Ok, I know this may sound creepy and all that, but it really isn't.

In the past few months shopping in Wal-Mart I have spotted many many people there buying Depends and other incontinence things and freely displaying them as they continue to shop around, Depends in full view in the cart. I'm not talking about old people buying Tena pads and all that crap, but I have noticed a strange trend of younger people buing Depends in Wal-Mart and not seeming that embarrassed about it.

Most notably in the past few months I have spotted a young, pregnant woman walking with whom I assume is her mom in Wal-Mart. I can't help but to recognize the large, green Depends bag of Woman's underwear and three packs of Poise Pads in their cart in full display, nothing covering it at all and they didn't seem embarrassed one bit. The pregnant woman was very attractive, I'd say mid twenties, in shape. Her mom looked great, walked fine, not seeming like a "Depends User" Upon further investigation I noticed girl wearing black slacks and had a sweater wrapped around her butt.. I concluded that the Depends are for the pregnant girl due to a slight incontinence issue from being pregnant. Could of been for her mom, but I doubt it as he rmom looked very healthy and acted healthy too. Most likely the Poise pads for the day and the Depends underwear for at night.

On another trip to Wal-Mart I see whom I believe is a young, paraplegic guy(late twenties, early thirties, with whom I assume is his girlfriend, very attractive. Anyways where do I see them? Yepp in the Depends isle at Wal-Mart lol. I was like "oh no, please no" but yes...I see her put a jumbo pack of the briefs in the cart and she threw her jacket on it. She also grabbed a jumbo pack of the Bed pads. Obviously this guy was newly injured and/or having some trouble with his other mode of cathing and all that, perhaps dealing with a UTI. I know some paralyzed people wlil use diapers if they develop a UTI, just until it goes away. Anyways, it was candy for my eyes to see this. Yes I know that sounds creepy, but please understand and that I am a DL...this is like porn and I know yu all understand why it attracted me. Yes I do feel bad for those people buying them for real use, that sucks, but still, How I'd like to be that guy for a week, in a wheelchair with hot chicks walking buy looking at my jumbo bags of Depends in my cart....Oh who must they be for?? Yes...I know that sounds creepy.

Another notable occasion I see this woman, easily twenties, attractive with a cart full of Mens Guards(Wal-Mart brand..... I quickly concluded "father with a prostate problem"

Most recently I saw a young man with a couple of young kids walking to the registers with a jumbo pack of Woman's depends underwear....I quickly concluded either a pregnant Girlfriend or mom with some problems...I hope it was a pregnant Girlfriend lol.

It has gotten to wear I can almost promise someone buying Depends at Wal-Mart 5 out of 8 trips there and some of them are young people. What I find facinating is that none of them seem "embarrassed" about it...They throw them in the cart like anything else and don't cover it up at all. Even as a DL I can't bring myself to put a couple bags of Depends in my cart and walk around Wal-Mart...It's like noone cares that they are spotted with them anymore.

Think about it, that young woman goes up to the counter and at Wal-Mart people pile in behind you to wait to pay and they see everything you get. She'd have to throw the jumbo packs of Depends on the counter lol....

Ok I know I'm new and this is all creepy, but I'm not like that ok? I just wanted to share and be-littling comments would be nice not to see.

You won't get any of that from me. We're all diaper enthusiasts in some shape or form here so 'noticing' when people buy diapers or might be wearing them is a natural part of things IMO. I personally can't see the harm in it as long as you aren't actively oggling the individual or openly mocking them then its all good.

Defender - Just wondering as you are seeing all those people buying diapers, pads and disposable underwear. Do you think you would ever be able to do the same thing yourself? Seriously and don't think I'm bashing you because I'm not. I go to stores and buy disposable diapers for myself, but I always act like any normal person so I don't think anyone would think they are for me. Is your own apprehension about walking around a store with diapers in your cart because you may run into someone you know and they realize that you have no relative that you could possibly be running an errand for? Is it maybe because your DL fetish just makes you embaressed to walk around the store with diapers in your cart, knowing they are YOUR diapers and YOU will be the one wearing them?

It's true that it can be very embaressing buying diapers for yourself! Usually when I buy diapers in the store, I get them and go to the check out without running through the store with them in my cart! I also usually don't buy them at big stores like Target or Walmart. More like thrift stores and drug stores. Still, when at a drug store I just buy them and never think much about it when checking out. I really don't care much if a stranger I'll proably never see again knows I wear diapers. When around stores in my own town, though, I always scope outthe other customers to make sure no one that I know is in the store that may see me. Although I'm not incontinent, there have been a couple times when buying at a medical supply store where I've had to tell the clerks that I'm incontinent when trying to find the right size or right product I wanted. Once at Wallgreens a checker told me that the diapers I was buying were going on sale the following day. I told her I'd be back for more, but I needed these today.

People of all ages wear diapers for many reasons. Incontinence or just plain fun. WIth all the TV commercials for the products, everyone is getting acustom to people wearing "protection", to the point where it's becomming so common they really don't think too much about it when they see someone with depends or other disposable underwear in their carts. Of course, us DL's do kind of get a kick seeing young people with them in their carts, especially cute young women! We can't help but wonder if they are wearing for need or for "some other reason!" On the other hand, if anyone gets too excited over seeing diapers in a person's cart, just think of them being for some incontinant 300 pound 80 year old man or woman and having to be the person to change their used diapers! That's a dose of reality and not too pritty a picture! (No offence to the elderly since my own parents are up there!)

Being rather modest, I too make my diaper purchases sort of carefully ;) I look for people I know, look for the shortest check-out line and who the clerk is, and get my diapers either as a single item or the last item I grab before checking-out  And most importantly I act as if it's no big deal because it really isn't- lots of people from all age groups and all walks of life buy adult diapers because incontinence knows no social limits  In this world you usually get what you give so if you're bothered that will likely be the response you get <_< Whether you feel it or not, just act confident and like it's not a big deal, practice a bit of discretion and intelligence, and the few who actually notice won't care :whistling:

I do notice people with adult diapers in their carts but it's just a glance at them and letting it go. I have my 'explanation' ready if I need it, and it's customized for whoever might discover my secret based on their relationship to me. I did recently have something of a chance meeting with someone who knew. I was introduced to a girl at a gathering and it seemed that I might have seen here somewhere but I couldn't place her. She did seem to look at me differently than all the other people new to her, but not in a good or bad way, just different. About 15 minutes later the topic of where we worked casually came up, and she said she was a check-out clerk mornings at my local WalMart  Then it clicked :o She had sold me diapers more than once there, and not quite casually as she looked at me when I bought them with something resembling disgust, though she said nothing about it. I didn't push things then or at the gathering- I acted as if I didn't know her or remember. Nothing happened, though she did keep her distance from me somewhat. She didn't seem like someone who would start telling anyone about my purchases, and with her coolness toward meI wasn't going to approach her about that or anything else either- I just acted nice. It's all about attitudes and approaches- with the right ones you will probably do well B)

It IS a bit awkward when you run into a store clerk you deal with when they are outside of their work enviroment. I used to buy my diapers at a particular medical store all the time and dealt with one particuar girl at that store pretty much exclusively. We had already had quite a few conversations on which product worked best or fit best.....

Anyway, she saw me at the movie theater once and recognised me right away. Asked me how I was doing and so on. I felt a little uncomfortable about it for a while but then I thought...hey, she deals with lots of people who wear diapers all the time....so don't sweat it!

I don't get that anymore as I order diapers online now....which is too bad in some ways.....

I used to shop at walmart when I was using Depends over nights,(Before I discovered on-line shopping) and I would do what ever shopping I had to and grab a bag of medium depends as the last item and head to the check out> like Betty, I just acted like it was no big deal and just another thing to purchase *shrug* and no one said anything or gave me weird looks or what not.

But now I order on-line and don't have to worry about anything really, and I can get what I want and how ever much I want, because I have a B*I*G shopping cart! :D

I usually buy in public in a town there is a very slim chance of being spotted by someone I know. I could not deal with being spotted with a bag of Depends in my cart or holding them at the line, Although I could use my grandma as an excuse(everyone knows she had a stroke) but it would seem bad IMO.

When it comes down to it, I find younger people(especially women) buying Depends, very sexy.

A young woman in Wal-Mart with a bag of Depends in the cart is just...mmmmmmmmnnnnn

I know that is creepy, but I figure I'm cool, just lookin, not bothering anyone. Now if I went up to her and asked directly if the Depends were for her, that MAY be a bit creepy! but would be hilarious though!!

Yeah, just yesterday I was at Wallmart and the woman in front of me (this town has a lot of welfare people and dirt bags) had her 2 kids with her. The youngest I would say was about 3 to 4 years old and therefore could be excused for still being in diapers. The other girl was at least 6 years old and she obviously had a buldging diaper on under her strech pants! People of Wallmart! Some good people but a lot of scum and wierdos! I felt so sorry for those kids, both of a different ethnic race than I am. I've heard that some welfare moms will keep their kids in diapers for years because they get extra welfare money for diapers for their kids. No jobs and no desire to even look for one since they get free money from the government (and live better than I do!) It's one thing to see an adult buying diapers, but when you see these poor innocent 6 year old children being abused like this, it breaks your heart!

There are far wierder things going on in WalMarts than people like us wearing diapers. LOL.

Dang it. Why does all the good stuff happen when I'm not around? I wish I was there to see it in action. :)

  • 3 weeks later...

I see people with depends in their cart at the store all the time. They are usually a bit older maybe in their 40's at least. Im guessing they are buying them for their parents. I few tmes though I have seen people between 20-30 id say buying incontinence products. Thinking back I can recall a guy about 30 buying some diapers, i think they were store brand tape on diapers and another time was a girl probabally 25 buying underwear for women. It was in her cart covered with a bunch of other stuff but my eagle eye caught the depend package.
