  1. That's true bettypooh, it's good to look on the bright side in those situations. Though I do find myself pushing my luck a little in the morning, I enjoy a cup of tea and a cigarette and when that urge hits me I try to finish my cigarette before dashing for the loo, I know I'm playing poo roulette and at some point my smoking habbit is going to create a situation where the forces of evil will win and I'll crap myself! Does make me chuckle a little, it's all a bit wrong isn't it, poopy adult diapers, as we say......if you can't laugh you'd cry.
  2. So as normal this year i will be camping with the family for a couple of nights as we travel. As a general rule I cath in the day and diaper for night time. Normally by the time I'v woken I really need a poo and just make it to the loo. Last year I nearly didn't make it to the loo for poop as it's quite a walk to the toilet block on the campsite. This year, as bowel control worsens I just know I'm gonna have to use the diaper for its intended purpose. I know I will wake up in a soaked diaper all squigy between my legs and I know I'm gonna fill that bad boy with an almighty dump. Anybody else experience that feeling of impending poo doom? I'm not into messy diapers, it's happend to me 3 times now when I've had a little flare of ibs or something I've eaten had disagreed, the cleanup is horrible. I know my wife will laugh at my predicament, and she'll know when I'm doing it. Anybody else been 'caught short' whilst diapered? Red faced, trying your dam hardest to avoid the inevitable?
  3. Cider, love cider. I'm a bit like that cockroach guy from men in black. "Sugar in water! More! 'More" 2litre bottle of cider and a TSM will last maximum of 2 hrs. If your pointed down well between the legs as you flood the rear of the diaper, a bit like a woman, you can feel the weight and it sort of pulls at the hips as it soaks it all up.
  4. It's a lot of salt but the Italians bread and dough does tend to be more salty than the bread here in the uk. I spend a month every year over there. Think i might do a pizza poll! See what comes out on top.
  5. Want to try something different? Try making an alpine pizza from a series on the bbc called greedy Italians. You can find it on you tube. 400g bread flour mixed dry with 10g salt, 7g yeast. Add cold water (best results 'il pegarino sparking water) and mix into dough. Leave for 45 mins. Work the dough on a floured surface for 5 mins and divide into 2 Leave until it's doubled in size on a floured surface covered gently with cling film or tea towel. Grate gruyere cheese and mix it with creme frieche. Thinly slice red onion. Some salami. Flatten and shape dough to fit oven tray and sprinkle with olive oil. Spread on cheese mix leaving an edge for a crust. Add red onion and salami. Add a sprinkle of oregano, and a little more olive oil. Hot oven in they go until cooked crispy and plenty of colour. Lush!
  6. Was the no meds thing your choice or the Drs advice? I keep on thinking about meds but I'm worried about the long term effects on other parts of my body, plus my feelings have always been that even with meds if you had one accident a day you'd still have to wear something all the time anyway, seemed kinda pointless. You how comfortable are you with having to wear diapers? Has it effected the way you dress and feel about yourself. I personally found I had to adapt my clothing a little to cover diapers or cath bags but you find ways round it. Now I'm not bothered so much if somebody sees something because I've got a problem, I'm still suprised how many people I know and talk to have some issues like this too.
  7. I wish you all the best in getting your problems fixed, your in the right place for helpful advice and information. Many of my own leak protection issues have been helped by reading the forums here on DD. Out of interest what have they given you to wear? What meds if any have you been given?
  8. Another vote here for t shirt and diaper. Also great for practicle reasons, if i spring a leak or fall asleep I'm not going to have to wash another pair alof shorts. It's also pretty much the bare minimum I can wear being incontinent so I strip to as little as possible in the evening.
  9. So Newton's theory on gravity was wrong? An anti-gravity penis!! The problem with willies is they move around too much. I just try and shove mine down between my legs and do the diaper up nice and snug. Sometimes Mr sausage always finds a way out of his position no matter what you try.
  10. Everybody is different. For me I wake up either in a soaked diaper or with a 2 litre bag full of pee at the end of my bed a I genuinely wonder how it got there. For me you can tell the body has different leak points in terms of bladder pressure depending on physical position. When say down the bladder has to reach a fuller point before leaking than standing up, no doubt gravity and the space in your pelvis effects this. On the odd occasion I have woken and been aware of desperately needing a wee it's been a flood. I suspect we'll all be different.
  11. For the first time in a year a spotted an old girl outside a Greg's bakery today, urine drainage tube clearly visable from beneath her trouser leg. When you do spot other people with incontinence it does give you some comfort to know your not alone.
  12. I second your concerns with regards to cloth backed diapers. However my experience is varied depending on brand. Lille supreme: drips pee through back sheet after second wetting Tena flex: tiny drops appear on backsheet after a good 4 wettings Molicare super: pretty good no real moisture on outside Abena m4: terrible moisture let through, wear a pair of rubber pants and the inside is soaked with pee condensation. Tena maxi plastic: pretty awesome, a small amount of dampness when extremely wet. Euronform: nothing, nada zip, (as Americans might say). Molicare super plus: nothing Tena pants: a bit of moisture when very wet Anyway there is a link between the cloth back and this issue of moisture and I have to say my biggest worry is odour. I think it's important to remember though these product, when used 'normally' perform very well. For example tena flex maxi is a comfortable pad and will las between 4-6 hours without leakage with normal consumption of fluid and prosuming you've not got polyuria. However, for me, 2 pints of cider and not much can keep up. Only the plastic backed products perform well enough. I wrote to tena expressing my concerns about the change because the fit of the slip is wonderful. But they didn't even answer my questions, they just confirmed the change to cloth. I often wonder what range of people incontinence products get tested on, sure if you 80 and drink a few cups of tea and a juice then fine but for me being 34; drink plenty of fluid and I like a beer then most products suck. I also can say that if the only diaper that was available for incontinence was lille supreme, I'd be straight under the knife to have a neo bladder made or bottox. The fact that there are some half decent products are available means I have a choice everyday of how to deal with my incontinence.
  13. Good point about the colour and print. In get supplied euronform through the nhs and why o why do they have to be medical blue. I'm not too sure about babyish prints but something on them might make a difference. My wife wear poise diapers through her periods and they have a print on them in different places on each one, simple but a nice touch.
  14. I was wearing tena maxis when I first saw a continence nurse and my gp. The nurse commented that if I needed them to get hold of the tena product it might be possible. I wasn't ashamed as I needed them, and the two nurses where professional and courteous. I even asked them if they had worn them and they told me as part of their training they have to wear and wet a diaper to know what It feels like. Lit was a bit different when I saw the urologist as he was a bit of an arse. At the time I was wearing a cath and bag and I told him I wore all in one pads too and you could tell he sort of shunned that as not the correct way to deal with incontinence. I like my diapers and to be honest I probably wear more often than my cath. They are comfy, feel like pants and sometime a little fun too, even though incontinence sucks
  15. I'm not ab but incon and enjoy diapers. I have 3 abena vest onsies which I wear anytime i wear a diaper as a concealer. They work well and are comfortable. They have lasted a year so far and we're pretty cheap.
  16. My advice. Wear a diaper, sleep on a pad, protect the matress. If you leak you throw it all in the bin, wash your rubber pants in the shower in the morning, hang em up to dry. Most importantly.....get on with your life and be happy. If you protect the bed and your partner at night from pee, what's to be stressed or worried about.
  17. You can buy bed pads with wings to tuck under the matress but again they are expensive and my wife wouldn't want to sleep on a pad. I do also sleep on a pad and just hope it doesn't move around too much.
  18. Bin clothed backed diapers. Every one of them leaks pee, what's the point of wearing one. Makes me wanna scream at these companies. For example. Lille supreme maxi is supposed to hold something like 3.5l........no..... How about 2 small wee's and I'll drip pee on the floor....useless! Plastic backed all the way and I second not compressing them in packaging to get pin hole leaks. I think the top tapes should sit a little closer to the top edge to prevent the top of the diaper folding over. More elastic around the waist. Black finish to mimick a pair of briefs. Inget supplied euron form diapers through the nhs and they just scream, 'look at me I'm wearing something medical blue coloured! Plain white or black would be perfect.
  19. Being a side sleeper incontinence does being its challenges in this area. For most cloth will do the trick with a good pair of plastic pants. I wear gary euroflex and they've lasted ages. Great product with nice comfy elastics. The problem I had though was I pee about 2 litres during the night so I need the extra absorbancy of a good diaper. I wear a terry diaper over my disposable and gary pants over that. Most of the time I get a little that's leaked out and gets soaked up but for flooding nights thy been a bed saver. I do wear a cath sometimes and it works very well. However on the odd occasion I get a blowout, piss everywhere, and It knocks my confidence a bit.
  20. I feel extremely lucky when it comes to valentines this year as it has come at the same time as my wife's period. Hang on..::.. I will explain. She now wears a diaper in the evenings and to bed during her period. After the kids have a bath, i take my cath off and put on a diaper for the evening and so does she. It's super sexy and outways the fact that she's not really keen on bloody sex. Come on 7pm! Bath time!
  21. Hi bouncy, yep still here if your interested, both or just one of the brands. You can send me a pm with your details and all I will need is some PayPal money to cover postage
  22. One of the problems with writing on forums is people will read what they want into anything people write, and of course, nobody knows the full story.i have the deepest respect for the elderly! Most of my regular customers fall into this bracket and pay to feed my family. My father is now 73 and had a close call with his life this year. Please remember that at times we need to voice our frustrations and/or opinions on site like this. I don't hate the elderly, I look after them and help them during my everyday job, however I just get frustrated sometimes as a youngish person suffering with incontinence. It's socially ok to talk about how many pills you take and this cancer and that. But a few things are not socially accepted, like diapers, incontinence, false teeth etc. It's been a crap and fantastic year and I can't wait to see in 2014. Birth of our third baby who's amazing, incontinence, death of our gran, money problems, near death of my farther etc etc. sometimes you just need to vent, Sorry I didn meen to come across as someone with no respect, that's not me, it's just a rant. That's all, nothing more
  23. Hi, shipping would be way too much. I live in the uk. I doubt it would be cost effective for you?
  24. Now we all have favourites but sometimes the most absorbant aren't the nicest feeling diapers. Mine list is: 1. Molicare super. Hate the fabric backing but squishy as hell! Feels lovely between your legs. 2.tena maxi. Soft plastic super fit and squishy but seep pee 3. Euron super plus plastic. I get these on the nhs. Hold a ton but very wide in the crotch and feel a little hard when first wet the.n to mega squishy. What's your favourite for feeling? Forget absobancy.
  25. I work with public every day and lots of our regulars are elderly. Who else on here l gets bored of hearing about achy legs and "don't get old" comments from the elderly? I'm sorry, don't wish death on me and 2nd you have no friggin idea what it's like to be incontinent and wake up to either a diaper filled with piss or a bag full of 2litres of wee every morning. The older generation of today seem to be so blind to what people go through. "Oh I hate computers" etc etc Well if you read things on the web you might be better educated as to what other people younger than you may be going through! Please oldies, spare me the death wishes, you've no idea!
