Anyone else watched Eva 3.0 yet? From what I have read the general reaction seems to range from confused to angry but I really enjoyed it.

Any of you guys or gals go to anime conventions? I just wanted to ask because I am going to one in july called animeiowa and this is my second time and now I just got my shingami or soul reaper costume that I ordered and I made my own zanpakto and it is complete with the straw sandals

I'm afraid I don't go to conventions at all. I am not a fan of crowds. I hate even going grocery shopping. If I was ever at something like SDCC I think I'd have a psychotic break.

The first film has minor differences. The second has quite a few more but still is quite recognizable. The third and forth films are all new story.

I thought the third was divergent but continuing and the fourth was an entirely new ending altogether? And the home releases are different from the cinema, right? 1.0 vs 1.11 et cetera?

Yup they are extended. 3.33 has some very minor plot similarities but is largely entirely new plotting.

Yes, extremely good. For the time Evangelion really broke some new ground in particularly with their characters. Now though, looking back, they're all fairly one dimensional. Each character is almost a parody of different mental disorders. What the Rebuild films do is really round out those characters. They now feel so much more like real people even though there's less time available to spend on developing them.
