Well being a Diaper Lover myself I visit E-Bay alot looking for great diapers deals. Finaly I thought there are no ABDL Auctions sites for us at least that was created for us in mind.

So I took the plunge, lol.. I created ABDL Auctions. Still very much in the building stages, colors theming etc but is functional if interested.

The first 100 People to sign up will get a free membership for life as well.. No selling fees ever!! I am not doing this for profit at all infact the small fees that the site does charge will only be used to maintain and upgrade the site as it grows.. I just wanted a new site for selling ABDL products that I could visit with that in mind only. THere are a few but I have not found any Auction type ones where the ABDL variaty would be so ever expanded..

Anyway... Take a look.. post-28631-12697181606167_thumb.jpg http://www.abdlauctions.com

Nice start!

I agree. I'll have to watch this site as time goes on. If you can attract enough sellers, you may have a winner!

(I think it would be nice to have a firm figure for shipping listed rather than simply 'buyer pays for shipping' - but I'll still watch how things develop here.)

Hopefully this site will become a success for you and for those of us who might want to use this opportunity.

Well I solved that issue and have been working on the color scheme of things. Thanks for the replies, I am realy excited about this too.

Any help getting the word out on other forums would be a great help to me should you be chatting and want to bring it up.. That way maybe we can get items posted that I want to buy to lol.. (One of my main reasons for building it) lol

Let me know if you need any help with the site. I do graphic design and web programming as a side hobby.

I like the setup and I like the potential it has.

Keep up the good work!

You also might want to contact the "regular" Ebay sellers. They maybe interested in joining and listing there as well. Might save them some charges and whatnot. :thumbsup:

Hmm how would I go about letting them know, I think they have rules about doing that? I would love to but dont wanna break any ebay rules..

What would you suggest graphics wise, I am actualy doing this alone and could use a second hand on the side. :)

Do you have an eBay account? If so, just send them a private message. eBay will never know unless they have a way of reading private messages, which I believe is illegal.

True but they can report me for spamming and I could loose my account... Proly better not try that..

True.

But think of it this way. You are charging less in total fees than eBay is, correct? (eBay has listing fees, then final value fees when your item sells, then PayPal, which is owned by eBay, takes their cut, etc.)

If you charge less in fees, I guarantee the sellers won't report you. They are there to make money, and if they can save money using your website versus eBay I'm sure they will.

A more professional, custom logo header would be a start.

You don't need the top menu to have a graphic behind it. With auction sites, it's easy to go low-tech.

Make your home page more dynamic by including auctions that are popular as far as how many page impressions each auction page gets. That would increase turnover in sales.

Also, I would have a list of categories instead of having "Category" on the top menu. That will help you with keywords and search engine optimization (SEO).

I joined. I really like the idea!! I'm working at programming and I'm an ace with CS4 so... if you need any help, I'm more than willing. Just PM me. I'd really like to help out!! Seeing that site flourish would be wonderful.

Great info thx for your input. I am lacking in graphic design knowledge and would love the help on a good logo.

If your willing I would be happy to change the current logo with something else if you didn't mind creating it or giving me a 101 lesson so that I may be able to do it.

You guys here are great the admin here is also being a great help as we are working on a few ideas as well.

Thank you all for your help so far. You guys are great!!!

Well I was going to PM you with a few questions on the programming end of things but from my blackberry I am unable to send pm's from this site or at least have not figured out how yet lol.

I am at work now but when I get home I will send ya a pm with a specific question I have on an addition that would take a small amount of programing or modding I should say.

Again thx and anyone who has signed up that I have not gotton to yet, when I get home I will change your statuses to preferred seller so you will never have or incure any fees. Least I can do for low.

Which bring another thought to mind is the fee structure. I want to be the cheapest around but need to charge something to help pay for the site as it grows so if anybody has the time go look at the fees page and give me any suggestions you may have.

I am building this for us so don't be shy. Lol. Any and all comments and suggestions from my fellow ab/dl's will be a blessing as I am doing all this on a whim and honestly need all the ideas and advise I can get.

Lol now I am rambling and wearing the keys out on my blackberry lol.

See you all this eve when I get home. Oh forgive the typos, you know us wittle ones never were that good at spelling. :)

I like the site, and we're backing Pete to help it take off. Would be nice to have a place to find all our stuff without "Thanks for buying frilly pink plastic panties" showing up on my ebay feedback :)

Yep. Or you get those kind of e-mails that say, "If you like those frilly pink plastic panties, we recommend these!" and it shows S&M wear.

Maybe there should be a reminder to sellers to ship products in discreet packaging.

Why don't you make your banner picture in your signature on DD clickable with an a href tag instead of putting the link above it? Because I just went to click it and I'm like "huh...?"

It's a very easy thing to do, it will look nicer without the link above it, and it's a larger redirecting space...

Well call me stupid but I tried to figure out how to do it! Throws self on floor kicking and screaming rolling side to side slobbering all over thyself! Ok got that out of the way, perhaps you can give me an example.

For the rest of you that are following this thread I added a few stats to the front page of the auctions.. Cool I think! :)

It is cool!

All you need to do is to first upload your image and put it up in the text editor here.

cheech-and-chong.jpg

Now, single-click the image you uploaded. You'll know you did it correctly when you see white boxes around the edges of the image.

Next, click on the link icon next to the smiley face, input the URL of your site, and click "Insert Link."

cheech-and-chong.jpg

You will see a blue border around the image if you attached a link to your image successfully.

Thank you, Cheech & Chong!

Tried that in the signature area and did not work... No worries I guess it will do..

Use a tags! HTML guys! Come on!!

What are you using? Photobucket? Let me try to figure this out... it's something like...

<HTML>

<a href="http://www.abdlauctions.com/index.php" target="_blank">

<img src="website of wherever you are hosting the image from (should end in .jpg or something)" />

</a>

</HTML>

The a href is the link.

The target in the a tag is where the new page opens. The _blank tag opens a new tab or window so it doesn't bother with people who want to stay on the board.

The img src tag will tie the picture to the link. There are a million and six settings for this like width and height and border and everything, but your picture is probably the proper size already so you wont need any of that.

And the /a closing tag makes sure the link and the picture become one instead of two separate things.

I don't think you need the HTML tags since DD already allows HTML scripting.

Also you might want to consider an alt= tag, which will mean if your picture doesn't show up (say on certain web browsers without proper HTML coding enabled) it'll give them text that says "ABDL Auction".

The tag for that is alt="whatever text you want" and it would go after the closing quote of the image (the .jpg or .gif file), after a space, but a space before the /> closing tag.

If you need more help than that... ask...

OR ALTERNATIVELY

Give me the host link for the picture and I'll write the script myself (although by this point it's really only plugging it into the above template).

Bows gracefuly and runs off to follow directions.

Hehe thank you, as you can see I am not that good at this stuff. Just the fact that I got ABDL Auctions online is a miracle in itself lol.

Will try again this eve when I get home.
