A Summer's Regression

It was Sam and Anna, "I know I said I'd bring her around one but my boss called and said there was a meeting I have to go to. Is it okay that I brought her earlier?" Sam says

"Yes, of course. Come on in Anna. Thank you for dropping her off, Sam." Nancy said.

Anna came in the house wearing a tee shirt and a skirt. She saw Paige sitting on the couch drinking her bottle.

"Paige!" Anna came over and gave Paige a gentle hug.

"How are you? Does it hurt where they took your appendix?" Anna asked.

"No problem. Let me know if it's okay for her to stay the night later, I'll bring her some stuff later" Sam says smiling.

Paige put down her bottle. "I'm good, just feeling sleepy sometimes. It doesn't hurt sometimes, if it does auntie gives me Tylenol." Paige says. "How are you? I'm happy you're over here" Paige says smiling

"Alright, we will." Nancy told Sam.

Anna smiled.

"I wanna feel better too.. Yeah. You wanna have bananas with me?" Paige asks.

[robehouse]

Anna nodded.

"How about I feed you a jar of bananas and then you feed me some? That is if you have enough."

"Yes, we have plenty. Here, take the spoon. It's okay if she feeds you isn't it baby?"

Paige looked over and nodded. "You can feed me bananas." Paige says smiling. Paige opened her mouth for some bananas.

[robehouse]

Judy handed Anna the spoon. She dipped it in the bananas and then brought it to Paige's mouth.

"Here you go, baby. Open wide for Anna."

Anna slipped the spoon into Paige's mouth and let Paige eat the baby food.

Paige are her first bite of bananas and smiled. She made a hum of approval and opened her mouth for more happily.

Anna smiled and kept feeding Paige. Occasionally she would pick up a napkin and wipe Paige's mouth.

Eventually Paige didn't want anymore bananas. "No more please." Paige says then picked up her bottle and started to drink her juice.

[robehouse]

"Alright."

Anna put the spoon in the jar and handed it to Judy.

"How about I get some games or something for you two to play with? Do you feel up to playing, baby?" Judy asked.

[Skylove27]

"I don't mind playing for a little bit." Paige says smiling. "What kinda games do you have auntie?"

[robehouse]

"We have Chutes and Ladders, Candy Land, Elefun and ants in your pants. Do any of them sound like fun?" Judy asked.

[Skylove27]

"Chutes and ladders. I don't wanna do running around games."

[robehouse]

"Is that okay with you, Anna?"

"Yes ma'am." Anna replied.

Judy got the chutes and ladders game

"Can I sit in a big girl chair like Anna, Auntie please?" Paige asks

[robehouse]

"Of course, baby." Judy said.

Judy picked Paige up from the high chair and moved her over to the chair next to Anna. Anna smiled at her.

"You can go first if you want."

[Skylove27]

"Thank you." Paige smiled

"Okay, sure " Paige says. She reached over and spun the wheel.

[robehouse]

Anna sat quietly watching Paige spin the wheel and move her piece, then did the same.

Judy brought Anna a drink in a sippy cup.

Paige smiled. Then spun the wheel she made it to the end of the first row and got to climb up the ladder

Anna clapped her hands.

"Good job, Paige! You're way ahead now."

Anna spun for her turn and moved her piece, but didn't get to the ladder.

Judy took pictures of Paige and Anna playing the game.

Paige giggled. "Yay!" She says happily. She took her turn after Anna and had to move four spaces. She didn't have to go up or down.

[robehouse]

Anna spun her turn and moved, landing on a chute. She slid her piece down.

"Oh well. I'll catch up with you."

Anna took another drink from her sippy cup.

"I think you will." Paige smiled. She spun her turn and got another ladder, it only moved her up one row above her original spot. "I didn't move up to far, you still have time to catch up."
