    Love and jealousy can make you crazy. All Julie had to do was respect Elise enough to talk, and she blew it. Not ready to give up on Julie and her love for Elise just yet. I’ll be interested to see how this all plays out and what (or who) is behind the loops/mind games. If all paths truly lead to adoption, I hope Elise can get Julie to see how Catherine and Tom approach it.

    Now that you mention the intentionality, I’ll have to dig into your other protagonists’ names. I did appreciate the multicultural approach. I have family connections to China, so that one caught me right from the start. As far as the name Ai, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that it’s possible there’s an Artificial Intelligence at work here. Which leads me back to Lyra Silver. Her story is called Luna, and it’s about an artificial intelligence-based app. It’s a fairly quick read and very good. Check it out if you have time. She mentions at the outset an editor named Sophie…maybe your Sophie? I hope your holidays are wonderful and you get some rest between semesters…but don’t leave Wendy hanging there too long! ? <Follow up: Did look up the names. Nice touch!>

    *walks away…head down…might go in a corner and pout* Not entirely shocked, but definitely disappointed in Julie. You gave me hope, then pulled the rug out from under me. Rats. (I still love the story) I mentioned after one of the early “loops” that this might all just be a head game…looks more and more likely.

    @Mia Moore I’ve binged your Academy series, and although they are a tad darker than my usual fare, you’ve quite captured my imagination! I love your psychological mind game approach and how you’ve built an interconnected world of plots and characters. I am particularly gratified that you took the advice of @BabySofia and added another point of view. It adds so much depth to your characters and your Academy-verse. It’s a device she and @LittleFallenPrincess use quite effectively. For me, one of the things that stood out in A:I, and honestly one of the reasons I was so captivated, was the name of your Asian character, Ai. I don’t know if you realized it, but “ai” is the Chinese word for love and the written character for it has the radical for heart at its center. I am super curious about the appearance of Lyra and Mr. Silver at roughly the same time. Any chance that’s a nod to author @Lyra Silver? (also one of my favorites). That said, I am thoroughly enjoying your writing and can’t wait to see how you tie everything together!

    Wondering how long it’s going to take them to realize they can’t trade Nia for the Child of Darkness because she is the Child of Darkness. I think they got the incantation right, they just got something they didn’t expect.

    Not ready to give up on Julie. I agree she may think she has Elise’s best interests at heart. Julie’s own heart may be a factor as well…the clues are there, Elise just doesn’t see them.

    I have no doubt it will be worth the wait. I highly encourage you to use your gift…regardless of the style/genre. You are an exceptional writer and it would be a shame to waste such talent. ❤️? Trying hard not to go all fan-baby on you, but I really do like your writing style. ?

    You have done such a great job with this story. ❤️ Creating a virtual character that is so creepy at first, yet easily believable and that I actually care about by the end of the story is wonderful. You also did such a nice job with Sophie’s character, making her someone I had compassion for right from the start. The EOF chapter is the perfect conclusion to this story. Went right back to being just a little creepy when Luna broke the fourth wall and was talking directly to me, but I’d have clicked DOWNLOAD in a heartbeat. I really do hope you continue to write for this genre. There are some talented writers here, and IMHO you stand out as one of the best.

    This is a very good story and I hope you’ll continue as you are able. I have to admit to being a little put off by most of the characters other than Melissa. Each seems to be taking gross advantage of her and right now I’d drop a piano on Sarah. Ironically, her mother is one of the only people who truly seem to have Melissa’s best interests at heart. As a hopeless romantic, I’d love to see Tammy develop more of a selfless, loving relationship with Melissa as the program progresses. There are plenty of other characters to create anxiety, I hope Tammy could be a true safe place for Missy. I fully understand needing a break and I hope you get the rest you need.

    So, Alicia’s recollection of Elise’s name brings up an interesting notion I almost mentioned earlier: that Elise might not be the only one who’s aware of the loop. Or Alicia is in on it somehow. We know so little about her. I’m sorry Elise didn’t go to the appointment with Eve. ? You gave us hope and then swiped it out from under us. Rats. ? And if you get “one phone call” in DD…who do you suppose Elise might call? Julie or Alicia? If she’s in WTF mode, might be Alicia.
