use the contour size 2xl,  I wear medium diapers and it fits between the leg gathers on Abena M4, unique, XP medical brand, Dry 24/7 and attends.

Its just about the right length  to go all the way from front to back.

I like to use the North Shore or the tranquility pads. I always use booster pad with any diaper I wear, extra protection and extra bulk between my legs

I have been using the ones from bambino, and they are pretty amazing in of themselves. I use them mostly in the Wellness briefs, and had one of those last a Looooooooooooooong time and was so swelled up I almost couldn't walk  I have also used them in cloth diapers and they work well there also. it took most of the wetness and the diaper underneith (rearz 4x10x4 prefold) was hardly used and I could have worn that for a much longer period if needed, if I removed the booster.

So for those of you wondering, boosters really do work and make a mediocre diaper a 'super diaper' with little cost, as these are actually pretty cheap.

I have yet to try the Northshore ones, but if they are anything like the Bambino Quadros, Might be time to do a comparison!

Okay, had the chance to try the North shore Large booster pads. It appears that it's slightly different in the texture of the material. They are also thinner.  I definitely like the 2XL and the XL better as far as the softness standpoint.

Square Duck, do the Bambinos use an adhesive strip to hold them in place? Or do you simply place them in the paper?
