  1. It could happen! I remember I hadn't used Attends in a while and then when I bought a bag again, they kept giving me a rash. The manufacturers might make some subtle change to their materials and that could be the causative agent. Just try some other brand for a while and see if it still gives you a rash.
  2. There's no way she'll care about your diaper! Almost all the patients in our rehab ward walk/wheel around in insanely crinkly diapers or have a catheter tube sticking out of their shorts. Any medical professional with frequent patient interaction will have seen enough incontinent folks to be completely desensitized.
  3. Badback, I wouldn't worry AT ALL about what the doctors/nurses/PT's are thinking - unless it's their first week on the job they've seen enough patients in diapers that it's not even anything special anymore. In our rehab ward, you can go to the facilities, close your eyes, and hear the crinkling of folks from ten feet or fifteen feet away - everyone's more or less used to it. I've brought up the topic with other students to probe what normies think of it; I said stuff like "it's so weird to walk through that place and you can tell who's in diapers". Most of them respond very maturely, so I would think the full fledged professionals would be even better about it!
  4. I think it's about time I attended one of NH's meetings . . . maybe. Still a bit skittish though. Really I'd just like to maybe meet folks one at a time around Columbus or Dayton; I think that'd be a much less intimidating prospect. The folks in NE Ohio have a lot of get togethers, though they tend to limit how much diapers play into their events. I certainly do appreciate that they're normal folks and that we don't need Pampers to have fun, but sometimes I do wish they'd loosen up a bit.
  5. I'm always game for a few drinks. I've been trying to meet ANYONE from around Columbus, but so far the only folks I've been able to meet up with are from Cleveland and Cincy. Depressing
  6. I've been messing around with trying to make a stent for what seems like ages, but I finally have something that sorta works! Just takes a few catheters of various sizes to make. I originally tried making it short so that it just spanned the bladder neck, but through experience and med school, I found out that there are more muscles further down that keep that idea from working Insertion and removal is, however, the weak point of my stent and at the moment, I just use a catheter to push it into place and a string attached to the distal end to pull it back out. The thing works really well; can't feel it, but you can feel the urine dribbling out of you.
  7. There's not really anything on the medical market that will achieve what us kinky folk want. Doesn't mean it can't be done though! After hearing about the idea of stents a few years back, I bought a bunch of catheters and messed around with making my own. Took a dozen or so caths and some painful experiments, but I finally did end up making stents that work pretty darn well. With one in, I'm totally incontinent, can't really feel the stent in me, but I can feel the urine dripping out uncontrollably, and the only sign of it is a string that pokes out so that I can retrieve it eventually.
  8. Sounds exactly like my fiance! It's been getting better over time though; just recently we reached a semi-explicit agreement in which I can frolic around in diapers once a week. Took seven years . . . but whatever. She hasn't mentioned it lately but I do remember that one of her biggest concerns was that she'd see me differently if I was wearing diapers more frequently. On another note, my fiance and I also use "pants" as our codeword I picked it up from some ABDL friends I met. Was there a memo about it that I missed?
  9. Sometimes I wear if I'm gonna study for a few hours at the library, just to make the drudgery a tiny bit more bearable. I like to load up on liquids though, and sometimes I get a bit overzealous . . . I've only actually leaked once, but it was in the crowded main library in the middle of exam week :X As I tried my best to act casual on the way to the bathroom, I'd never been happier in my life that I've a proclivity for dark pants!
  10. Thanks for the replies, makes a lot more sense now It also looks like it might be a *bit* on the weird side, but whatever, I'll live. I just hope it doesn't have a tendency to fall down.
  11. The only worthwhile diaper I can think of that isn't available in the US is the Tena Slip Maxi. Costs a ton of money to have it shipped overseas, and while I liked it a lot and it looked great, I couldn't really justify the price.
  12. I was browsin' the interwebs when I found a site that sold an adult onesie I kinda liked. I bought the thing, only to find out later on google that evidently the only articles of clothing with a "lap neck" are more or less onesies for babies. So . . . what exactly does lap neck mean, and since I would be wearing it under stuff like button up shirts so that the collar would be visible, would it look weird to people who do know what a lap neck is? Here's the onesie I'm talkin' about. http://www.babykins.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=B&Product_Code=12000LAP&Category_Code=KCLTH
  13. Wow, that really blows. I can't imagine how he could forget that little tidbit . . . I mean if he can tell you the price of a blood draw, he should know the test price too! It might be because of insurance reasons, but I'm not sure exactly to whom it applies. A pediatrician explained to me how if you go to the doctor for a specific ailment, the insurance company (or medicaid) might only cover that one thing; if the doctor decides you need something else, it won't be covered unless you make a separate appointment. So she described how if a kid comes in for immunizations and it turns out they need some other tests, she'll just bill insurance for whichever is more expensive and give the cheaper procedure as a freebie. But if they're both expensive, she needs to do it another time unless she wants to lose out on several hundred dollars.
  14. Just outta curiosity, when do most kids get fully toilet trained and out of pullups? I havn't taken care of many normal kids (mostly just disabled ones), so normal markers kinda elude me. I'm always making stupid comments to moms like "wow, he's three and he can talk?!" only to be met with incredulous and offended faces. On another note, are bad experiences with doctors really that frequent for you guys? I was kinda surprised that it was unexpected for him to treat the psoriasis and BP as well; it seems like something any doc should do. Then again, I suppose it depends on your insurance.
  15. I remember visiting Kroger's a while back and saw the same thing, only I'm pretty sure the briefs weren't in the diaper aisle either. Considering how much effort it took to steel myself in preparation of buying diapers from a physical location (this was back a few years when I was more paranoid), I was pretty damn miffed that I was out of luck!
