Here we are again with baby-pants. Has anyone tried ordering from them recently? I ordered a couple of pairs of plastic pants back in January to test for fit and had no problems. Tried to order again a couple of times over the past few weeks, and when I get to the "check out" button, it pops open a window that then immediately closes without completing the transaction. This has happened on Firefox and Chrome on one computer, on Safari on my iPad, and on Chrome on a different computer. I emailed them about the issue a couple of weeks ago but haven't heard anything back.

Oh wow! Thank you so very much! I definitely remember the Target plastic pants being tighter than the Gerber, but I loved the smooth, shiny vinyl of the Target pants much better than the Gerber. I don't think I ever saw the Safety First pants. All I could get my hands on were Gerber, Target, and Toddle Time. I really liked the Toddle Time plastic-covered training pants, but even though I could fit into the Gerber/Target Toddler size, I just could not squeeze into even the largest of the Toddle Time. Hello, everyone! I'm reaching out to ask our collectors for help from anyone who has any vintage Gerber plastic pants from the 1970s or 1980s. I've been thinking a lot about my DL childhood and when I was a teenager in the mid 80s, I was able to wear Gerber Toddler sized plastic panties (and the Target version) until I was about 18. I have absolutely zero clue what my measurements were at the time. If anyone happens to have any of the old Gerber or Target plastic pants in Toddler size (or JCPenney ToddleTime in the largest, which is Size 4 I think), would you be able to measure the waistband, legbands, and rise (from center of waistband to bottom of crotch) of them and post them here? There are a lot of items and toys that might be called babyish or at least juvenile: clacker carts, teddy bears (of all sizes, even huge ones), baby bonnets to go with your sleepers and pacifiers, blow-up wading pools for summer, balloons you can hold or put out for decoration. Now that it's December and they've started their "Toy Day" season, they've introduced new toys in the Nook's Cranny store. Most of those are kind of old-fashioned. I just wish they would let us carry around a teddy bear like we can carry around our tools or a balloon.

I got all my information from this video before I tried experimenting: It's a liquid, and it's supposed to be non-toxic, but you should always wash your hands afterwards. I've softened quite a few of my pairs of plastic pants with it. I always just used my bare hands. This is the procedure I used: Turn the plastic pants inside out. Squirt some Sculpey softener inside - the more you use, the softer your pants will get. Massage the pants to get the Sculpey evenly spread around. At first, the vinyl will feel oily, slick, and will look super shiny. Fold them up and let them sit. Massage them a couple times a day to keep the softener spread around. After a couple of days, the slick feeling will start to go away. After a few more days, when your pants don't feel oily or look as shiny anymore, they should be as soft as they can be with the amount you used. Hand wash the pants in slightly warm water and just a bit of mild laundry detergent. I had a few pairs that were hardened in the crotch from me constantly touching the plastic. Those, I "spot treated" by just using a little bit of softener and rubbing it in with my hands. I had other pairs that I wanted to make super soft and rubbery, so I did what I describe above. It took about five or six days, but now they almost feel like rubber instead of vinyl. Just keep in mind that your mileage may vary. The thinner the vinyl or the softer it is to start with, the less softener you need and the less time it should take. The thicker the vinyl is, or the harder it is, the more softener you need and the longer it will take. It's possible that some plastic might not be able to be softened this way if it's too far gone or too damaged. Always start with a little bit and repeat as necessary to get the softness you want. Oh, I almost forgot. If you go "super soft" like I did, keep your plastic pants away from direct contact with hard PVC or polyurethane. The softeners in your plastic pants will want to leech out and into those other plastics, damaging both of them! If you've ever seen what rubber worms can do to a plastic tackle box, you know what I'm talking about!

Okay, well, since someone else already necro'd this thread... I have 2 fetishes: diapers/plastic pants and inflatable pool toys. For me, one of the best feelings in the world is straddling a big blow-up toy like an inflatable orca ride-on in a wet diaper. Let myself sink into that soft, warm vinyl that stretches out around me and pushes my legs further apart. The air pressure squishes my diaper up against all of the sensitive parts (front and back). It feels awesome just by itself, but then I can't help but start bouncing until the magic happens and I shoot off into my diaper. The best part about wearing diapers while I hump my pool toys is there's no messy clean up afterwards, and diapers protect those sensitive spots from the seams. Seriously, those suckers can be sharp!

My big question is what about the overall length of the diaper? Is it longer than the NorthShore Supreme? I thought the Supremes and Supreme Lites could have been excellent diapers for me except for the fact that they were far too short. Hip-hugger short on me. I could never get a decent fit because of that.

If you have favorite plastic panties that you'd like to rescue, and if you can get to a craft store (or get it online): Sculpey clay softener can sometimes soften and rejuvenate vinyl that has hardened. In a nutshell, PVC plastic is actually hard and brittle (think PVC pipes). Manufacturers add softeners (called "plasticizers") to it to make it soft and flexible. Oils break down those plasticizers. So will heat and ultraviolet light, so don't hang your plastic panties out to dry in the sun. The softer and thinner the vinyl of the plastic panties, the quicker this process occurs. Sculpey "clay" isn't really clay, it's powdered vinyl suspended in a plasticizer base. Sculpey clay softener is just a bottle of liquid plasticizer to soften vinyl clay that has gone hard, but you can use it on any vinyl to soften it. There are videos of people using it on pool toys made of thick, stiff vinyl to make them much softer and more rubbery. As usual, though, your mileage may vary: your plastic panties might be softened up really well, or the vinyl might be too damaged from the oils to ever go back to being soft again.

Another way to add serious crinkle is with polyurethane pants. NOT polyurethane laminate (PUL) but actual polyurethane pants. Most places that sell them call them something like "Euroflex" or "Superflex". You can get them from fetware.com, I know, and some other places I can't remember off the top of my head. Super crinkly!
