Plastic pants in the 1950s?

I don’t think that’s the version that was used on me.  I can’t imagine my parents being able to afford a disposable diaper system. The Kleinert’s pants used on me were a waterproof nylon pant over a cloth diaper.

There were such things as you describe in the late 1950's but they were not popular nor very successful "Rubber pant(ie)s" remain the most comonly used phrase to describe waterproof pants outside the medical/ABDL world. Also, up until very recently, some fault or other has been found with these kind of things Even in the "oughts" the waterproofing had been known to peel off from the substrate material. Also, the "breathability" has been known to allow substances that were vapors at body temperature out of containment, only to condense on the outside of the panty and inside the clothing when away from the body, which then became damp or wet and was thought to be leakage. The quality icalled "gas permeability"
