  1. @diaperedindayton What meds did your doc prescribe?
  2. Yes. I have gotten massages at businesses like Massage Envy while wearing diapers and sometimes while wearing a catheter. Out of respect for the masseuse I informed him/her before the session that I am wearing protection for urinary incontinence or that I have a catheter and bag. They always were very professional and respectful about it, and accommodating.
  3. I much prefer the onesies from Easy Access Clothing due to ttheir quality and fit.
  4. @Soggy Bottom Boy: I loved the uplifting element of your post, how you decided not to become a recluse. Good for you!
  5. Off the top of my head I can list a few hotels that were readily accommodating in that they put protection on my bed when I asked for it: * Raddisson in Galway, Ireland * Marriott in Bochum, Germany * Dreams in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Is that the kind of list you have in mind?
  6. @cathdiap Thanks. Let me clarify my question about exercising: do you do any vigorous exercise with the stent in, such as running, hikes over two hours, bicycling etc.? If yes, what do you do, for how long, and what irritation if any do you experience due to the stent? The reason why I am asking is this: I try to be very active, ie exercise regularly, and can consider your type of stent only if it won't interfere with my exercising. Thank you clarifying!
  7. @cathdiap: Thank you for the video. I am very impressed the speed by which you execute and complete the insertion.
  8. @barb94 Thank you for sharing your experiences. I admire your going through this with dignity. Best of luck in the future! I do nearly all my business travel with the same airline so that they give me special treatment when I need that. Extra bags, quick transfers to hotels when flights are delayed, etc. Airport security is a fact and a necessity. I cannot understand why people complain about the TSA so much, I have had much much worse experiences with some other countries' security personnel. There was the time in India when the airport security personnel took every single item out if my carryon and displayed them right there in front of the other passengers. There were communications issues around the terms "diaper" and "incontinence" in Hong Kong that resulted in my translating with hand gestures and a partial strip performance. And if you have ever traveled to Israel, you know that security is a whole different ball game there. So in comparison I find the TSA does a decent job.
  9. @pupcerberus Did you have your hospital stay yet?
  10. (Apologies in advance for typos, this is types on a phone.) As a leader in a large company, I am expected to "fit in", that is, I am expected to fit a certain profile of a leader: energetic, balanced, visionary, available etc. you get the picture, I am sure. Revealing my diapered state amongst colleagues would undermine my status as leader. So over the years I have developed a few good solutions to the challenge of keeping my diapers a secret: * My wardrobe has evolved both to hide my diapers and to fit the 'dress code'. It consists if mostly black pleated-front slacks. To minimize bulge and prevent sagging I wear Abena Abri-Fix over my disposable or a onesie that doubles as undershirt. On top I wear a collared shirt and in formal settings (sales presentations) a jacket. * I have a selection of bags that allows me to bring to work enough supplies for the day. On the days when I commute by car I can keep my change of clothes and extra supplies in the car so that I only need to take a medium size computer bag with enough space for diapers and wipes. When I commute by public transport, everything has to fit in my bag: on those days I take a large rolling tote bag. In order to take my diaper and wipes to the bathroom I use a neoprene bag similar to a laptop sleeve. * What I bring on business trips depends on the duration of the trip, the destination and the circumstances. If it's a trip of a week or more, then I bring a collapsible bag for my diapers. When it's empty, I can fold it up and store it in one of my other bags. The most difficult situations are one-day trips with flights at the beginning and end of the day: I am expected to travel light, but I have to prepare for the possibility of a leak and bring a change of clothes. And I have to prepare for the possibility of the trip getting extended (missed flight, additional meetings) so I do have to bring supplies for two days including what I need for the night. In situations like that I sometimes choose indwelling catheters over diapers, as a catheter and bag are so much easier to deal with - provided I don't exercise. (Yes, I know about the risk of UTIs.) * Finding a place to change is not always easy. At my principal office there's a locker room / shower with a door I can lock. If it's very early in the morning or after regular office hours and the building has emptied of most staff, I sometimes just go ahead and change in a stall. (I work in the US where bathroom stalls offer less privacy than anywhere else in the world.) The risk there stems from the noise the tapes make - something I try to avoid letting colleagues hear in case they associate the sound of the tapes with diapers. When on the road I either choose a bathroom on a different floor, or I choose a time when my colleagues are occupied (meeting). If it's a completely anonymous setting (eg airport) I don't mind others hearing what I do. Fundamentally, if anybody dared to make a comment about my diapers in a work context, they'd expose themselves and their employer to lawsuits. So I am not worried that a reasonable and mature person would not only not ask about my diapers, but also not talk about them to our colleagues. The only exception might be the executive assistants and human resources teams. But they know a whole bunch of things they cannot talk about, because if they did, they'd loose their job.
  11. I always wear onesies from easyaccessclothing.com over my diaper. They prevent sagging and hold them close to my body thereby reducing the chance of leaks. Lately I have been experimenting with Abena's fixing pants. They also do a great job holding things up and tight.
  12. Fascinating observation! I too find that I have fewer erections when I keep my bladder empty. And my sex drive is down when diapered. Now there's a topic for a doctoral theses...
  13. I love this idea, am always frustrated by the small selection of onesies, pants that accommodate diapers etc. I love crossdressing by wearing women's clothes that are just androgynous enough that I can get away with it. Some of the references to geek look of the 1980's go in that direction.
  14. Yes, it was a strange period in my life when we potty trained our kids while I was wearing diapers. But clearly: as a partent I am responsible for teaching my kids all essential life skills including how to use the potty. What I am wearing under my clothes is none of their business, just like it's nobody else's. There might be a time in life when they will have to be responsible for me, but that's a far way's out, I hope.
  15. Ok, I ordered the dilation catheter (30Fr, 40mm) and the pump. How do I use it? Is 30Fr big enough?
  16. Agreed. A 15% likelihood of an ER visit is high. I wasn't able to locate a how-to manual yet.
  17. Does anyone have experience with balloon dilation of urinary sphincters?
  18. @pupcerberus Thank you so much for sharing. Very interesting. Was there anything else your doctor asked or said besides what you mention in your post above?

    Hi

I use Abena M4 with plastic backing, a heavy disposable pad inside, and plastic pants (Suprima) over the whole package.
  20. >> there must be one they found which made the detrusor twitchy
  21. I am on my way back right now from a two week transatlantic trip. Outbound I had a catheter in, but then switched to diapers half way through the trip. I hadn't planned on spending as much time without catheter as I did, so I found myself not having brought enough diapers. Hence I looked up local medical supply stores, called them to find one that had what I needed and then went to the store and got enough diapers (they had Lille - they were impressive in fit and capacity, but weeped). I enjoy the kick of shame when I show up and discuss with the sales person the right types and sizes for myself. In this case they gave me 8 diapers and didn't charge for them. Nice people. On other trips I did the same thing: instead of bringing everything I needed I put myself In a situation where I have to figure out where to get diapers locally and then how to negotiate what I need. Think India...
  22. If I could, I'd chose to get successive surgeries that take me down the road of irreversible incontinence. I relate to it as a body mod.
