Actually, I'm going to half-nod there. Any theocracy is the worst of any totalitarian regime ('Theodemocracy' being a joke) but I wish that the left would distance itself from the "We need to respect all religions, except Christianity" vibes because they're all oppressive tribalistic bronze age trite with no validity as a moral grounding anyway.

However, it's the 'blaming the victim' that gets me. Remember when Salman Rushdie published his novel that referenced Islam (and was named The Satanic Verses, named for an event in the history of Islam's engineering) and was deemed 'offensive' to Muslims. How did the 'spiritual leaders' respond to this? Oh, nothing much. Just, y'know, a few fatwas that put a price on Rushdie's head which forced him to go into hiding across Europe for several years.

And the response? A vast majority, including Reagan, said that Rushdie should have known what he was getting into. Hmmm. Right. So obviously it's the critic's fault, rather than the people calling for his head. The extremists get special pleading for living up to a baseline of society. "Hi, my name's Anjem, and I'm a terrorist, I've gone three days without blowing up a corner shop, go me!"

It's like the 9/11 apologists among the Tea Party, justifying the attack by saying it's our fault, we invited it upon us for not being an ass-backwards theocracy that kills men for being gay and kills women for being rape victims. Here's an idea: maybe it's something wrong with them.

inb4hurrdurrislamaphobe, when you make it the basis of law and a key player in literal terrorism, you do not deserve exemption from criticism.

Edit: Oh look, Iran's President I'm-A-Dinner-Jacket is still out for blood.

Lol, I understand how confused most people are when it comes to the middle east right now. The news sucks on reporting this, believe me. It looks like the ambassador was killed during a hit. It was quite obviously premeditated. There were no protests in front of the embassy in Bengazhi. If I remember correctly, the hit was for revenge of killing some high ranking terrorist leader. It is completely unrelated to the protests that are happening now at our embassies.

Now for the protests. The protests are happening because one of the religious leaders of the Islam world said something about how the U.S. government secretly made this video that everyone is talking about. I saw exactly what he said, but I cannot find it anywhere online. There is just too much bullshit out there that I could not sift through it all. Anyways, the guy is power hungry and this is why people are dying. What is interesting is the leader's speech about the video corresponds to the start of the protests and in some regions of the middle east, the speech came before the video was made available or is not ever available. Thus, the protests began before they saw the video. If they think they can stifle our right to free speech by fear, they have another thing coming, possibly a predator missile if they get into more trouble, lol. We will continue to make jokes about the prophet Muhammad just like we will continue making jokes about Christians and Jews.

Ahh, I found it. There names do not come easy to me, so I forget them.

It was Ayman al-Zawahiri, leader of al-Qaida, that called for the attack on the embassy in Libya for the revenge of Abu Yahya al-Libi, who was killed in an American drone strike.

On the other hand, it was Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Hezbollah, that called for the protests over the anti-muslim video. Below is a link to a summary of what he has been saying.

I'm not going to vote.

If you're 18 then thats your choice, but then you would have to live with the outcome of that choice after November 6th with whoever wins the election!

I hate both of them.

Hate is such a strong word, I think dislike would fit better.

I would rather vote for Hitler than either of them. That would be exciting. That would be something we haven't seen before in America.

Voting for Hitler is the same for voting to have Socialism run the country! That is what Hitler ran on when he got elected!

I hope our country snaps out of it and wakes the **** up before we're either a third world country from economic disaster or under the thumb of a dictator or leader who might as well be a dictator.

That would never happen! The framers of the Constitution made it possible for citizens to bare arms to keep such a situation from ever happening, hence the Left's fight for gun control! We don't need anymore Federal laws from keeping Citizens that are in good standing with the law from being unable to buy a firearm for protection. Its the criminals that get the firearms that is the problem. Does anybody actually think criminals would obey Gun Control Laws? I think not! As for the Economic disaster comment its going to happen no matter what BUT with the way Captialism works it has the ability to correct itself. The problem though is irresponsible spending! Would you spend more money than what you make from your job?

Power to the people, that's what a democracy is. Or was supposed to be. You are supposed to care more about what you do for your country and what you want than playing silly little debate games about who's the best candidate. Most people don't even know anything about the candidates except for what they hear in propaganda. I have seriously talked to and seen several people who were talking about their candidate, they were arguing with someone else, and the person arguing against them made some really good points against their candidate as well as told them a lot of things they didn't know.

Their response? Pretty much this: "Oh, I'm going to vote for Obama...because I just am!" or "I'm going to vote for Romney because........because I don't like Obama." People really are a bunch of sheep to the slaughter aren't they...

Thats because they are un-informed! They are lemmings will to jump off the cliff for that golden nugget promised to them! Don't be them!

I give up on America. I used to care about what I wanted for my country, but at that time I was still young and couldn't vote. But now, I've seen too much and I'm still a teenager. I give up. There's nothing you can do when you have millions of sheep against a few independent creative minds.

Yes there is! Keep yourself informed! Don't let the sheep think for you! Think for yourself!

If you want me to get personal, if I was forced into a corner I would have voted for Ron Paul or other third party candidate, breaths of fresh air to the stale democrat-republican war. But of course, when has a third party candidate got to the election? Almost never.

The reason for why you never see a third party ever get elected is because they split the vote which allows the sitting President to keep the position!

So, I'll just sit back with popcorn and watch what happens to this country. Maybe things will get crazy. Maybe they'll be the same as always. Survival and freedom are all that matter to me, and I'll do whatever I need to insure that no matter what the laws become.

Then you need to keep yourself informed and educated on what both parties have done and haven't done! Also knowing how they voted on issues prior to the election helps you make an informed decision on who to vote for! But for God's sake PLEASE DO NOT vote for Roseanne Barr!

Hope my comments in red will help you think more about the choice you make!

Now if only others would do the same :/ Stop giving consessions to Sharia 'law', for goodness' sake.

Dude, you're like Irish, right? What does all this matter to you? You can't vote here and you don't have to live with the consequences. You're all over this thread and you're not even an American, right? Tell you what, I won't stick my American nose in your politics, even if you just have to voice your opinion about ours.

Yeah, you have no idea what you are talking about. You should rescind what you just said, because you are actually doing yourself a great disservice. There is nothing wrong with welcoming international opinion. You might learn something, like how to win against a terrorist organization based on religious fanaticism.

9-11 apologists from the Tea Party.. Tea Party are basically Republicans who fed up with spending and Big Government. I've never herd a Tea Party,or A Republican say we deserved 9-11!!

That explains alot..

Good post Honu

Diapered Jason, the video has been out since July! It was a planned attack, cause it was the anniversary for 9-11.

Yeah you're right it was supposed to be for revenge of those top al queda leaders being killed.. It was also revenge for Bin Laden's death, remember they were all chanting. We're all Osama's Obama..

What really ticks me off, Obama either lied, or he's very stupid! It really don't matter, cause you get the same result. He won't say terrioisim! He goes on these shows and still says it's about this stupid video!! Isn't he just encouraging more riots and crap from these savages! He keeps talking about this video, I'm sure there's some who might still get mad over that!

Bottom line, We should make fun of Mohammaed all the time! Let them know we're not scared of them! They're bullies, how many times can they rilot in a week. France puts out a cartoon, A guy in California puts out a video, Italy put out a book ect.. After awhile they wouldn't even know what they're rioting about! LOL

Did you know there's a push to make it Illegal to slander Mohammed!!

The Republicans these days are wannabe theocrats who think America always has been a Christian nation (which it is...except for the beliefs of the founding fathers, the reason it's there in the first place, the Establishment Clause, Freedom From Religion as part of Freedom of Religion, First Amendment, 'Under God' not being in the original pledge of allegiance, 'In God We Trust' not being on money for a great deal of time, and the Treaty of Tripoli which explicitly states the U.S. is not a Christian Nation) and believe the bible and the terrible ten commandments the basis for U.S. Law (hint: the only reason there are monuments of the Ten Commandments outside some courts is historical value, try that crap now and it won't pass under Establishment Clause).

Find me one promising Republican from this cycle that wasn't busy slavering over God's balls and I'll take you seriously. You had at least four candidates run "Because Gawd told me to" (Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Herman "We're not racist, we have a few blacks" Cain and Michele "God Told me to Work for the IRS and then join the Tea Party" Bachmann) - one of the same things Bush Jr said regarding the Iraq war. Not only would I be skeptical of someone who acts because a voice in their head told them to do it, also a shame God in his omniscience couldn't tell him where Osama was and where the WMDs weren't ;)

As for blaming the left, I stumbled across this into one of my more 'bizarre' forays into the bowels of the net, just keep watching:

But hey, here's something else for you:

That not enough? Type 'The cultural left' into google. I dare you. Oh, how dare we have filthy, apostate notions that are an affront to God like 'women's rights'!

As for the Tea Party? Yes, that was its original intent (except they're bitching about Taxation WITH representation, missing the point entirely), and that is still there, so people who live their lives suckling that sweet, sweet medicaid oxygen can pretend they're treated unfairly, but now it's a platform just to tell people how much you hate blacks and gays. This guy was a speaker there not so long ago, most notably remembered for yelling "We will not be silenced by faggots!" in the middle of a speech which had nothing to do with taxes.

Not all Republicans are theocrats, I largely vote Republican based on fiscal-spending terms. I could give two shits about the theocrats in the GOP, because the Constitution has separation of church and state. I actually support the Tea Party in that I think it's a good thing to have because the Tea Party could easily grow big enough to split from the actual Republican Party and then we'd have a strong third party that is so sorely needed in the United States.

But for 9/11, George Bush's two terms would have been pretty good. He started out on a platform of largely domestic improvement. No Child Left Behind was his flagship legislation until 9/11 necessitated the Patriot Act.

As for Iraq: Saddam Hussein had a history of wanting, procuring, and using weapons of mass destruction, ask anyone from Halabja. The only reason Hussein didn't have a nuclear weapon in 1991 was because Israel preemptively bombed the Osirak nuclear reactor, depriving Saddam of a reactor that with other technologies, such as centrifuges, could easily be used to develop a nuclear bomb. In 1991, Norman Schwarzkopf and other American generals wanted to push forward to Baghdad and topple the regime, but Bush-41 decided against it. When the Coalition pulled back, Shia muslims in the north and Kurds in the north began rebelling, and Saddam was allowed to violently suppress them because we allowed helicopters to fly, including the Mi-24 Hind attack helicopters that Saddam had. It's all in a book written by an American F-15E pilot during Desert Storm who saw with his own eyes a rocket attack on a village in northern Iraq and was not allowed to intervene. What the world forgets about Saddam Hussein was he was a maniacal dictator with an ego complex. As to where Iraq's chemical and biological weapons went? More than likely right next door, Syria is a Ba'athist regime, and the animosity between Syria and Iraq ebbed away when Bashar al-Assad took power in Syria. I don't buy the crap that Saddam wouldn't have gotten rid of his WMD, because he knew we kicked his ass once, and in 2003 we had an even more advanced army, while his army was rotting away.

Good post Mischa! Forbiddden, of course the founders believed in a higher power!! Lat time I checked the Republicans were the ones to set the slaves free. What's all this talk about Republicans being racist!! Democrats are the ones that had a KKK member in their party. Democrats are the ones that said Nigger on tv!! It's quite obvious you don't believe in God.. Funny thing is you believe what you want. I won't argue or fight or even try to conveience you other wise. You wana rip God and my beliefs.

You may not be from our country, but you sure have the antics down of a true liberal!

The conservative, if they don't like Chicken they won't go to that restraunt!

The Liberal if they don't like Chicken they will try to get that place shut down!!

Oh boy here we go with WMD'S! Kennedy, both Clintons, Kerry and Gore ect.. All thought Saddam had WMD'S! If Saddam would've lived and stayed in power. He'd be a constant threat, we'd always have to worry about him dealing with Al Queda! The Iraqi's damn sure wouldn't be better off!!

Oh yeah Fruit, what do you think Saddam was put to death for!! He was sentenced to death for using WMD'S against his own people the Kurds!!

There's your WMD'S!!

President Bush was right!! Thank God, God Bless the USA

While I agree about your stance about Saddam . Religionists meh as an informed voter I try to vote for whoever makes sense. Socialism does not work. It will only work until they run out of money. Then they burn the place down. Give me freedom of speech vs friendship with countries that hate us. I truly believe America will go into another civil war but this time no shots will be fired. As soon as people find out their free healthcare is not free they will revolt. And ill be there with my bag of popcorn watching from the outside. :)

FORBIDDEN FRUIT your anti American or republican comments is one of the reasons I don't usually get along with Europeans. In your comments I can feel hatred, confusion, and a typical do as I say not as I do attitude. Time for a vacation.

You know puffybedwetter.. I debate with alot of people on yahoo, facebook, and youtube ect..

I'm always telling people this.... I'm not real big on Romney, but I'll vote 100% against Obama.

On the ballot is the

New European America AKA Obama's Fundamental America

Vs The United States of America!

We'll get Romney in there, if he don't pan out, we'll gt someone else in there.

We must defeat Obama in November!

Go see 2016 Obama's America

Not going for heated debate here...I promise...just want to point out a couple of things...Conservatives seem to like preserving the status quo, whereas Liberals seem to like taking chances when the status quo doesn't seem to work anymore. Given that, freeing the slaves seems like a pretty liberal thing to do, does it not? Neither political party, as they exist today, are the same as when they started out. The last Republican to balance the budget was Eisenhower. The last Democrat to do so was Clinton, who also left a surplus when he left office. Some people feel comfortable calling Republicans racist because some of the members of the FAR right have given them plenty of reasons. I'm not about to judge anybody in that regard, but when SOME elected officials and followers of said officials toss around words like "terrorist" and "radical Muslim" about another elected official who happens to be black, it makes some people wonder.

I'm not going to vote for Obama because I'm in love with him or because I'm totally satisfied with everything he's done in office, but because Romney has pissed off people in every country he's visited, he doesn't respect the rights of women (not even talking about abortion - why is Viagra covered by most health insurers when birth control and morning after pills aren't?), he makes disparaging comments about almost half of America (yes, some people cheat the system, but MANY others actually NEED those programs), he attacks Obama on issues that he ultimately agrees with Obama on, and most recently, he doesn't have enough scientific education to know WHY windows SHOULDN'T roll down on airplanes.

Link to comment

*All that said, in a two party system, I do REALLY wish the Republicans could have produced a candidate that would have actually made me pause before voting for Obama again. I just can't find it in me to take a chance on Romney and Ryan...I'd rather have 4 more years of the same than take my chances with those characters.

I wish the Democrats would've ran a real American.. No Birther here, but someone with American Ideas, and values.. We've never had a President like BHO! Not because of his skin color! Remember he is half white. No President, who says we can't wait for congress to act. So I'll just pass them up, and make my own laws! Never had a President to drive up the gas prices, so he can push his Green agenda! Never had a President to drive up unemployment! Never had a President to betray our allies, and be buddy buddy with the Enemy!!

Yeah would've been nice, if the Democrats would've ran a real democrat!!
