What Do You Do On Friday Nights?

That "Like people should" is so bloody judgmental. I go to sleep around 2-3am, every night, does that mean I am wrong? I still get my 6-8 hours of sleep. I am up by 8-10am everyday. When I worked, I was in the office by 11am. Now most don't start at the time, but my point is that there is now fixed time as to when people SHOULD go to sleep. 2-3am is perfectly reasonable to me.

I second this. I usually go to sleep anywhere from 2-4am, and usually get up around 10-11am. I work evening shift at work, so going to bed at 9-10pm isn't an option for me. Even if I do go to bed early, I usually wake up really early after doing that, like within 3-4 hours of sleep, so I tend to stay up for a while after getting home from work.

DiaperedElf and id0ntknow, I keep similar hours too. While Baby Brian's "like most people should" (emphasis mine) remark does come off as a bit condescending, I think what he was trying to get at is that people tend to stay up later on Friday/Saturday nights than they do the rest of the week not realizing that altering their sleeping schedule like this can be problematic for their health. (Some people do adjust better than others though, so YMMV.) Likewise, to his credit, Baby Brian did say "most people" and not just "people," which would obviously preclude shift workers and people who keep a different schedule than most. I believe what Baby Brian was getting at is that people should maintain a consistent sleep schedule for health reasons, and that it merely came out poorly worded.

Natural evolution dictates most everyone "should" be getting 8-10 hours of sleep. Our circadian rhythms are also naturally tied to the light/dark cycle for us to sleep while it is dark out. Ergo, most people absolutely should be going to be by 9pm so that they can wake up with the rising sun after about 9 hours of sleep. Does this mean this is the best time for everyone to go to bed, or that everyone needs 8-10 hours of sleep? Absolutely not, but it is what most scientist and specialists would recommend you "should" be doing.

Depends on the time of year really. I playing Pathfinder with my group every other friday with them. In the warmer months I race once every month on friday's during events called Midnight Maddness. I also see movies and dine out with my wife on fridays we are not racing or gaming.
