With the thick diapers, is it noticeable in the outline of your pants? In the few times I wore diapers to work, I had to watch out how much I wet, because the diaper would really swell up and create a very obvious diaper bulge. Often when I change my diapers and I don't want to leak in my pants, (When I have a stent in..) I change while standing up, butt against the wall. I'll lower my pants to my knees, open up my new diaper and lay it open, on top of my lowered pants. Then I unfasten my wet diaper, and remove it. Any dripping urine just falls into my new diaper. Easy pezzy !! So is it the urge to pee that wakes you up? (When your bladder is holding urine..) Have you had any diaper leaks in bed yet? So how's your frame of mind? Has it sunk in that you're REALLY incontinent? Are you enjoying your now true diaper dependence? Any lingering soreness or pain from the operation? No more clots? Yeah, what he said!!! I have also had almost a whole bag of diapers turn out to be defective. I opened a NEW bag of diapers, while on vacation, and almost every one of them had one tape missing, in the same spot. Manufacturing defect.

I think you said a while back that you had a crap-ton of disposable diapers on hand... However, NOW you're in the real world of incontinence and diaper dependence. You probably have different diaper brands, of different absorbencies. As you get a routine down, and know when you'll need a thin diaper or a thick diaper, you'll probably want to inventory what you've got of each kind, so you can re-order ahead of time. I've been surprised a couple times, when I waited to long to order my diapers, and then the supplier was out of stock!!! ( Case in point, LL Medico is STILL out of BetterDry Large diapers - My favorite! ) Also, as you probably know, cloth diapers and plastic pants DO cost a lot up front, but over time, the cost per use is much lower than disposable diapers... I have some cloth diapers that are close to 10 years old, and I still use them.

No more clots or blockages so far? How wet are you when you wake up in the morning? Do you plan on using cloth diapers and plastic pants for night time?

So are you slowly dripping in your diaper as you sit, or do you retain some urine while you sit, and have spurts of pee when you shift position?

Have you bought bigger work pants to conceal your diaper? Pleated pants help even more. Also, black pants will hide any leaks better. Plastic pants help, even over disposable diapers. Sometimes people cut back on fluid intake to minimize the number of diaper changes. But if you cut back to much, your urine will be more concentrated and smell stronger.

Yes, they are expensive. I think Reddy wore one on his flight, which if you're on a plane for several hours, you'd want the most absorbent diaper possible. I don't know if he had a catheter in for the flight, he said he took it out, but I don't know when it came out. (Reddy? clarification? ) I've bought a bag of the Trest diapers once. I used them on a long, cross-country trip. It was nice not having to stop frequently for diaper changes. But yeah, for everyday use, they ARE pricey!!

BrownBobby... I think you mentioned blood clots somewhere around here. Did you have blood clots too? Did you also have to wear a catheter for an additional period of time?

Generally, pain is a sign that something is wrong. What size catheter can you take WITHOUT pain right now? It's probably safer to increase cath size slowly, over a period of time, giving things time to stretch naturally. What's your cath size goal?

Wow.... That's crazy! Though I think BrownBobby mentioned blood clots somewhere around here a while back. Well, I'm sure the 14fr is more comfortable than the 22fr was. My only thought is could urine possibly leak around the 14fr cath, since the surgery "opened you up" down there. You might have to wear a diaper to catch any leakage. I'm assuming you will have a leg bag now, for the next 10 days?

Yes, I hope he was able to sleep thru the night, and wet without being wakened by his bladder. It's always great waking up totally refreshed, with an empty bladder and a full diaper!

Not sure I understand... "where you tuck your scrotum up onto your body" Are you tucking your scrotum up "onto" or "into" your body?? I do often point my penis DOWN into my diaper, when going to bed, since I'm a side-sleeper and this prevents most leaking.

You said you're flying home on Wednesday... Are you going back to work the next day, or do you still have some time off to heal and adapt to diapered life back home? Do you have a waterproof cover on your mattress at home? You WILL have leaky diapers once in a while...

Remember, for the flight back, you probably want to use a booster pad (or two) in your diaper. After sitting for several hours on a flight, when you stand up, you may have a LOT of urine gushing into your diapers... Do you feel any pee going thru your urethra, or just the wetness of your diapers?

So how many diaper changes since the catheter came out? Are you going to run out of the Mexican diapers before your flight back? And how full is your wastebasket getting?

Were you able to get downstairs for breakfast this morning? Have you left your room yet, now that you're back in diapers? Is the pain mostly gone, with the catheter removed?
