2sail2
I've been soo tired of getting up at night for last 10 years and it had actually started to get worse such that I was falling asleep at 9, getting up at 12:30, 2:30/3:30 and then being woken up by needing to go at 5. Link to comment
rusty pins
Best thing is to perhaps do an internet search on salt intake recommendations, or get a book on nutrition and read up on it. 1 Link to comment

Guest sometimes
if you are under 50, you should aim for a daily intake of 1500-2300mg of sodium per day. if you are over 50, you should aim a little lower, towards 1300-2100mg per day. Link to comment
sarah_ab
salt makes you retain water. REtaining water is NOT healthy. If you are getting up during the night to urinate, than you might want to see a urologist. Its not normal. Normal is when the kidneys slow down when sleeping so you do not produce as much urine, so you don't have to keep waking up because of a full bladder. Link to comment
