Has This Got To Be The Biggest Rip Off Ever?

I quite like wearing Lille Supreme Fit Maxi nappies, so today I orderd myself six packets of the extra large ones, plus some Insert Pads costing £76 for 120 nappies, not bad I think..... I was searhing the internet when I come upon a very established incontinence site selling the very same nappies for over double the price.... £30 for a pack of 20 = £170 for six packets..... Am I seeing things? How can they get away with selling them at that fricking price? All them little old ladies still using order catalogs getting shafted...

Tell me I'm not seeing things....

Strange. I'd hope it's an error on Dry For Life's part...

I used to buy from Allanda all the time before I left Britain and they were always one of the cheaper suppliers and fast, too...

It has always amazed me how I can order the same case of diapers on one site for nearly half the price of another. Makes me wonder who those overpriced providers even sell too. There prices are all online and anyone with half a brain can do a search and find the various prices from site to site and go with the cheapest. I do this when I order but I always check price plus shipping as it will throw the numbers one way or another. I also like to take advantage of free shipping by buying the at least enough to receive it. Lastly, I make sure they use discrete shipping and if there's a fee, add that to the price too and go with whoevers cheapest. There all the same diaper.

I think the companies online that are way over priced are selling to people who a. don't care about price, b. don't check on prices, and c. healthcare providers or insurance claims where price doesn't seem to matter.

I figure, if I can spend hours on this site, why not spend an hour or two researching the best price on diapers. I have my favorite sites I go to depending on what I'm ordering as one site may be cheaper on one thing but not another.

that's why you always shop around

Exactly. Not doing so (bad circumstances) cost me $770 for a fuel pump... :(

Shopping around for an accuator repair got it done for free instead of around $300.

This is why it is important to shop around and learn how to do things (like auto/house/whatever repair) yourself.

Like I said, bad circumstances.

My dad is an ex-mechanic but doesn't have time to do anything himself anyway.

Trust me I've been there. I sold one of the best cars I ever had simply because I didn't understand its potential. And I had a mechanic do a lot more damage than good to one of my cars. Since then the only person to touch my cars has been the only person I trust. ME.

I feel like doing a Homer Simpson "Doh!" to myself :o I always wondered about the "VR6" part of your screen-name and now it finally makes sense  Unless you already know who you're dealing with well, if you're not shopping around you are getting ripped off :( Just be sure that you're making an apples-to-apples comparison. One mechanic may quote for a rebuilt part while another quotes for OEM new. One plumber may do your home addition with the same copper piping you have now while another may switch to cheaper plastic. It all makes a difference in the end B) Those who don't ask the right questions won't ever get the right answers ;) VR6 you say- nice ride ya got there

The Vr was my baby. But as of recent I've fallen in love with an old rabbit and a diesel jetta. So as much as it hurts me to say this, the Vr has lived a long life and will become a parts car for the other two. I've already begun to swap out interior bits to the rabbit and plan to swap the suspension/brakes/wheels on to the Jetta. Hopefully I'll end up with a nice shell with which to build a track car.:drive1:

Oh and some thing I've learned the hard way that is in line with your post:

If you think it's expensive to have a professional do it, Try having an amateur do it. See what costs you more in the long run.

Makes me wonder who those overpriced providers even sell too.

A company I no longer work for made one product with two names. They slapped on a different sticker, sent it to a higher end store and got more money for it.

A lot of times it has to do with bulk discounts. ie: how Walmart can sell for less than a single-location store.
