Looks like Daddy wants to find a casino while we're down there. It looks like we could hit Barona after we go to the San Diego Zoo, anyone know anything about it?

Barona is one of the better large casinos in the area and is located about 25 miles east from Balboa Park and the San Diego zoo. It is a little off the beaten path and up in eh mountains off of Wildcat Canyon road - not too hard to find, but you will be off the freeway for the last 10 miles. I would go in the daytime since Wildcat Canyon road is curving with inclines. Once at Barona, it is a large casion with lots to do including an excellent golf course. Others to consider are Viejas (off Interestate 8 30 miles from downtown) or Syacuyan (closer than Barona but not directly off the freeway inbetween Alpine and El Cajon). I prefer Barona to Viejas, but have yet to visit Syacuyan. Let me know if you have any other questions about San Diego and enjoy.

Thanks :) We'll probably spend one day of our trip in San Diego, I'm thinking we'll head out there early from Anaheim and hit the Hash House A Go Go for breakfast before visiting the Zoo and head over to Barona after that for dinner and some playing. After looking into it a bit more it does look like it's the one we're looking for, really big, lots of tables for me and lot of slots for Daddy. We'll probably be driving back out of there in the dark, but I'm not too worried about that, I'm good behind the wheel, love driving canyon roads and will be driving a new rental car. I'll just have to remember to bring my gps :)

  • 1 month later...

we had some fun Sunday! we met up at hometown buffet in Anaheim. it was just Michelle and her daddy / hubby and a friend of their from the valley and myself. I thought Bri would make it, but he had to work at the last minute :badmood: but he passed along a greeting as well.

Michelle had invited a couple of others in the area, including Angela and socal AB, but both said they were Busy :(

Anyways, we ate and chatted about a bunch of stuff, computers, cars, travel, some work...other interests...and ate...and are

Hey! I was hungry,...this was lunch and dinner! :P well. the 4 cups of coffee may have been much.

So, eventually people had to go, and I had to get to work at 4pm. but in the parking lot, they mentioned that they would like to have another get together before they leave, when they get back from San Diego, so I guess I left a good impression

Hope you guys continue to have a fun time, and have a fun and SAFE trip to San Diego and back...

Catch ya soon, and thanks for the time at lunch! :D

We're here, actually at the end of Day 2 :)

Our flight was late so we didn't get to the hotel until after 11PM on Saturday so that was a write off. When we got to the hotel my Bambino packages were there and he had them ready for us before I had finished with registration. Sunday we just wandered around Disneyland watched the parade, met Mickey checked out the stores and the sights.

Today we hit Californa Adventure and did some of their rides, Muppetvision 3D, Mike and Sully to the Rescue, Tower of Terror and California Screaming, now that's a wicked roller coaster. We got our fast pass for the World of Color first thing in the morning so we caught the 9:00PM show. We got the red zone, which we heard wasn't the best, but we were able to go down to the "Wet Zone" (made me giggle) and we had a fantastic view of the show. Thank you Sarah for the tip on that one, it was amazing, we're definitely going to try to see it again before we leave.

Tomorrow we're going early for the Magic Morning, Disneyland is closing at 9:00PM for Grad Night so an earlier start will be good. The lines for the new Star Wars show are crazy so we're going to try to get a fast pass for it right away.

A couple of things I've learned, I don't walk enough, my feet are killing me and the blisters showed up today. I also learned that I need to powder more when walking this much, I ended up with some bad chafing from my legs rubbing against my bams. Oh and I didn't know about the bag checks when you enter the parks, they've checked my backpack 4 times now, each time seeing my spare diapers but they never once made me feel uncomfortable about it, they just look for weapons, alcohol and smile and wave us through.

It's definitely nice to have a close hotel, we came back when it got really hot today and had a nap,

Hi Duck,

It was great to meet you, we had a good time :) We're having a blast here, even thought it's showing us how not used to being on our feet all day we are :P If you want to meet up again breakfast would probably be the best time, somewhere between 9 and 10 on Friday or Saturday at IHOP would probably work. There's so much to see here it's crazy.

Cool, glad to hear that you are having a great time  and yes there is a LOT of stuff to see and do around, and usually you can only scratch the surface in 1 week, it is qwazy! ;)

Breakfast sounds good...I'm always up for something like that :D Ihop is cool too..I'll check with bri again and see if he can make it this time. (Grrrr) dang work anyways. I think shooting for Friday might be best, since I have to work Friday night, and Saturday morning I' pretty trashed and sleep late since I get home late

So anyways, cool that you are enjoying yourselves and having a great trip....glad I can make it fun in my own little way

If you ahve any other questions or anything you always leave messages here, and someone local can usually help.

I'll be AFK for a while, I'm headed out to my condo to get some stuff done and I don't have a comp out there, but i'll be back. and If I don't hear anything, I'll see you again Friday for breakfast :D

Qwack!

Sorry that we didn't get a chance to meet up with you Bri, things got a bit hectic at the end of our trip, we decided to spend Friday at Universal Studios and we went in early on Saturday to Disneyland using our Magic Morning to catch some of the rides that we didn't get a chance to do during the week.

We ended up putting over 500 miles on our rental car and had a blast, we loved Disneyland so much we ended up spending the extra $100 each to upgrade to annual passes. We're going to try to get back down there for halloween.

Our timeline ended up looking like:

Sunday: Met with square_duck and another friend, then went to Disneyland

Monday: California Adventure (World of Color)

Tuesday: Disneyland (Fireworks)

Wednesday: Drove to San Diego, ate at the Hash House A Gogo, San Diego Zoo, Barona Casino (Stayed the night at their hotel)

Thursday: Drove the Pacific Coastal Highway all the way from San Diego to Santa Monica Blvd, Checked out Will Rogers Park (The end of Route 66), drove Sunset Blvd into Hollywood, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Grauman Theatre...

Friday: Universal Studios

Saturday: Disneyland Magic Morning

It was a whirlwind week but we had a great time. The next time we're down there we're going to take the Warner Brothers studio tour and there's a bunch of rides we didn't get a chance to do at California Adventure.

I wore diapers the whole time I was there, and I learned a few things. Wearing diapers without a diaper cover or onsie in a skirt can be dangerous. Both tapes on the left side of my Bambino blew out when I got out of the car at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, I had to find a bathroom for a change and try to make sure that the tapes didn't show under my skirt. Thankfully I wear longer skirts. Diapers are a nice way to avoid using public washrooms, which I dislike, but they can be a hassle. I can't really see myself going 24/7 in the future, but a week like that was pretty fun :)

Someone needs a onsie!

Glad you guys had a great time :) You definitely had a full plate for the week. As you might have noticed....there is a LOT to do around here :P Anyways, good to hear that you will be back for Halloween. that time of year in Disneyland is fun, they have all sorts of neat stuff. I'm not sure what anymore, but way back when, they used to do something called "mickeys Halloween haunt. they let 5000 people into the park for the night (special ticket) and it was like a ghost town, hardly anyone around and you almost had the park to yourself...it was GREAT!

Don't know if they do anything like that any more, but what ever they do now I am sure it is fun! :)

I'll try and catch ya in October, or September for the Vegas parade...??
