Terrorists In Diapers?

What this country needs is to oust every incumbent out of office in Washington, and replace them with people more interested in representing the people rather their own agenda's and greed. The curent economy is a perfect example. Why didn't congress make an attempt to boost the economy sooner? They knew it was heading in the crapper long before election day but, put political agendas first. Nancy and Harry couldn't risk the economy picking back up and decreasing their chances at getting total demoratic control. Which is kind of funny since alot of the problems started with them forcing the banks to give loans to people that had no business getting them in the first place. That is not to say republicans are any better. They are just as guilty of putting their wallets first as well. We need some common sense in Washington. That is why I have already chosen my choice for president in 2012..............................

I am curious why the diaper is used for sanitary reasons, and not, say, a toilet.

Because they're not going to stop interrogating a terrorist to give them a potty break. They don't deserve potty breaks. Also, if they kept them on a toilet the whole time, that could be considered as more of a humiliating factor and possibly torture. Sitting on a toilet for long periods of time will cause the toilet seat to dig into yer butt. I remember seeing a case where a man was accused of child abuse for trying to potty train his daughter by making her sit on the toilet for too long, resulting in brusing on her butt.

Yeah.. As long as they're making money, they don't give a rat's ass about anyone or anything else. Personally, I think we should elect Toby Keith and Charlie Daniels.

A lot of people in this thread need to turn off Rush Limbaugh and go read a book. You guys got walloped last November, and if you keep talking the way you are in this thread, we're going to beat you in 2010 and 2012 as well. I had a grand time in D.C. on January 20. Please, please keep it up so we can coast to another Obama inauguration!

You are only 21 years old. I was 19 when I voted for a man that talked like Obama. His name was Carter.

You are still drinking the political kool-aid.

As you grow older, you will realize that socialism only works until the government runs out of other people's money.

The Republicans attempted to regulate GSEs but the Democrats threatened with filibuster. It was Barney Farnk that stopped the regulation attempt. The Republicans did not have a sufficient majority to force the issue.

Center-lefty here, voted Obama in the primary and general... and reading way too many Faux-News right-wing talking points here to refute...

But first, the OP: Jesus H Christ... I hate that this topic brings the object of agreement-- diapers-- into a dumbass political argument, which is an internet cliche and IRL never "won". Our similarities are greater than our differences. For fuck's sake, can't we all just get along?

But, with that said... I'll bite, here we go:

Ranger: Yep, the war criminal comment. Did we cut off the heads of detainees? Shoot them in back and leave them to rot in the desert after questioning? Bake them in ovens? Gas them? Medical experiments? Do we have 10 year olds running around shooting them with M-4s and LAW rockets?

No-- the Bush admin was careful to outsource the more-egregious forms of "interrogation" to nations such as Uzbekistan, and also to Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco. That way, we have no blood on our own hands-- we can still claim the moral high ground. But even if our involvement comes to light, hey-- as Dick Cheney once said, "The good Lord didn't see fit to put oil and gas only where there are democratic regimes friendly to the United States."

Redneck Diaper Boy: I am against Obama's liberal agenda and I hate Obama with a passion. You can bet the government is keeping an eye on me. Never mind the fact that Obama's best friend bombed the Pentagon and a New York police precinct.

William Ayers is Obama's "best friend"?? Really? Ayers sat with Obama for a short while on a not-for-profit educational panel, donated $200 lousy bucks to Obama's 2001 first Illinois Senate run, and never endorsed his Presidential run. If you think that's a valid relationship, then let's talk about Bush's (and Cheney's-- the brains of the pair) connections to BigOil... and Cheney/Rumsfeld's obsession with Iraq since the mid-90's. Ayers's actions killed no one; the Iraq invasion (justified and discounted for any number for various reasons) has cost thousands of American lives.

And yes the government IS probably keeping an eye on you-- your emails, phone calls, walking down the street. But because you're a God-fearing law-abiding American, you don't really have to worry about Bush's domestic-surveillence program.... right? Nope.

ranger: Bill Clinton 1/20/1993 - 1/20/2001

2/26/1993- 1st Attack on WTC

Which happened one month after Clinton's inauguration. Follow-up results--

Ramsi Yousef: Arrested Feb 7 1995; convicted and sentenced to life in Supermax Nov 12 1997.

Mahmud Abouhalima: Convicted March 1994, 240 years no parole.

Mohammed Salameh: Arrested March 4 1993, convicted March 1994, life

Ahmed Mohammad Ajaj: Arrested March 9 1993, sentenced to 115 years

After eight years of Bush--

Osama Bin Laden: ???

Redneck Diaper Boy: ...Saddam had yellow cake uranium. The conventional wisdom is Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction. ... The US had to pay contractors to remove and transport the uranium from Iraq. If you don't believe me, Google it!

Oh dear... Ok I'll google it. Hey-- look what I found.

Oh, and... "Ted Nugent For President 2012"...?? You have got to be fucking joking. You don't like the first 2 month's actions of a moderate Democratic president (in the middle of America's worst economic crisis in 60 years), so you'd rather endorse a self-absorbed right-wing extremist who'd make America the laughing stock of the world? Nice. Um, no thanks... I'll just put on Ted's 1974 solo album, or "Free For All" ("Cat Scratch Fever", and everything else after that, pretty much sucks) and leave it at that, mm-kay?

Obama is going to quadruple the budget deficit with his stimulus plan. Businesses need to fail from time to time. Thank goodness we still don't have buggy whip makers and wagon wheel unions!

It is well documented that FDR prolonged the depression and any government intervention now will prolong our misery.

Do I listen to Rush? Sometimes. Do I hope Obama fails to make the US a socialist country and spend money that my grandchildren can't pay back? Yes, I do!

I'd move to Texas and seek asylum if they manage to pull out of the union and once again become a sovereign country. The federal government is acting unconstitutionally and overstepping their mandate as outlined in the document that empowered them with very limited abilities, most of which are reserved to the states as noted in the 10th amendment.

Are you serious? These people we detain and treat better than some of our own impovrished people will still KILL US--YOU AND ME! So, let me get this straight--I am retarded and uneducated because I volunteer to uphold the foreign policies of the elected official and have an opinion--Democrat or Republican. The next time someone bitches about our affairs overseas, pick up a rifle and see what freedom of speech and America is all about. People hide under the blanket of the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the security that so many of us provide and we ask nothing. Except to stop reading posts like I have just read. This shit pissies me off. I could've written a book tonight but I took the time away from my family an personal life to drill for an upcoming trip to the Middle East and I'm tired. You're welcome

I love it when people invoke age against me. It is usually a pretty solid indicator that they have nothing meaningful to say. At any rate, I'm not 21 (my brain is not riddled to pieces by age though, deepest sympathies if yours is). The fact that you regret the way you have voted in the past is your own problem. I also hate to break it to you, but simply invoking the name of Carter is not an automatic win button, any more than saying "socialism" is. The fact that you do not understand what socialism actually is (hint: it isn't Obama) is also not my problem. As for kool-aid, I'm not the one who wanted to be out with the tea-partyers because Rick Santelli and Fox News told me to.

But again, keep it up guys. Keep blaming Clinton (it definitely makes your party look compelling), keep up the paranoia, and we'll keep up the winning.

So what kind of education or indoctrination do you have?

I have an engineering degree

Who mentioned hate?

Obama is spending 10 trillion bucks on pure bullshit and I am supposed to like it?

Before my father died in 1977 he made a statement I will never forget. He said "Son, you will see Communist in control of America in your lifetime". My father's prediction has come true. Obama is a hard core Marxist-Communist.

it reading some of the responses here that make me realize just how smart and good of a person i am.

Thank you all for re-arfirming what an educated thoughtful person i am by showing your own ignorance and hatred.

I wanted to attend the local tea party but I had to work.

The people at the tea parties were the people that make America work. Those are the people targeted by Obama. Again socialism works until the government runs out of other people's money.

If you are in your 20s you will be paying for Obama's taxes. When the government prints money, inflation comes. The 250,000 dollar mark will be lower-middle class in a few years.

I was doing well in the 1970s. I was 21 years old and making 25,000 bucks a year, working and going to school! 25,000 is poverty now!

I love it when people invoke age against me. It is usually a pretty solid indicator that they have nothing meaningful to say. Obama isn't "targeting" anyone. He's trying to keep us ALL out of a re-run of the 1930s. I guess you read The Grapes of Wrath and thought it sounded like a grand old time? As for "spending" ten trillion dollars, you do understand the "bailout" money comes back, right? It wasn't a giveaway, it was in the form of loans and equity stakes. There remains a distinct possibility we could turn a PROFIT on the bailout if and when the financial sector recovers.

The people at the "tea parties" may very well be hard workers (they may very well also be cheeto-eaters who live in their parents' basements listening to talk radio all day), but they are in no way "the people" who make America work. Remember how well the "real Americans" narrative worked out for you guys? Your Jesus Hero Sarah Palin tried it out a lot last fall. Again, keep it up. Don't learn from your mistakes.

I don't recall much of a Republican revolt at Bush's deficits. Nor Reagan's. As for "socialism" or "hard core marxist Communism" or whatever fiction Rush Limbaugh tells you to latch onto, you do realize that taxes today are lower than they were under Reagan, right? Goddamn that hardcore social marxist communist wealth redistributor!

Anyway, have fun with this thread. Having verified that Republicans are still wallowing in the same divisive anger and paranoia they were in November, I can go back to my placid confidence in my side's electoral chances in coming cycles.

So, we lobbed a few tomahawks at training camps, and are now housing and feeding terrorists who want us all dead. Good Plan. BTW: 3 more terror attacks after that one. Plus one by Hezballah in Saudia Arabia on a hotel that housed Air Force personnel.

After eight years of Bush--

No attacks on U.S. soil or major attacks on U.S. Interests abroad. Saddam is dead and Obama is hiding in caves with no assets to fund major attacks. Not the mention the fact US taxpayers aren't paying for his housing, food or clothes.

Typical democrat reponse. I didn't say anything about Obama. However, lets see how "moderate" he is in 4 years. I hope for all of our sakes he stays that way.

Now, due to fact you got all defensive about Obama, you missed my point. Since you claim to be a Center-lefty, you to should see my point that we need people on both sides that don't lean entirely to one side or the other. If you listened to Nugent he actually has some very common sense views on politics. Would I actually vote for him? Probably not. It was a joke. I was simply trying to end with a laugh, hence the emoticon.

I think it'd funny and a bit sad that people're still blind enough to keep supporting politicians. Here's a little wake-up call...

These people are only in it for themsevles! They don't give damn about you or your concerns, unless that'll get them more money and power! It doesn't matter who wins what elections, because they're all out to get our money!

The only way to really fix things would be to kill all the politicians and start over with a new government, with safety protocals in place to ensure that they can't get out of hand...

Yes I read John Steinbeck's tome when I was in high school. That was back in the early 70s.

To see what is happening now read Ann Rynd "Anthem"! and George Orwell's "Animal Farm"! Another one of my favorites is the "Turner Diaries" by William Pierce.

As far as keeping us out of the 1930s, FDR's bad deal was a failure. It was WW2 that ended the depression.

I see the banks trying to give the bailouts back now. They don't want the government telling them how to do business. None of Obama's cabinet has any business experience. They need someone like Steve Forbes. Our piece of shit president has no business firing corporate executives. This reeks of fascism and or cummunism.

If the government ever gets any of the bailout funds back it will not return it to the taxpayers. They will allow the welfare crack-heads to run it up their noses.

There was a Republican revolt when Bush pissed away 300 billion. 300 billion is not 10 trillion. I was on the phone to my Congressman and Senators encouraging them to vote "NO" on any stimulus. It was bad when Bush did it. It is worse under Obama because of the amount of money. My Congressman saw it my way. My Republican senator voted for the Bush bailout and against the Obama. My Democrat Senator voted for the Obama bailout and against Bush.

I will say this. Any lawmaker that votes to piss away 10 trillion bucks without reading the bill should not stay in office. Anyone that voted "yes" on the Obama stimulus should be fired. The bill was over 1000 pages long and it was voted on in less than 24 hours. There is no excuse for this. Hidden in the bill was a provision that allowed the executives, that took down AIG, millions in bonuses! Chris Dodd lied about it but the truth came out a day later

Yes I love Sarah Palin. She is soo much more qualified to be president than Obama.

My dentist was at the local tea party. He like many other hard working Americans took time off for the protest. I would have gone myself but I had to deal with a work related issue that couldn't wait.

Yes you bet I am angry. Most of America's problems are due to the actions of Democrats. Woodrow Wilson gave us income tax and the Federal Reserve in 1913. FDR gave us the bad deal in the 30's along with Social inSecurity. LBJ gave us Medicare, Medicaid, Affirmative Action, and the Civil Rights Act. (YES I am against everything LBJ did) Carter was and still is an idiot. Under Carter I remember double digit un-employment, double digit inflation, and a prime interest rate of 21 percent. I remember getting a car note at 16 percent and thinking what a good deal it was! Clinton failed to take out Osama. Obama is leading us down the road to Communism. In this case, hate is justified.

Obama isn't "targeting" anyone. He's trying to keep us ALL out of a re-run of the 1930s. I guess you read The Grapes of Wrath and thought it sounded like a grand old time? Yep I agree. There are stupid Republicans too. 3 Republican Senators went along with Obama. The current political hacks just don't realize that we are on to them.

I would like to see an end to the 2 party system but Democrats and Republicans have made it almost impossible of another party to exist.

There needs to be an American Conservative party. There needs to be a party that will observe the Constitution as our founding fathers wrote it!

"Could you be a little more explicit, Prime Minister?"

"Stop the plotters, then!"

"In order to do so Prime Minister, we will certainly have to torture our informant some more. Do we have your authority to do so?"

I'm military. I guess it's a sense of duty I can't ask you to understand
