Thats a giant cop out I ever heard. Parents to afraid to let the kids go out and play? So instead they simply buy em video games that they can sit in front of the TV and play because its to dangerous to play outside? I let my 8 yr old twins ride their bikes to my parents house 5 miles away without having ABUSE CHARGES levied against me all the time. Its so unsafe for an 8 yr old to ride a bicycle in public, because lord knows all those pedophiles that are lurking outside and behind every single tree may snatch em up and hurt em. Incidentally, my kids always have to go at least 1/2 mile to visit friends at their house as my nearest neighbors on either side are over 1/2 mile away. Hell their school is 5 miles away, and I let them ride their bikes to school in the spring and fall, but I guess I am just an abusive parent for allowing my kids to have fun as a kid and not keeping em inside because of all the dangers in the world The reason more kids are fat is because to many parents allow them to play video games after school, or will drive them EVERYWHERE they have to go. One of my kids friends is no longer allowed to come over to my house, because his mommy won't allow him to bring his bike to ride home on(she insists on driving him everywhere since she feels sidewalks are to dangerous for him to ride a bike on since they are so close to the street) because I REFUSE to waste gasoline driving a 14 yr old high school student a 1/2 mile home. That is absurd. This kid is also a tad chunky as well, but he is big into PS3 and facebook though. I limit how often my kids can play video games, they get 1 hour a day Sunday through Wednesday(school nights they only go 4 days a week Mon through Thursday), and 3 hours Thursday through Saturday. They also get limited TV time as well. When my kids are not in school, they are usually only inside when doing homework, eating dinner, or are grounded, otherwise they are outside playing on the dirtbikes, bicycles, 4 wheelers, playground, forts, etc. And none of my kids are overweight, unlike alot of their friends whose parents are to busy on Facebook to care what their kids are doing, and allow their kids to do whatever they want as long as they are out of their hair.

But why should makers of these things make them backwards compatible for computers that may be 20+ yrs old? There has to be a cut off limit somewhere where old/new means the old is obsolete and no longer supported, which Microsoft and most PC makers decided years ago(XP is supposedly losing support this year). I have a windows 98SE PC that I allow my kids to use for homework purposes and it can only go online via modem, and I would never even consider hooking up the external bluray burner to it to burn a bluray disc, or even consider putting the burning software I currently use on it, because more than likely, Win 98SE is not supported, and rightfully so.

True. Thats why I have backups of backups, just in case. I save everything to an external hard drive, after I burn everything to a DVD or bluray. I don't trust the cloud at all, plus if you lose internet access, how are you going to access the stuff you may need off the cloud? I know friends and public libraries could work(if those places allow you to hook up things to the PC), but you also have to hope the security set up is good, as I know many people who have it set to auto store usernames and passwords on their computers, and that would have to be disabled

Its not going to go away anytime soon, because todays kids got it from their dads, and so they copy them. I remember hearing "experts" in the early 90's saying the fad will pass once the kids graduated high school and entered the workforce and wouldn't be allowed to wear saggy pants but boy were they wrong. The main reason I think most boys wear the pants like that is to show off to the other boys that they are "big boys" and no longer wear tighty whities, because I never see a boy who still wears tighty whities have sagging pants(I will admit that it is possible for boys to do it, but in my area its just not done), and most boys start wearing the saggy pants right around the time they switch over to boxers As far as girls girl, I think its disgusting when girls show em off, but I am of a different generation, who grew up when girls didn't have clothes that had inneuendo wriiten on the butt and chest area and then could cry sexual harassment because someone was staring at those two areas

A fad that has been going on since at least the early 1990's. Its actually on its second generation now. When Iw as in high school, baggy pants and showing the boxers was just atarting to take off(I never got into it), and now my teenaged kids attempt to do the very same thing(they know around me, I better not see their boxers)

Parents like that deserve to be treated like they treated their kids.

I never had any issues with Win98, but I did have issues with 98SE. Even WinMe never gave me issues. I had issues with XP until SP1, then those went away. Just like I never had issues with Vista either, nor have I had any issues with Win 7 either. Usually the only times I have issues with Windows is when I upgrade a current PC to the newer OS(like I did for 98SE from a PC that came with Win98), otherwise I upgrade when I buy a new PC and have no issues
