i agree with the above. this isn't something that she needs to know about. if she finds out, best to be honest with her.

Yup. Agreed with the others. While you might be like me, and have a mom that needs to know everything --whether its her business or not-- you want to keep this under wraps for as long as possible. But yeah, hide ya shit, son!
