I need to figure out definitively how many hours a betterdry will last, and my inspire rearz. i also need to figure out what is wrong with my urethra… as soon as I take the diaper down to change rivulets of pee shoot out. Then when I sit down on the new diaper huge gouts of pee (almost what would be considered a normal wetting) erupts causing the diaper to be “pre-wet” before I ever tape it on. That sound like a feature, not a bug. Incontinent people will squirt pee right into a fresh diaper cause they can't hold it. 2
Spargano Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 Updating. The frameless still works best for me but I inserted a bit of plastic in the end by the retrieval line to keep it open. It was perhaps a little too long and I think kinked the stent to prevent constant drain. my silicone catheters came in, but sadly the eyelits scratched my urethra so I am bummed. I resorted again to the frameless model but with a shorter insert to avoid kinking the line.
Spargano Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 So I found two things to be helpful for me. 1. Putting vents just behind the folds radically helped with drainage for my frameless stent. I used a very thin drill bit and then sandpaper as opposed to the puncher as the goals was to get as smooth and as small a hole as possible to prevent irritation. It worked great. 2. When sleeping on belly or side, pointing the penis up helps it not get kinked and allows for easier flow. I had to change my diaper twice last night and the front was SUPER saturated to it was draining. When I put the penis downward it dislodged after too much pressure. This helps but leads to a new problem. I need larger diapers to cover the front to prevent leaks as my mediums barely cover upward facing penis and if I get an erection the penis will peak over the band and wet the bed. all in all, a much more restful night 😁 2

Normally, of course, the main piece of advice for diapered men is to point downwards! Apart from the fact that the stent was certainly draining when pointing upwards, did you notice any difference in terms of migration inwards? I don't think large diapers would work for me - they'd be too big - but I wonder would a small baby diaper over the penis help to direct the flow downwards?
Spargano Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 Small update. I think I found a secret sauce solution that has made my leakiness more steady and potentially fixed the nighttime buildup. in addition to zeroing in on lengths, I have added a second set of vents on the stent. To try and keep the stent from turning into a cheese grater I am heating a tapestry sewing needle and melting it through the stent. I am doing this because my hole puncher’s smallest hole is still large enough that I can still feel the ridges even when sanding down. after I melt the hole, I use 600 grit sand paper to smooth it down and then 2000 grit sandpaper wetted to removed any roughness remaining. The result is a smooth insertion and removal that works to drain in most situations. I am stilll working on perfecting this method, but it shows promise.

Anything to report on the extra vent holes, @Spargano? I tried adding additional holes to a stent a few weeks ago in the hope that drainage would continue in any position even if the stent migrated in a bit. I didn't find it particularly successful! In theory, at least, additional vent holes should allow constant drainage - more dripping and less gushing. I simply haven't had time to put the stent in in what seems like weeks, and I'm not sure if next week will give me any opportunities for it either. I'll probably be going on a mountain hike during the week (on my own) so I'll be very tempted to put the stent in for that!
Spargano Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 So answering question and also updating. I was going the wrong way. The extra hole irritated the bladder but it also gave me an indication of where to make the fold as I saw a huge jump in leaking when I added the second hole, so I had a measure of where was optimal. my solution was to cut the stent at the second hole and fold it over. I thought it would be too short, but I was busy and inserted it anyway. The result surprised me as when standing and walking I rarely feel it all yet it constantly gushes. The only time I have issues is when I am back up because my urethra gets kinked in the diaper due to penal position. Does it drain in bed? Sometimes, but when it doesn’t to stop it from shooting out I place my hand in the diaper and put my finger on my perineum to hold it back from too much pressure. That has allowed me to not have it removed for a few days and it’s been very nice. @UsuallyDiapered, you might be having the same issue and need to shorten your bends. It made a big difference for me. I am leaking so throughly that I am having the downside to incontinence snack me in the face. If you don’t time your changes you will find yourself leaking or very uncomfortable in short order and you can’t very well tell a coworker, “hang on a sec, I need to change me diaper and then we can continue our task, lol. but I can’t and won’t complain. That’s the whole point of simulated incontinence. You don’t get to control anything. Rash, ligiture cuts, smelly diapers. Just part of the reality so plan accordingly 😁

Just part of the reality so plan accordingly 😁 You could be right, @Spargano - my feeling is that, overall, the stent needs to be shorter. I was able to have my stent in for a couple of hours earlier in the week and when I was removing it I noticed that I was still leaking urine when I pulled the stent out a few centimetres. If I get a chance next week, I'll try remodelling a shorter stent and see if it makes a difference. Overall, though, I'm still liking the frameless stent.
Spargano Posted April 24 Author Posted April 24 So two things can be true at the same time. 1. The smaller stent works way better, especially frameless, but 2. the plastic of the frameless stent shrinks as it cures inside the body. I could not figure out why the efficacy of my stent slacked😩. It was more easily expelled from the bladder and wasn’t draining, meaning the stent was not fully in the bladder. The only answer, looking at the frame was that it tightened up over time, shrinking. so now I am wearing a similar stent purposefully slightly too big to see if it shrinks into perfection in two days.
Spargano Posted May 1 Author Posted May 1 I love experiments! Today I am flew to Boston for a conference. While wearing my @zraihuskystent I wore a very wet betterdry through the scanner (no problem with TSApre) and changed into a fresh diaper after security. While the diaper drained slower than I would like on the plain, and I did bear down, it wasn’t like my last flight that didn’t drain at all due to the hard airplane seat. I rode an Uber to my hotel with my coworker and check in. I was pleasantly surprised to see my diaper absolutely saturated. sitting in my bed waiting for the conference registration and feeling very nice and snug in my new diaper. Tomorrow I will have to work out the logistics of changing but I will deal with that later. 1

Hope the conference goes well. Looking forward to hearing how the stent performs! Well the way I see it, If you’re incontinent you don’t get to make that distinction or convenience so I push ahead, so two notes. The soreness on the meatus for pushing the bead through is pretty brutal so I will be taking some advil for that. Hopefully after a number of entries and exits it will be come less of an issue much like when a catheter became less of a trauma to the urethra. the second thing is sitting on a hard surface like a wooden bench for a prolonged period is very uncomfortable. I wish I had a cushion to sit on… the bead pushes on the area behind the scrotum and is very much felt… still I am glad I am getting this real world data. Changing a wet diaper in the restroom of the conference was a thrill because it meant it was working.
Spargano Posted May 7 Author Posted May 7 At a second conference and testing stents again. This time I am using a true silicone stent with two 3mm holes pierced below the upper fold and a 9mm bead threaded just below them so that they do not scratch the uretha. Inside the tube is a second tube made of polyurethane acting as a the anchor, the fishing line is attached to it. Because it is silicone there are no bends. now that my urethra is starting to relax (getting that 9mm bead in takes time and my meatus isn’t thrilled), the flow has been really nice. It is even flowing when I am lying on my side. I will go to bed in a fresh diaper later and see what it does. this is my latest attempt to figure out the urethra challenge. With the super large vents it is not an issue of urine from the bladder causing back up at night. Can this version migrate into the bladder? Sure it could but since there is no hard frame or bead on the the lower end, it will just come out simply by gently pulling on the line. 2
Spargano Posted May 12 Author Posted May 12 Conclusion: a stent without waking up in a soaking wet diaper is NOT the complete experience. There is something absolutely magical moving one’s body as one wakes up and feeling a large weight in the padding of the front of the diaper signifying a lot of drips. That feeling was multiplied when the bladder cut loose and filled the back end of the diaper even more. so to catch you up on what model allows for this, it is necessary to know I am working with physics that help me. I am using a 9mm silicone bead that has its inner hole widened by a 5mm hole punch. This bead acts as the bladder anchor and standin for the balloon of a Foley catheter. Similar also to the Foley catheter I punch a 4mm hole in the silicone making very large vents. These are the primary source of drainage out of the bladder even though just above the vent is the folded over top. This makes 3ish entry points into the bladder for the urine to get into the stent. The physics of this is the tension between the need and the stent makes it so that nothing short of me yanking on the bead will dislodge it. It does not encounter that level of force at all in the bladder so it is very solid and will never move. next, I was not comfortable with the anchor line sewn into the fold of the stent below (especially for this model which I will get into in a moment), so I sewed my retrieval line in to a 3/4 inch long polyurethane tube. With lubricant I slide this tube halfway up the stent so that it is not in the bladder and also not in the lower section. This allows stent to be floppy up top and below. Again, the physics is the natural adhesion between the polyurethane and the silicone make it so that it will never move. Once it dries, not even the forceps will move it. It’s like the rubber mat put under a carpet. It’s stays put. Likewise, by sewing the retrieval line through that polyurethane it is acting like a vice on the line so that it cannot pull or rip. This method removes the weakness and fear of the retrieval line tearing through the anchor or coming undone. It’s like a natural glue and spreads the force across the entire anchor instead of a single point. So, once again, yay physics. next, the material of the stent itself is silicone, but it is a thicker wall (2mm) and, I am not sure how it achieved this, extremely spongy and soft in its pliability unlike the stiff and sharper feel of the other silicone. The resulting stent is invisible in the urethra once inserted and drains constantly. It is easily my most comfortable stent. there is no bend on its lower half or bead (though I may explore that in future models), so it can and has traveled into the bladder at night, but because of the retrieval line and the super soft nature of the stent it pees out of the bladder and back into position with no discomfort. This really only happens when I am lying on my side. On my back it does not move and just drips constantly in the diaper. bottom line, these techniques combined with the super soft silicone made a an amazing stent. (Note: because the material is so soft it is easy to tear so every movement of the build has to be done slowly and gently. Once constructed it is solid and safe, but the building materials can easily pierce the silicone or cut into it so care needs to be exercised to keep it all smooth. 3
Spargano Posted May 17 Author Posted May 17 Jotting down my measurements 3 inches of silicone tubing 2 anchors 3/16 width from 5/16 polyurethane tubinng 1/2 inch 6mm polyurethane inner anchor with retrieval line sewn in Lengths: 2.25 inches between anchors 10/16 of an inch from top anchor to the top of the polyurethane inner anchor total length roughly 2.75 inches. works amazing 3
Spargano Posted May 29 Author Posted May 29 Figured I would update over here. I have been working with a pony bead stent model. Very simple to make. 6mm od 4mm id silicone tube, 6mm h 9mm od 4mm id clear pony bead, fishing line, lube, scissors, measuring tape, chopstick, medical forceps. That’s it. in the photos above I tried the first length, the shortest and it did not drain. It eventually expelled itself from bladder pressure. So I went longer, the longest, and it also didn’t drain due to being too long, prodding the inside of the bladder. So I channeled my inner Goldilocks and went in the middle. It gave a new sensation I have not had before… it’s not really felt in the perineum like my previous models. Yet it continues to drain even though I thought it was too far in. I realized that it’s actually sitting just below the external sphincter and not moving. FINALLY it’s not moving when I sit down. This is what @UsuallyDiapered experienced with his stent. I am hoping tonight continues this steady leaking. It definitely keeps going when on my back, but I haven’t tried belly or side yet. 2
n2diapers7 Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Wow just the slightest difference in length makes a huge difference. Looking forward to your updates. Can you get these beads at your local Walmart or ordering online? Thanks 1

Can you get these beads at your local Walmart or ordering online? Thanks They ARE from my local Walmart, LOL! my Goldilocks stent is my little treasure. She performs so wonderfully when I am standing or in a soft chair. It’s only when sitting in a firm chair that I have issues. Night time too is hit and miss with draining, but that’s because I am a side sleeper. i have been thinking about old posts of @cathdiap from years ago when he admitted to fantasizing cutting the cord and leaving the stent in. Not that either of us ever would, but this state of incontinence is so nice and it would be nice to have it, and not have to worry about the string pulling. I have not had this stent go completely into the bladder. More often than not, It’s migration places it just above the external sphincter and a strong pee will either knock it back into place or dislodge it to the point I have to push it back into place. Either way, it’s not been a threat or worry. As a result, my body had gotten progressively more used to having the stent in. i have had it in for 5 days and I am enjoying it tremendously, even with the limitations.
n2diapers7 Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Hey man I'm looking back and can't find how you are tieing the fishing line. Is the line just needle threaded through the side and tied around the bead?
Spargano Posted June 9 Author Posted June 9 Nothing so complicated. I tied the line through the hole of the pony bead. I knot it twice in one direction and then once in the other direction so that there is 0 play in the knot. Then I insert the “retrieval line” pony bead into the silicone tube sideways. Using my forceps I situate the bead to the desired length and then fold the tubing. After the tubing is folded I used the forceps to push the pony bead flush against the fold. I repeat the process for the other end after measuring the distance between the beads. like @UsuallyDiapered, I have settled on 5cm distance. Once in place, the bladder is open for business and it is dependent on my urethra as to the effectiveness of the stent.
Spargano Posted June 12 Author Posted June 12 It’s amazing that some of my breakthrough moments are complete happenstance. The folds on top of the beads scratched my urethra. Not because of a cut or imperfection in the fold, but because the firm section wanted to remain straight whereas the urethra wants to bend. To fix that I have no choice but to limit the size of the fold and bead, and i have to fold it into the bead. This difference in length ruined the equilibrium so I needed to adjust the upper bead to a higher point and fold it in as well. this was not a measured adjustment but an eyeball one… the result was it worked great. I was having spurts whenever I would yawn or cough. As I type this, I am sitting on a hard bench, and if my penis was pointed down it would probably still leak, but since it was pointed up the urine did build up. Thankfully it did not dislodge when the urine broke the dam. this is promising because I am leaving on a work trip to Colorado from Chicago and will be excited to see how this model works on the plane. 1
Spargano Posted June 17 Author Posted June 17 I am in Denver. The stent worked ish for the flight but I also was studiously not sitting on my perineum. Still haven’t gotten to the point of the stent not migrating up when I sit down. The rental car had very hard seats and resulted in migration again 😒. but what was fun and different with this trip was I was not alone, but traveling with work friends who do not know about my diapers. The bathrooms in the terminal were full so I had to change into my fresh diaper on the plane. Changing in an airport toilet is tight, but I managed. Even managed to get my diaper into the trash bin so it was a win. I was full to almost leaking when we got to the car rental place, so I snuck into the bathroom to change. So far so good on this work trip. The difficulty will be tomorrow when I am sitting most of the day. Will it be a leaky day or a frustrating day of the stent flushing out numerous times as urine build up? Guess I willl find out. 1
Spargano Posted June 18 Author Posted June 18 I almost had a heart attack at my conference. My stent is working too well. I have had to change 4 times today and the conference goes till Thursday. My panic was, “what if I run out of diapers!?!?!?” I thought I counted and that I would have one rearz to last all day Thursday. then reality set in and I realized today is Tuesday and I have 10 diapers left. I will be fine. plan for next conference will be to bring baby diapers as stuffers or a lot more diapers just in case. the chairs for the conference have not been so hard that they affect my stent, so I am leaking all day. It’s been awesome. I don’t want to jinx it, but I also have not had a dislodge incident with this stent.
n2diapers7 Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Following for hopeful success in making the same model soon. So what was the end total length tucked in the beads? Are the silicone beads a must have over acrylic? Keep up the good work.

Thank you for following! https://www.dailydiapers.com/board/index.php?/gallery/album/4768-06-2025-stent/ I will include instructions in the other thread. edit. hmm, apparently the hotel has bed pad protection under my sheets. I don’t know if the maids put that on after seeing my incontinence supplies (my suitcase was open and I didn’t know they were coming) or it’s always there. Either way, my nerves about leaking at night is completely gone now lol 1
