  1. At last! (Play the Etta James track of the same name if you can - different subject but same mood) I’d like to have been able to give this at least three likes!
  2. Actually, by “plausibility” I didn’t mean “plausible deniability”, but rather “not too far from real life “. But your points are valid too.
  3. This is so well written and I love stories that have a level of plausibility to them. I would definitely like to hear more of these two.
  4. Surely this egg is about to crack! Come on Ceres, give Noah a slightly firmer nudge! 🐣
  5. I should say sorry for using the wrong pronouns for Noah in my last comment: even Ceres seems to have picked up that blue is not a favourite colour. Maybe she’ll also realise they might prefer “they/them” as long as “she/her” isn’t available.
  6. If this is what happens when you put more of yourself into the main character, keep doing that! It’s great! This has been a lovely, upbeat chapter. I hope Noah can share soon what’s really bugging him - surely Elysium’s technology can help him.
  7. Were they watching “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen”? I thought that was fairly well-received. I definitely like the way this is going…
  8. Or the hand-knitted sweaters for resuscitated fish, which literally had me laughing out loud. But I think the two-hundred year old timber is the best. I am imagining Daphne and Mary watching the movie…
  9. Shows how warped our expectations are when the twist is that they all lived happily ever after!
  10. Do you need to restrict yourself in that way? Given that this is an episodic story, not a film, you need to adapt to the medium. Of course you could just say [ foreboding music ], or whatever. At any rate, I am really enjoying this story and will trust your artistic judgment going forward!
  11. Now that sounds like a narrative voiceover from a much earlier era than Pulp Fiction! 😜
  12. Isolde doesn’t really have much blackmail power here: who’s she going to tell?
  13. Glad to see you posting here again: you are easily one of my favourite two or three authors here. I really hope you don’t leave the story in this sad place for too long!
  14. OK, mechanical nursery stories are a tired trope, but this one seems a cut above the average. Slightly more plausible set-up than usual and good pacing with a very nicely timed entry of the villain. I’m looking forward to the continuation!
  15. It seems his accident bumped him into something like the Diaper Dimension. This was something that featured in BabyKimmy’s stories: people who died in our dimension got rescued(?) into the DD. The doctor has adopted him: her full name now appears in the “parent/guardian” space on the form.
