willnotwill
At 1:32 a.m. officers reported a male at McDonalds on Route 1 North wearing a diaper. Officers reported he stated he belongs to a club of people with a diaper fetish who like to wear diapers in public. The male had his genitalia and buttocks covered. Officers had the male put on more clothing and leave the area. Link to comment
Yuna
What actually scares me about this is that there is not one valid reason at least listed here why the cops had a reason to harass this individual making poor choices. Sure I don't think he should have been doing that...but what about it was illegal and therefore requiring an officer's attention? Link to comment
sarah_ab
I can see some reasons, if the gentleman were acting odd - slurring his speech, weaving or stumbling while he walked the officers could have reason the man may have been intoxicated or on illegal substances. Also the man could have been a hospital or group home resident who had wondered away. If he were older he could have been an alzheimers patient. He could have been mentally ill and not aware of what was happening. Link to comment

Mischa
But the OP didn't mention any of those things... Privacy laws would prevent the police from releasing that to the media Link to comment
Yuna
Privacy laws would prevent the police from releasing that to the media I've read over and over again in the newspaper that so and so was had a mental condition, or that they were seen staggering, and many other descriptive statements. So I kinda find that hard to believe. I can actually remember one time probably last year where cops tasered ab autistic person playing with two toys (of which neither was anything close to a weapon), the officer claimed the person was armed.... I have family in the police, and so I can also tell you that they are the absolute last kind of person I would ever rely to act in a person's good interests. Their sense of morality becomes VERY twisted over time and you get lots of sick groupthinking going on, and acceptance of cruelty because they have experienced it from people they are trying to arrest. It's not that they are bad people, but ok, it does attract some pretty bad people...but I mean they are not all bad...just...corrupted. Maybe you think, oh I am nothing like the person mentioned in the OP. I could never be arrested or harassed by the police because I am much more subtle than that person. Or I am much more careful... Do you forget the ways that police used to commonly raid gay bars without cause in the USA and beat the people inside? Do you forget the black civil rights protests and how the police responded to them just a few decades ago? The police do not have a earned reputation in this country of protecting minorities and guess what, people who are adults who wear diapers are a minority at least in the US and probably in every country in the world. Yeah...uh...I don't really think being kinky warrants a protected status ._. Link to comment
BBoy
Don't forget this happened at a McDonalds. They have a policy of no shirt, no shoes, no service. Wearing shoes is a no brainer for any business. I'm sure the McD's insurer demands all customers wear shoes. Frankly the cops probably wanted him to put on clothes so he didn't stand out and get the crap beat out of him after they left. Here is the article... http://www.wickedlocal.com/saugus/news/police_and_fire Link to comment
diapernh
Actually the no shirt, no shoes no service is a health code. Now that is cleared up, onto diaper man at the McD's. It is private property, you can be asked to leave for any reason; if you refuse, then it is called trespassing, and you can be escorted off the property and subject to arrest. Link to comment
freddie84
Well i could see the cops getting called on this. The person working at the store didnt know if it was a fetish or if it was a dare or prank. So you must also think he could have escaped from a mental hospital or nut ward because most there are forced to wear them. Or thaught that mabe he was so druged up that he forgot to put clothing on over his diaper. Plus the factor of how was he acting. Go outside or in a store wearing nothing but a diaper and act all quit and wierd people will act wierd about it. Go do it and act all funny and spunky they will think its funny and a dare or prank. So it just comes down to how the person was acting at that point. Its all about the vibe you give off. Link to comment
square_duck
The No shirt, no shoes, no service idea says nothing about "NO PANTS"!!!! so you should be able to go into any establishment with a shirt and shoes on and a diaper....following the signage!!! and not have an issue have a diaper on...should be OK Shirt, shoes & diaper....good to go and anyone who doesn't like it...tough cookies!
