Hi Mark, thank you for your welcome, I am in the North of Hampshire/ Surrey border. I also have plans to have a second focus in the North of UK.
I find the web interesting, yes, although in the last days I have not had a lot of time to visit it. Social media take most of my time!

No way! You're near me then!

Hello, I am a Mommy in the UK who has friends all over the world.

I have been a caregiver for quite some years now, to my little squishy. I am a trained musician and also trained in mental and public health.

I will say more about myself as I learn about this site, for the moment I am learning about it.

Hi there and welcome! Where are you in the UK? Hope you're finding the site interesting!

  3. Well ... I have gone from almost 24/7 since the first Covid lockdown to now only wearing at night when I need. Such is the depressing state of affairs with the cost of living in the UK. I mean it's saving me about £100 a month, but it's annoying having to stop myself putting another nappy on and only wearing at night.

Anyone else 'regressed' (not in the right sense) back from wearing more to less?  It's just too expensive!

  4. There seems to be a distinct lack of plastic pants available in the UK right now, where is everyone getting their ones from?

Nappies R Us seem to be permanently out of stock now. Arizona Healthcare seems to have closed down.  Amazon only really sell the "Haian" ones which are always a bit crap.

    Any ideas? I'm completely stumped!!

Bought  a case of these nappies i am very impressed tried one today, they are so thick fluffy and very comfortable all pe backed. I wore it for 6hr i was suprised when a removed it there  could have been room for more absorbsion. Never wore Mega Max but im wondering if the Drylife maybe just as good, and the drylife are not as expensive as Mega Max.

    https://www.dorset-nursing.co.uk/incontinence-care/adult-diapers-nappies/drylife-slip-super-pe-backed-medium.html

    Drylife is the brand from the same people that run Nappies R Us and Incontinence Shop;

Although like most things there, it's all out of stock!

What is it with medical receptionists?  Is arrogance something they learn on the job or a core competency they must display to obtain that kind of employment?

I thought this was just a thing round here, they are frankly horrific in their attitude. Granted they must deal with some real twerps, but there is just not 'customer' care at all.

I guess this is why chicken sushi isn’t a thing.

Sadly, chicken sashimi is most definitely a thing; https://www.livescience.com/60343-chicken-sashimi-salmonella-campylobacter.html

A work colleague had some in Japan and I felt like I had food poisoning just from hearing it.

On another note to not being able to stem the flow, in my humble opinion, I've found that emergency bowel breaks are hampered by something between your legs. When I've experienced the same without wearing a nappy I've felt I've been able to clench and wait. If that makes sense!?

Yeah London weather has been all over the news here.  Whilst 37C is depressingly normal over here, it's still what I'd call "pretty hot".   The real killer is where it doesn't cool down much at night and I think you've had a dose of that too.  We cope with that here using air conditioned bedrooms.

The nappies do suck a bit in sustained heat, something I'm reminded of between September and April every year.

Occam's razor saves you again I'd say.  Without ancillary information I very much doubt they would have noticed anything at all.  Kids are less than subtle.  If they were "fact checking", I'd expect a grab, not a swat.

It has been pretty horrific - I'm just south west of London in one of the many commuter towns into the city. Luckily my town is fairly green and not built up, but I have windows facing every side, so the sun hits 3 sides all day, there's only so much sitting in the dark I can take.  Of course we don't have air con as standard, so today I went to the office instead.

I have noticed that in this heat it's the back of my nappies that seem to suffer most. My normal WFH daytime is an ABU Simple Ultra - it's pretty solid, but I notice that even the stuffing at the back of these starts to come apart with the sweat ... grim.  Odd that I find that more grim that sat there wetting myself, but hey ho.

You're right, last couple of nights was not fun - I just couldn't get the bedrooms / top floor below 30c, no matter what I tried and I went to bed at half midnight.

  9. Must admit I'm not impressed. For my personal tastes, I find the sizing weird - I normally wear medium and these are MASSIVE on me and a small is too small.  I hate the writing on the wings.  I know they are medical, but it just seems OTT and I don't particularly like the way they feel generally.

I've worn everything from Rearz, ABU, Tykables, some Bambino, Forsite, Tena etc etc., but Northshore are the only make I won't buy again / have in stock. Just not for me at all.  But it is a personal thing, like anything you wear.

make of what they encountered when they smacked my ample posterior? I gave my own ass a test smack a bit later, when I went off to retrieve some firewood and I was out of sight... and, oh yeah, that's a diaper under there, no question.

Oh that is annoying! My son did that to me a couple of months ago and I said "you know I hate people being behind me, don't do that" and all was fine, nothing noticed.

On another note and going back to working with shorts off in just a nappy ... as it's been pretty hot here in the UK, my study was about 37c today, still and horrific. I decided I'd turn the camera off and remove shorts and t-shirt.  My wife came in to ask a question, looked me up and down, said "for f**ks sake" and left the room.  So I think my normal pulling up of shorts is a good idea ...

(Although later, having got over the shock she did bring me a drink and stayed to chat a while - so to be fair I should've warned her)

What would you wear to such an event? Megmax with a booster? Mermaid Tale? And how do I navigate the later hours when I'm waddling around like a toddler that needs attending to? Nobody brings a car to this thing, for obvious reasons.

I think I'd go with the rucksack with a change in.  But I would email ahead to whoever is running it and say "I want to come to your festival, but I'm incontinent and need to bring a change with me, is there an entrance or someone I can meet for a discreet search?" - that kind of thing.

As for being with people, I have an uncanny ability to slip friends and reappear later. I'd just arrive early or slip them with a lame excuse, then phone/whatsapp/etc to say "I'm in, where are you????" ;)

I ate breakfast in the kitchen this morning in just a diaper; that felt kind of novel, I guess. I can't do that with my kids around, obviously, and I while I suppose I could in front of my wife, as discussed a few posts ago,

Funny you bring this up as right now in the south of England it's 30c (currently 2200 hours and still 27c outside).  Whilst that might not seem hot to you, in the UK towns with higher density buildings and no air con to be seen anywhere, it is uncomfortable.  I'm going to go to the office tomorrow for some aircon ...

Anyway, sat in my study today, my t-shirt was a sweat patch mess and my shorts were annoying me.  My wife doesn't work on Mondays and will occasionally bring me a drink. To forewarn her, I text down and said "I'm too hot, shorts and t-shirt off" (I was declining video calls, made up some BS about the camera).  So I just felt that managing expectations on seeing the husband working in nothing but a nappy, was the best way to handle seeing your husband working in nothing but a nappy.  Seemed to work fine.

It's only going to get hotter here too.  Nothing wrong with the climate though ....... ?

Well, I'm in my office today in a diaper shirt over a Northshore AirSupreme. I took a buddy and his family to the airport this morning, hence the onesie - I knew I was going to be bending over and picking up luggage. Once I got back to my office, I ditched the shorts, however. I'm not sure what I'll do if my wife comes up here... is wearing a just onesie over my diaper respectful, @BedWetMark? (See the earlier conversation on this thread, anyone wondering why I asked him that...)

Interesting one. I think I'd be okay with that if it were day time and in my study, but would I feel self-conscious, yes I would. I think more to the point though, I wouldn't be able to do a video call as I think they would know what I was wearing, even if they couldn't see lower than chest height - does that make sense?

And like you in the heat, I always kick off the duvet and just have nappy + plastic pants on. I find my the morning I've moved the quilt back on though and am hot again ... grrrr

In the middle of a Brisbane winter, sleeping next to a menopausal beloved whose craving for cool would put a polar bear to shame this is not an unusual turn of events.  Every window is open.  The indoor temperature looks a lot like the outdoor temperature (maybe 10 or 12C) and I thank deities of my choice that at least she hasn’t turned on the ceiling fan.

My entire takeaway from this excellent post was that 10-12c was cold ...

I love that temp and all my windows are open at night even down to 7/8c.  Neither me or my wife can stand a warm bedroom.  I know it's a bit weird, but so is my dress sense ;)

Update: I am on day two of a business trip, and I took only diapers with me, no other underwear. This was definitely flying without a safety net, which I find somewhat thrilling. I also have to not let it distract me - I actually have real work to do. Getting up this morning and having only a choice of a couple of diapers once I got out of my night diaper was interesting - I have never been "stuck" in this position before! Today would be day 13 of 24/7 being in diapers.

I think you do this out of respect for someone - at least that's what I do. My home office has been relocated upstairs as I wanted a view, I sit there all week in a nappy, plastic pants and t-shirt.  When my wife gets back I always pull my shorts up out of instinct and I think politeness.

We recently went on a couples trip away just the two of us.  We'd been out, I said I was getting ready for bed, so threw a snap crotch vest on and went to sit down, I got a "put some shorts on too", fair enough, so I did.  Then I wanted to go down to the bar to get a last drink for us and was told to put a t-shirt on as well ... so if your other half is like mine, it's the reluctant acceptance, but just the need to make it more polite for them to look at. I do push the boundaries slightly further every so often, hence sitting down after an evening meal and drink in nappy, plastic pants and vest, but the "put the shorts on" comment was enough for me to know where the line was drawn.  Fair enough.  I'm happy, she's happy.

On another note, one thing I have read of yours was sleeping with dummies / pacifiers.  I was intrigued and bought one.  I kept it hidden for a while in my top drawer next to the bed (my wife goes to sleep way before me). She was cleaning stuff and in the evening said "oh yes, I found a dummy, why? Is it yours?".  I've no idea who else's it would be, so I said "yes, I like it".  Left it at that.  So now it's known about, I fell asleep with it and left it on the bedside table - next day it was tidied away, nicely.

Honestly, I know this is a niche for most of the world, but I do feel lucky.

Sorry @Little Sherri, taking over your thread, but I was on a roll!

It's kind of crazy I loved wearing and stuff like that but now it feels like more of going through the motions and last night I didn't even bother wearing at all, anyone else ever get like this?

Classic binge and purge cycle - we've all been through it, many times.

My recommendation is to grin and bear it. If you feel like you can't be bothered, just lay a nappy out on the bed, lay down on it and do something else like read or play a game on your phone. Within a short while, you'll be taping up, even reluctantly and getting on with things again.  In my experience, it's EXACTLY the same as running long distance when you hit that wall, you need to give yourself headspace and push on.

I started this 24/7 journey with a plan to spend about 3 weeks wearing diapers, during the summer when my family was going away on an extended vacation - they went to Europe for about 5 weeks. The plan was for me to join them for the last 2 weeks. I decided to see if I could get through a weekend 24/7 at the end of March, in preparation, and I ended up sticking with it... for 3 years now. I had planned to turn the water off to the toilets for the 3 weeks or so I was home by myself, but much as you described, I quickly got tired of the amount of time I had to spend cleaning up in order to live that way, so I went back to only using my diapers for #1, and have stuck with that ever since. My hat is off to those of you who use them for everything, whether by choice or because of circumstances beyond your control - medical, the wishes of a dominant caregiver, whatever the case may be. That's a lot of work. Maybe you get better at it with time?

During that period when my family was away, I installed some extra window coverings in the house in order to afford me the ability to wear only diapers below the waist, whenever I was home and not expecting visitors. I learned that I preferred to operate in that mode as much as possible. It just felt natural and "right".

Agreed, I'm quite happy to stick to just number 1s as well - those 6 days were just too much, as well as the fact I was paranoid and kept smelling the same smells for ages in my skin.

There is still something wonderful about being on video calls all day (I really am) and knowing you're in a nappy and freely weeing! I'm have a 3-a-day habit ;)

How many of you are able to spend prolonged periods in just a diaper? Who among you prefer it that way when it's possible, and, why? I can't explain why I like it, because as a kid the only time I was ever in just a diaper was in bed, and only during the hotter months, so it's not something that is particularly nostalgic for me. But it is my preferred way to be, when it's possible, and prudent, to do so. I was never this way about underwear, back when I owned some.

Over Easter, my family went away with the in-laws and I took a couple of days off work to do some DIY.  I actually had 6 days on my own, which was the longest time I've done that since about 2009.  I made the decision to only wear nappies on my bottom half (t-shirt up top) as I was doing DIY and wasn't planning on people coming round or even leaving the house and also, no one can see in my house.  I also made the decision to do _everything_ in my nappies, toilet was off limits.  I've never done that before for that length of time, so wanted to see how it went.

I must admit, after day 1 I was fed up with cleaning and thanking god I had control of my bowels, but I forced myself to stick with it.  By day 6 I'd REALLY had enough, but it was fun for a while anyway.
