Elfy
They discontinued the plastic backed ones probably because the more cloth like ones are more discreet, probably cheaper to make and probably better for the environment. Link to comment
Repaid1
You should visit the site more and keep up to date, as was said this has been known around these parts for quite some time, if you want to know something about diapers this is the place to be Link to comment
technomonkey
I ordered 2 cases of the Tena Slip Maxi from xp medical and this was before the site said out of stock and i got an email that said. Sorry we are out of stock on your order. Tena product was going to be out of stock until the end of the month, as we are out of stock and that product does come from the Netherlands. Tena will ship when they are back in stock. That email was send to me at the beging of this month so hope in Oct that are back in stock. Link to comment
DLdapper
I'm not sure if tena is stopping plastic backed production entirely... or at all. I've heard people rumoring about it but It's never happened yet. My padded puppy friend in Netherlands lives literally 30 minutes from a tena factory and he still gets plastic backed ones from there since he used to work in the factory. I dunno, maybe they are maybe they aren't. It will be a sadness if they stop production of plastic backed diapers, but some people like cloth backed ones anyway. Link to comment

babyally
Sad days. I knew it was coming a while back but it is a downer to think I'll probably never wear Tena again. The real worry is how long will it take before only specifically abdl diaper companies produce plastic backings? Link to comment
Walesiswet
In the uk you can now only get fabric backed unless somebody has some plastic in stock. Maybe I will investigate with tena uk. They may still make them for the healthcare settings. For example. If you try and buy euron form off the web they are mostly fabric backed but instill get. A supply of the super plus and extra plus in medium plastic backed through the nhs. The tena maxi fabric is a poor replacement. Link to comment
Bettypooh
As it was told a long time ago, Tena asked for comments regarding dropping the plastic-backed Slip Maxi. Based on those responses they decided to continue selling the plastic-backed version in the US market for the time being, while switching most other markets to cloth-like backing They also clearly stated that at some point in the future the plastic-backed version was going to go out of production completely. Repaid1
Don't know if we are there yet, as XP is getting them from the manufacture as I understand it, and those are still plastic backed. Guess we will find out in a week or so what they receive. Link to comment
ric2
thats a shame, better savour the few I have left... Link to comment
jeremy12312
I shot Gary an email awhile back, suggesting that if the Maxis go cloth-backed anyway, that he re-stock with Ultimas instead. May as well go for the granddaddy to make the best of a bad situation. He said they were considering it, but that they carried the Maxi BECAUSE it was plastic. We'll see how long he carries Tenas after the switch. Link to comment
gmcchamp99
It's a shame that the maxi's went cloth backed. I have two cases of the plastics left and bought a new case of the cloth covered ( thank you flexible spending account) and while they aren't half bad and I don't notice moisture seeping through the cloth, I can only imagine once this thing gets really full and bulky towards the end of its wear that it will rub the skin of my thighs and cause a rash Link to comment
technomonkey
if its true about cloth. i wonder if they will be like attends and go for big money lol Link to comment
