  1. As I have stated before, in July of '08 I had a wetting incident at our cabin. By October it began happening too frequently to ignore and began wearing diapers to bed at night. I was careful and my wife was unaware. The following summer we were at the cabin again and I knew that I would wet the bed without having a diaper, so i brought a separate bag filled with diapers and plastic pants. She asked about it and I told her of my concerns. She understood and has been supportive. Following a night out with the boys, I fell asleep without diapers and wet our family room couch. I now make certain that I'm diapered well before bedtime. Last night, I was in the spare bedroom putting my diapers on when she walked in to ready a VHS tape to watch on a non HD TV and we carried on a conversation as we would at any other time. After I put my plastic pants on I helped her with a piece of exercise equipment to fold it up and move it out of the way. She has known my preference for diapers for over 30 years. She accepts that diapers and plastic pants are now necessary at night. I have always been a DL and the necessity of diapers has not changed that. It's good that you have been able to bring diapers into your relationship early and I hope things work our well for you in the years to come.
  2. As a baby of the early 50s cloth was all we had. As a teen in the 60s I was small enough to still fit into Curity 21x40s with Gerber Toddler sized plastic pants. Pampers were just becoming popular but no where big enough to fit a teenager. As soon as I realized there were adult disposable diapers available, I switched. Since most babies of the 70s and beyond were wearing disposable diapers it was easy to make a new connection. The carry over I have from my babyhood is plastic pants. I have always loved the look and feel of plastic pants and I think that being able to wear plastic pants as a teen is was got me hooked on diapers. I love to wet my diapers and without plastic pants as a teen it would not have been possible.
  3. Tranquility Slimline is my diaper of choice for days and I can get 3 or 4 good wettings when I use a baby diaper for a soaker. I drink a lot of coffee during the day so I wet on a regular basis and the combination of the two diapers and a pair of plastic pants works well for me. I put slits in the baby diaper so that it will soak through to the larger diaper. It's amazing how much can be contained with this combination. At night I do the same thing only my diaper is a Tranquility ATN. I started sleep wetting 18 months ago, and the amount I wet at night varies. Last night I wet a lot, my diapers this morning are very heavy. Because I wet while asleep, I have no idea how many times I wet but it must be quite a few. If you like the Slimlines at night, try the ATNs. They are much thicker. I also use baby diaper pins through the tapes and this gives a more secure feeling as I know the tapes won't let loose while I sleep.
  4. I don't know if they see a lot of people in diapers for a study, but I was one of them. I did a study about a year ago and I mentioned to the doctor during the interview that I was having some nighttime concerns. She didn't react one way or another. At the last moment, before I left home, I decided that being discovered wearing diapers and plastic pants was better than having someone find out I wet my bed. So when the tech left me in my room to get ready for bed I diapered myself and told her I was ready for the prep. If she noticed anything, she never mentioned it. Because I was sleeping in a strange bed, I woke several times during the night and had them stop the test so I could use the bathroom. I didn't wet that night but was still glad I decided to wear diapers. I won't be seeing those people ever again and my security was most important to me. They are professionals, I'm sure they see a lot of things during their work. If you have to wear diapers, wear diapers. If diapers are recreational then you have to decide on comfort and desire vs embarrassment.
  5. I returned to diapers when I was 13. I will be 58 this summer. When I was a teenager we didn't have the internet and for the longest time I thought I must be the only person in the world who is doing this. When the feelings of wearing diapers and plastic pants overcame me, I wanted nothing more to do with this. I can't count the number of times I purged everything. I made vows on many different birthdays that I'm now ___ years old and I won't wear diapers anymore. The key for me was coming to grips in my mind that there is nothing wrong with wearing diapers and plastic pants. I now wear diapers much more than not. I began to wet at night in July of '08 and have worn diapers to bed every night since October that year. In the morning I change out of my night diapers and let my skin air-out for an hour or so. Then I diaper up for the day and I will generally wear until late afternoon. Some more "air" time and then I will put on my night diapers around 6 at night. So, no, I don't think the desires will go away without a strong commitment to quit. For most of us here diapers are just another form of underwear and as mom said we always need to wear clean "underwear".
  6. I have maintained an 80 -85 lb lose for over a year. But even I have slipped a few pounds during this holiday season. But the good news is we all know what we have to do once the break is over. Congrats and happy new year to all who are having success.
  7. I'm sorry if my post was confusing. I don't have trouble wetting while I drive, I have trouble with my diaper not leaking while I drive. I can easily wet my diaper while sitting and typing this post, I can easily wet in my car, but in my car I most likely will leak "at the cheeks". Even if I slowly wet my diaper, more times than not I will leak.
  8. What's confusing is I don't feel I'm in a different position driving than I am now as I type this. I always wear a baby diaper as a stuffer whenever I wear diapers so nothing changes there either. Oh well, guess I'll just have to keep practicing until I get it right!!
  9. Betty, I'm with you. I have been a DL for over 40 years, it's only during the last 15 months that I have developed a need for diapers at night. And since I started working from home the convenience of daytime diapers has increased. I now spend many more hours of the day in diapers than out of diapers. I really enjoy wearing diapers but it also nice to take a break once in a while. As I close in on the big 6-0 I'm not so concerned anymore with what others may think. I know the sands in my hour glass are thinning and I want to enjoy being who I am.
  10. Since I wear diapers and plastic pants most of the time I can wet very easily. What I seem to have trouble with is wetting while driving. I tend to leak. I can wet while sitting at the computer, laying in bed, standing and walking and very rarely have a problem with leaks. While driving it's 50 - 50. You know, the half-moon, butt cheek circles! I wear good diapers(Tranquility) and Comco plastic pants and I try to regulate the flow, so if anyone has any thoughts please share.
  11. If you think about it, liberals have controlled the press and the schools for the last 40 years. It was only a matter of time before their robots elected someone like Obama. I, too, remember the Carter years and how bad things were. Now when i listen to Carter speak I want to vomit. The democRATS don't care about reform, they want everyone dependent upon the government to control their lives. They believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked around the world is because THEY haven't tried it yet. Reagan saved us from Carter because supply-side capitalism is the only answer. The mentality of 'the beatings will continue until the morale improves' is equal to taxing us to death to pay for the welfare of those who won't work. I hope America has realized "change" was not the direction this country needed. 2010 should show those commies the door and hopefully this once great country, that I proudly served, will return to it's greatness. Merry Christmas to all and God bless America.
  12. I don't go in for prints, so I go for Comco plastic pants. They are a heavier weight and they go nicely over my Tranquility diapers.
  13. I seem to have settled in the 80+ lb loss. I've gained a couple of pounds (8) from my low point but I'm very comfortable with my weight now. Like a previous poster I'm approaching 60 yo so how much more I can lose I don't know. I wear size medium diapers and I'll never get to size small. I look good (at least I think so) in just diapers and plastic pants (no noticeable love handles) and wear clothing that allows me to wear most of the time. I congratulate all who have stuck with it and continued their quest to lose weight. It's not easy and can be very disappointing along the way. It's so easy to fall back into the old routine and put the pounds (or stones) back on. Keep it up!! Remember that we didn't gain all the weight at one time nor should we expect it to all disappear at once. Wearing diapers 24/7 is a lifestyle change, so is losing weight. Continued success to all.
  14. I have been listening to tapes on warpmymind for some time and have been successful at achieving nighttime wetting. I don't wet every night but I'm afraid if I don't wear diapers every night I will have wet pants or a wet bed. I work from home so I wear diapers most of the day. I probably spend 18 - 20 hours a day in diapers. I truly enjoy the feelings of wearing diapers and plastic pants and feel more secure when doing so. I am able to wet my diapers while sitting, standing, walking, sleeping and driving without much thought. I think the key is to just relax and let the flow come naturally. I don't force it or try to prevent it, it just happens. If I'm not in diapers then I have to concentrate on NOT wetting. As far as bedwetting goes, I'm more surprised when I wake up dry than wet. I really get a happy feeling when I wake up and realize my diapers are wet and I don't remember it happening. I know I have to wear diapers to bed no matter who else is around. This includes every night at home, trips to my cabin, hotels, everywhere. I just take precautions so that my diapers are not that obvious. If anyone would comment I would say that diapers and plastic pants are a practical solution to a sensitive problem. Just relax and be yourself. Enjoy your diapers. If bedwetting is your goal you can achieve it.
  15. I wear diapers in public all the time. I recently wore to a urology appointment. I buy my diapers from a place called 'diapers for less' and the lady and I have a good relationship. If I'm going to be out of the house for any length of time I wear diapers. My urology visit confirmed I have OAB so I do worry about having accidents in public. I have become a bedwetter and night diapers are a necessity. I probably wear diapers an average of 18 to 20 hours per day. Because of the bedwetting I have to wear diapers even when others are around. I'm afraid if I fall asleep I will wet myself and I think that would be more embarrassing than wear diapers while others are around. I don't flaunt that I wear diapers and I try to make them unnoticeable but if anyone has known they have not said anything. For me, wearing diapers and maybe having to explain why to a few people is better than having an accident and having to explain why to a crowd of people why I wet my pants.
  16. For the past year I have been wearing diapers and plastic pants to bed every night (except 3). I wear Tranquility ATNs and Comco plastic pants with a baby diaper for a stuffer. This combination works very well for me. The only concern I've had is sometimes the tapes slip during the night. So a while back I went to Babies R Us and bought two packs of diaper pins. I poke the diaper pins through the plastic about 1/2 inch in front of the blue tape and push it through both tapes so the head of the diaper pin rests on the two tapes. This keeps the tapes from slipping and allows a really secure diaper. I was recently diagnosed with OAB and now diapers are becoming a daytime need as well. Being more active during the day using diaper pins assures no accidental slipping of the tapes. Granted, the tapes didn't fail very often but I also like the symbolism of using baby diaper pins.
  17. The same thing has happened to me, only I'm in my mid 50s. I recently went to an urologist, the cost was staggering. He diagnosed me with OAB and perscribed some pills, that I've yet to take. I've been a DL since my early teens so wearing diapers and plastic pants is not an inconvenience. My bladder is also weakening during the day so for long trips (one hour or more) I wear diapers. As I said, I don't mind wearing diapers almost all of the time, the only reason I went to the doctor was to make sure there wasn't something else going on. There are much worse things that can happen to you than having to wear diapers and plastic pants.
  18. I have been listening to Warpmymind regularly for a few years and have had great results. I listen to diaper dependence 2, bedwetter fear to reality, curse diaper humiliation, train baby bladder and several others quite often. They are free for the listening, so what do you have to lose. I use the tapes as background noise throughout the day. I wear diapers and plastic pants to bed nightly and wet in my sleep 4 or 5 nights a week. I work from home so I spend most days diapered as well. I can now wet without thinking much about it and have to remember if I'm not diapered. I'm very concerned that if I don't wear diapers at night I will wet in my sleep. For that reason I will usually put my diapers on around 7 or 8 at night. That way I'm protected and so is my furniture and/or bedding.
  19. I also work from home. I wear diapers and plastic pants every night for bed. I will usually change out of my night diapers around 6:30 each morning. I then wash up or shower and stay out of diapers until around 7:15. Then I will put on my daytime diapers and plastic pants and start my day. I will stay diapered throughout the day and finally change out of diapers around 4:30 in the afternoon. I will let my skin air out until around 7:00 or 8:00 in the evening and then get diapered for bed. So I spend a lot of hours a day in diapers if I can. I wore diapers to work for over a year before I moved my office home. I now wear diapers so often that I don't even think about what I wear. Its just as natural for me to tape on a diaper as it for someone else to pull on underwear.
  20. No matter which diet or program we choose, the important thing to do is to stay on it. It is so easy to "fall off the wagon" and return to all the bad habits we used to have. It has been long said that it take three weeks to form a habit, good or bad. The frustrating thing for me is that I can spend a weekend being bad and it takes a week to recover and if I spend a week being good it doesn't show. I was at my doctor's office yesterday and he made the comment that I had managed to keep so much weight off for over a year and how remarkable that was. I'm sure he sees everyday how people lose large amounts of weight only to gain it all, and more, back over time. I know this has happened to me many times. My mind set is that I won't allow this to happen again. As I get older there are other complications that can come with being obese. I love wearing medium sized diapers and the good feeling I have wearing pants with a waist size in the 30s. Would I like to lose more, yes, but as I approach 60 will that be possible? Yes, if I really want it. I just need to maintain my want to do it. Again, congrats to all who are succeeding. Keep up the good work. Your goals are attainable but not easy. Remember, you didn't gain it all at once so don't expect to lose it all at once. We all hit plateaus, keep on going. Don't get discouraged and do what works for you.
  21. We are going to our cabin this weekend and we're having visitors so my wife wants me to try not wearing an ATN. So I'm trying a CVS men's disposable underwear with an extra large baby diaper as a stuffer, all covered by a pair of Comco plastic pants. I've tried 3 of these combinations throughout the day and so far it has worked each time. I'm still worried what night happen during the night - we'll see.
  22. If I stay alive until tomorrow I'll be 57. It is so much easier for the younger folks to come to terms with this lifestyle than it was for us at the same age. Awareness is greater, product availability is greater and communications is greater. When I was a teenager I thought I was the only one who chose to wear diapers and plastic pants. Maybe it was a curse being smaller because Curity diapers and Gerber toddler plastic pants actually fit. I was hooked on the first diaper and I look forward to each new diaper. I now wet in my sleep on a regular basis so wearing diapers to bed is no longer an option. I don't mind. While I'm not anxious for others to know, I'm also at an age where diapers are no longer unusual. To the younger crowd, enjoy what you have and try not to care what others may think.
  23. I have managed to hold at down 80lbs. I kind of fell off the "eating wagon" and went for several days eating potato chips and drinking beer. But the good news is that my morning walks range from 3 - 5+ miles. I know that that has built up more muscle and I know that muscle weighs more than fat. I have 9 days to the start of an event I'll attend and I want to lose the 10 lbs I gained back. Congrats to everyone who has been successful in losing weight. I know I like wearing medium sized diapers better than the large ones. And I love the fact that my diapers fit very comfortably. Let's keep encouraging each other and may we all hit our goals before the end of the year.
  24. Like PhilDL, I have been using Tranquility ATNs for some time now. I have had some small issues with the tapes but I have solved that by using baby diaper pins with the tapes. I have not had a tape slip since I began using diaper pins. I, too, use baby diapers as a booster and this added combination works very well. I buy my diapers locally and in person from a lady who has a small warehouse. She is very helpful and has allowed me to use many samples for finding the right combination that works best. Even without the booster baby diaper I was able to wet my ATN diaper 3 or 4 times without leaking. With baby diaper booster I can wear the same diaper for most of the day. I'm fortunate that I don't have problems with diaper rash. The diaper combination I use costs about $1.25 per application for nighttime wearing and about $1.03 for daytime use with the Tranquility Slimlines.
