  1. Probably 2XL to 3XL. I wear XL but I prefer a puffier look. Helen can make any size for you, if you want something specific just send her a pair of your favorite fitting pants and she can duplicate them. She normally uses Babykins vinyl, but she can also make pants out of whatever vinyl you send her.
  2. And I had Sweet Baby Designs by Helen make me some too, they're awesome and holding up really well! What I like most about these pants is a mistakable new vinyl smell that Gerber used to have 🙂
  3. And they feel awesome! Unfortunately Darlene my seamstress is retiring, but perhaps Helen at Sweet Baby Designs, who Noisey Pants mentioned, could make you some 😉
  4. Seamstress got some done. I haven't been this happy since VIP was in business 😁
  5. Probably not, as she is retiring due to health reasons. But I did give CTDC a heads up about the vinyl, as they're thinking about making their own line of pants.
  6. I bet you're thinking of Comco, as the material I found was the same thickness as the Gerber baby pant in the photo, which VIP used identical vinyl.
  7. I did find some very Gerber/VIP-ish vinyl, measures 4 mil thick and very inexpensive. The samples are remarkably similar to the vintage gerber pant in the photo. I ordered a couple rolls and having my favorite seamstress make some pants for me, with matte side out 🙂 https://www.onlinefabricstore.com/white-unsupported-vinyl-sheeting-fabric-.htm
  8. I second what Bettypooh said. Since I grew up in Gerbers and VIP later, I use Langs exclusively with my twill prefolds, with the matte side out. They actually fit much better than VIPs, higher back with more forward facing legs, and have the same comfortable elastics. They don't take too much machine washing and drying, probably the fault of strong laundry detergents, but I simply rinse them out with a mild shampoo mix in my morning shower and let them hang dry. I have four pair in rotation, maybe replacing a pair every 6-8 months.
  9. I use 4-10-4 prefold twill diapers, with a youth prefold as a booster, from Changing Times Diaper co...extremely absorbant and comfortable. However, CTD is closing out business, but RearZ, Natural Cloth Depot, and Baby Pants sells them as well. Gauze prefolds from ACD is good too, but I like the twill prefold even better.
  10. Tally a mark for me. I've started bedwetting about 7 months ago after a I was prescribed CPAP machine for my sleep apnea, which is the reverse of normal since the treatment often cures nocturnal enuresis in most bedwetting children and adults. I was pre-warned that I could wet the bed if I normally got up to go in the night, and I should adjust to the CPAP machine and the bedwetting will normally go away. But since I sleep on a $1400 Temperpedic mattress, it was recommended that I purchase a mattress cover prior to sleeping with the CPAP just in case and being a DL prior to diagnosis, I had a small stash of diapers and plastic pants I decided to wear until I determine that all was safe. Nothing on the first night, I didn't even wake up needing to go, but on the second night of use I woke up with a soaked diaper!! Granted, it was from a couple of IPA beers earlier that evening, but in no way was I drunk and I haven't wet the bed since I was 6. During my childhood, I pretty much night potty trained myself by going to the bathroom before bed and restricted my fluid intake. Still, during those 32 years between, I never wet the bed, though I would normally wake once during the night to go to the bathroom, especially after extra fluid intake. But with the CPAP, I slept right through it. I've talked with the nurses and sleep study folks, other CPAP users, and the CPAP supplier and bedwetting has been known to happen and the user eventually adjusts to the machine, but seven months later I'm waking up wet more often that not. On the days I wet, I wake up in the morning feeling good and ready to start the day; on the days I don't I wake up dehydrated and feeling like crap...so fluid restriction isn't the answer. My annual physical blood and urinalysis tests turned up nothing, sugar levels are where they're supposed to be and no infections. I haven't recently been back to the sleep doc to discuss the bedwetting issue and maybe I should, but the last thing I want is more meds on top of what I already take and more doctor bills that I can't afford. In confiding with family, they said that I shouldn't give up the CPAP machine and the bedwetting/diapers is no big deal to them, and assure me that its nothing to be ashamed of; "I'd rather you wake up in a wet diaper than to not wake up at all from sleep apnea" was the response. I have to to be honest, in the past I've often fantasized about what it would be like to be a bedwetter, but I wasn't serious about it since the potential inconvenience to my lifestyle and the potential embarrassment, but now its happened and the inconvenience was minimal and embarrassment fears were unwarranted...no more inconvenience and embarrassment than the CPAP machine itself. I've gotten used to bedwetting and the diapers make it much easier to deal with, washing a load every 3-4 days instead of washing my bedding every day. The only thing I'm out so far is a few hundred bucks stocking up on extra prefolds and plastic pants, and the laundry duty that goes with them. The affect to my lifestyle has been minimal at this point; though long term dating is going to be a concern. I'm thinking at this point, don't discuss the bedwetting until the dating starts to turn into a long term relationship. At which point, I will discuss and if the date understands then that is great...if she doesn't, then she isn't very a understanding person and isn't someone I want to be with anyway. If someone wants to chime in on the subject of bedwetting and dating, please do.
  11. Mine went down to 85% during the initial sleep test, not good according to the doc.
  12. My sleep wetting has slowed down a bit after the first few nights and I haven't wet at all for the past 5 days, probably gotten use to the machine. I do sleep better and I feel much more rested during the day. But before the CPAP, I haven't sleep wet in years and now that its happened with CPAP, I'm not going to take a chance on ruining my Temperpedic mattress by sleeping without diapers and plastic pants...they've literally saved my mattress!! In the end, if CPAP causes me to become nighttime diaper dependent...then so be it. The family that I have told so far have been very supportive, and they reiterated my initial thoughts about the alternative of sleep apnea; they'd rather have me wake up in a wet diaper than to not wake up at all.
  13. Anyone with some input? I've been on CPAP for4 nights now, so far two 3 wet nights and one dry. Seems to happen when I go into long term deep sleep with the machine. Once I dreampt of peeing in the shower (which I often do) and woke up peeing in my diaper, the other two I have no recollection of. But the CPAP machine has me feeling better than I ever have before, very rested on only 4 hours of sleep versus feeling tired after 8 hours of sleep before CPAP. My logical conclusions for my bedwetting is that I have never before been in deep sleep long enough to have wetting dreams (stop breathing 13 times/hour), or perhaps it has something to do with the humidifier on the machine, or with the CPAP I can deeply sleep enough that I am not awaken by the full bladder (the latter makes the most sense). I am certain of this, I think I've had sleep apnea ever since I initially potty trained, (5 yrs old by day, 7 yrs old by night), and my night training got me to be easily awoken by an full bladder. Now I feel that I can sleep through a train wreck, so my full bladder doesn't stand a chance.
  14. Hi all, I just got started on CPAP to treat my sleep apnea. I've never wet the bed since I was 6, only wore diapers for fun. But after reading a couple of posts about the extra good deep sleep with the CPAP machine, I decided to wear on my first night rather than taking a chance on ruining my Temperpedic mattress should my bladder get full. Though I had trouble getting used to the machine on the first night, I did noticed a small urine spot on the front of my prefold. Hardley enough to make it through to the mattress if I hadn't had protection, but a urine spot none the less. The second night was better sleep with no urine, but I did empty my badder and cut back on the H20 before going to bed that night. I assume that if one goes to bed with a full bladder or body full of H20, the deep restful sleep with the CPAP machine might keep one from waking up to empty their bladder. Most medical posts I read says that CPAP cures bedwetting in children, and doesn't cause it in adults, but there are a few out there that say they never wet the bed until they got started on CPAP. Any other experiences with sleep apnea treatment?
  15. Try Lang's original pants, they are my choice after VIP closed their doors and in a lot of ways, they are a superior pant with an even more babyish feel and look and available in different colors besides white. My link
  16. Hey all, I'm on the verge of going through a purge. I met someone that I don't want to screw my chances of scoring a relationship with her, so out it all goes. If everything goes right, I am quite sure that the DL tendancies will go away. What I have is a cloth diaper and plastic pants collection that I am putting feelers out to see what I can get out of them versus selling the stuff individually on Ebay. What I have is all in good to very good condition and thoroughly washed. 4 Large Nighttime Gauze Prefolds from Adult Cloth Diaper Various baby prefolds for inserts 24 Pairs of XL VIP/Gerber plastic pants 10 Pairs of L VIP/Gerber Plastic Pants 5 Fetware XL Narrow Elastic Plastic pants 2 Fetware L High Back Plastic Pants 2 Fetware L Regular plastic Pants 4 Kins XL Plastic Pants 2 Kins L Plastic Pants 1 Adult Cloth Diaper Co XL Plastic pants 3 Adult Cloth Diaper Co L Plastic Pants 1 Gary/Plastic Pants.com XL Pants 1 Gary/Plastic Pants.com L Pants Various Gerber pins, Turtles, Bears, etc. I am just looking for feeler offers for the whole lot. I would rather not separate, but if I did, I will be selling them individually on Ebay. You can contact me at vip_gerberboy@yahoo.com thanks -mikey
  17. Yes I have a good stock of gerber pants, but I'll keep the petition going. Just because Nestle bought them out doesn't mean that they will stop making the pants nor is it a reason to stop the petition. After all, one can sign it online in less time that it takes to read this post. If gerber is sold off, perhaps VIP will buy Gerber Babywear and have access to the materials again. So, please sign anyway if you haven't already, unless you don't agree with signing it.
  18. Hey all, I just made an online petition to get Gerber to reproduce their plastic pants in adult sizes. Ever since Vinyl Incontinent Products, former adult Gerber division, lost their vinyl supplier to overseas, these high quality pants are no longer available. Since Gerber is still making their plastic pants in infant-toddler sizes, they still have access to the same vinyl supplier. The Petition URL is http://www.petitiononline.com/Ge...ition.html and all entered email addresses have a privacy option. Also, it wouldn't hurt to drop Gerber a note here http://www.gerber.com/contactus I already emailed Gerber with my suggestion and they replied that they will forward my suggestion to the appropriate people, so I'm hopefull that we can make a difference. Hopefully, if we all stick together and sign, we can get Gerber to act. Also, will the moderator make this a "pinned" post in the forum? Thanks Mikey
  19. 62 signatures after 48 hours of being active, not bad at all. To those who have not signed, please do a fellow diaper wearer a favor and take 60 seconds to sign the petition. The time it takes to sign is less than it takes to read this post. It may not do any good, but after all, what can it hurt. Mikey
