I agree 100%. Too much of what is taught in public schools is based on fantasy more than reality. I always try to correct my kids when they come home with that nonsense, but I have to be careful for fear they may fail a class for knowing the truth instead of quoting the politically correct bullshit. This "No Child Left Behind" bullshit is ruining the educational system as well. Forcing schools to teach all children at the pace of the slowest child is going to create a nation of idiots. Give every child a trophy that plays a game? No winners? My ass! Competition is what made this country what it is and I think we should encourage it.

Our Schools are drowning in a sea of political correctness. My kids and grandkids know more about Martil Luthur King than George Washington. I am sick of it. My granddaughter was asked about how slaves came to America and she answered "rival tribes in Africa sold captives as slaves". The answer was correct but it was not the answer the teacher was looking for. It is time to cut the political correctness and educate our children!

Spoon, it doesn't matter that Franklin wasn't around for the post 9/11 world. His words are still true. The Founding Fathers tried to put "checks and balances" in place to prevent things from happening like this, but over the years, many corrupt politicians have TWISTED the words of the Founders so that they can take more power away from the people. WE, the PEOPLE of America, need to RISE UP against this oppressor of a president and put America back on the right track, the Capitalism track. You cannot grow an economy by throwing "stimulus" money at the companies (or by increasing company credit lines). That stimulus money should be in the hands of the PEOPLE, the drivers of the economy. Without people purchasing goods and services from the companies, the economy will get WORSE! I agree Pete, all I see in Obama is a Stalin/Marx wannabe, and he is trying to turn America into a clone of the old USSR.

I'm a hell of a lot more afraid of what my own government can do then a ragtag band of Jihadist hoodlums.

I have been watching with some interest in the reactions of the people and I have to say about it all. Move it or put it in the story forum. It ain't real as the plot thickened with every bit of advice. right down to the better be careful advice about someone finding this thread and Low and behold it happened just like the other minor details. But hey a good story is just that a good story! Maybe the mods could put it where it belongs in the story section if he wants to continue.
