Health Care Reform - What'S The Big Deal?

Recommended Posts

I'm not employed either, but I don't need the government to support me. That what my parents are for.

I'm employed... The problem is that I work for my dad and only get enough to pay my bills, with very little left over... Which's why I'm looking for a better job...

We are not a democracy or a republic. We are a democratic republic. We do not have democracy because everyone does not go and voice their opinion directly. We do not have a republic because the people that vote are not entitled to the position, they are chosen by democratic elections. That makes us a democratic republic. It can be discussed in much greater technicality but that's the gist of it.

Socialism is where people do not own the means of production or control it, government does. People do not own land or have capital to invest, the government does. This is dichotomicaly opposed to what our founding fathers thought, did, wrote into law and signed their names to under great peril to their selves, their families and fortunes.

Yeah, but our founding fathers were a bunch of racist sexist assholes who owned slaves and thought only white land owning men should have a right to vote and initially, they wrote that into law too!

Also FYI, Socialism and democracy (democratic republic whatever) are not opposed. One is an economic system the other a political system. You can have public ownership of all goods and still require elections to decide what to do with said goods.

You forgot to include their genocide of the people who were here, first, and general theft of said land from the survivors...

On the one hand I am glad we are moving towards a more socialized system. Socialism and Democracy do not oppose each other. Socialism is a system of economics, while democracy is a form of government. People will use the term, "Obama is a Socialist". Get a life! Obama isn't even close to a Socialist! I am willing to pitch in a few extra bucks to help out people who can't help themselves. You think people in welfare choose to live like they do? I got some news for ya! A very small majority of people choose to live a life like that! They don't have personal possessions, they don't have healthcare, they rely LITERALLY on other people to even get the basic needs of what they want. A very small amount of people truly suck up from the welfare system. Once you take a walk through your local welfare office or soup kitchen or other poverty stricken government association, then you see what's really going on. I dare you to go to their faces and tell them they are soaking up money from the system. You will get the beatdown of your life, and I hope it really happens, because maybe the media has filled your ears with the shit from your diapers for too long.

Anyways, socialized healthcare would be amazing, because then people would stop having a need to be sick.

Unfortunately this new healthcare bill is not even close to socialized medicine. It is built upon a system that slowly increases the Insurance company's demands on the American people. I knew we should've voted for Ron Paul back in 2008. People say nobody other than Republic*nts and D*ckocrats can win, but that is completely false. What happens when you vote for the independent dude, or the libertarian, or the statist, or the socialist? They get the seat, they get the judicial position, they get the presidency. And if they electoral college fails it's people, I can assure you that the American people would not allow it to occur any longer.

Healthcare should be a necessity for all Americans, but it should be the government who provides it for everyone. Either that, or let the insurance companies slowly rape us into oblivion, reaping our souls with cash and finance.

The American healthcare reform is not about healthcare. It is all about control. The progressive liberal wackos want to reduce the quality of life in America to implement fairness with the rest of the world. Under this so called reform, Americans are forced to purchase insurance. This is against our Constitution because of the "involuntary servitude" clause. I have paid in to the Medicare insurance program for most of my working life. Under this reform, billions of dollars are cut from Medicare. This is so they can provide healthcare people who are in the country illegally. Now healthcare will be rationed. Lets get real. Our stupid Marxist Communist piece of shit president claims that he can cover 30 million more people with no increase in cost and with the same number of doctors. If anyone believe asshole Obama, I would like to have some of whatever it is they are smoking. It has to be some good shit.

As for insurance, the cost of the government program will be much higher. The government is the ultimate model of inefficiency. The insurance company CEOs making millions of dollars is only a smokescreen. CEO's make millions because they make the company efficient. A CEO that gets paid 10 million dollars a year while generating 200 million in profit is well worth the investment.

The government claims to have an advantage. The government does not have to make a profit. The inefficiency of the government would make the cost even higher even with the profit considered. The government is a union shop. In all cases, union workers are paid more for less productivity.

I'm from Canada where we have a national health care system. Here the poles show that an overwhelming majority are unwilling to scrap or even reform our universal health care. But what I don't understand is why there have been such a violent reaction to this bill. I mean abortion never saw an outburst, you would probably have to go back to the civil rights days to find a reaction like this.

Especially since it limits how much insurance companies can charge and who they can cover I'd think the benifits for all would at least cause less of an uproar. As for the cost, Bush threw more money away on some pretty stupid programs and got a muted response. So why does this reform cause such a violent reaction?
